OCEAN SPRINGS - Arthemise Alsina Blossman, 86, died Wednesday, December 6, 2000, in Ocean Springs, NC; her son, John R. Blossman of Ocean Springs; her niece, Karen Lott of Ocean Springs; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren .
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Saturday, December 9, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Ocean Springs. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Ocean Springs.

Claudell Bourne Jr.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday at Ebenezer Baptist Church.
GULFPORT - Claudell "Heavy D" Bourne Jr., 30, of No. 9 Ingram Court, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, in Gulfport.
Mr. Bourne was born Sept. 26, 1970, in Laurel and was a 1988 graduate of Harrison Central High School. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Claudell Bourne Sr.; and a brother, Wardell Oatis Jr.
Survivors include a son, Justin Kordell Clark; his mother, Sarah Nell Bourne; a sister, Barbara Bourne; and two brothers, Christopher Bourne and Leonard Bourne, all of Gulfport.
A service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ebenezer Baptist Church where friends may call one hour before service time. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Richmond Funeral Home in Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.
John Cooley
GULFPORT - John Cooley, 67, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, in Long Beach.

Thomas E. Andrews
Funeral: 2 p.m. Sunday at Sycamore Baptist Church in Picayune.
PICAYUNE - Thomas E. Andrews, 40, died Thursday, April 29, 1999, in Picayune.
Mr. Andrews was a native of Baton Rouge and was employed as a mechanic for Power Dynamic. He was a Catholic.
Survivors include his wife, Novalise Andrews; a son, Thomas E. Andrews Jr.; two daughters, Alicia Nicole Andrews and Martha Ann Andrews, all of Picayune; his parents, Bennie D. and Anna Andrews of Mobile; five brothers, Tony Andrews of Grosse Tete, La., Maxie Andrews of Citronell, Ala., Marvin Andrews of Kushla, Ala., Melvin C. Andrews of Picayune, and Leo J. Andrews of Semmes, Ala.; and a sister, Phyllis Annette Gancez of Atlanta.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Picayune Funeral Home. A service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Sycamore Baptist Church in Picayune with burial in the church cemetery.
Herman A. Cannette
Funeral: 10 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D'Iberville.
NORTH BILOXI - Herman A. Cannette, 80, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999, in Biloxi.
Mr. Cannette was a lifelong resident of North Biloxi. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of Sacred Heart Church in D'Iberville. He was an Army veteran and retired from Keesler AFB as a packer and crater after 31 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Coley Cannette; a stepson, Joseph William Flynn; his father, John Henry Cannette; his mother, Sophia Trosclair Cannette; two brothers, Henry Tony Cannette and Wilbur Cannette; and a sister, Lucille Cannette Richards.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Rosco "Nell" Lane of Vancleave; a stepdaughter, Geneva Flynn Ryan of D'Iberville; two brothers, Lester Cannette and Verl Cannette, both of D'Iberville; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
A service will be at 10 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D'Iberville where friends may call one hour before service time. Burial will be in D'Iberville Memorial Park Cemetery in D'Iberville. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
Luvenia Davis
Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Monday at George and Lillian Lockett Memorial Chapel.
GULFPORT - Luvenia "Sister" Davis, 87, died Monday, April 26, 1999, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Davis was born Dec. 16, 1911, in Biloxi and was a longtime resident of Gulfport. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Texas City, New York and a resident of the Coast for one year. He was of the Jewish faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Lena Wasserburg Forster.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Seligman Forster of Biloxi; two sons, Leslie Forster of Miami, and Martin Forster of Coral Gables, Fla.; two sisters, Sylvia Kaplan of Boca Raton, Fla., and Beatrice Loera of Calif., and Westly L. Frierson Sr. of Cal City, Mississippi and a resident of the Gulf Coast for 20 years. She was a graduate of Kosciusko High School and attended Cadet Nursing at Old Biloxi Hospital. She retired from nursing at Biloxi Regional Hospital. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Juanita Marr.
Survivors include two sisters, Virginia Harkey of Biloxi and Patricia Tisbury of Hamburg, Ark.; and a brother, George Harkey of Tulsa, Okla.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday at Riemann Funeral Home on Beauvoir Road in Biloxi. A procession will then leave the funeral home at 3 p.m. for a graveside service at Swetman Cemetery in D'Iberville.
Dorothy Johnson
Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, U.S. 49 North, Gulfport.
WOOLMARKET - Dorothy Evans Johnson, 73, of Woolmarket, died Thursday, April 29, 1999, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Johnson was born August 9, 1925, in Saucier, MS, and graduated from Gulfport High School. She attended the Women's Business College in New Orleans, LA, where she received a degree in accounting and the University of Mississippi Power Company for 23 years. After retiring, she was employed in the real estate business and was a member of the Million Dollar Sales Club and the Mississippi Gulf Coast Art Association for several years.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Leo Johnson; her parents, Mrs. Lillie Anne Fayard Sorrels and Mr. Henry Vonley Evans; and a brother, Joseph Edwin Evans.
Survivors include a son, Michael Joseph Johnson and daughter-in-law, Dorothy Michelle Fullilove Johnson, both of Woolmarket; a grandson, Joshua Michael Johnson of Long Beach; two brothers, Mr. Hardy V. Evans of Long Beach and Mr. William Evans of Gulfport.
Mrs. Johnson was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 1999, at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, U.S. 49 North, Gulfport. The funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 1999, at the funeral home chapel where friends may call from 1 p.m. until service time. Burial will be in Coalville Cemetery in Woolmarket.
Charles Raymond Kirschenheuter
Funeral: 11 a.m. today at Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Avenue in Gulfport.
GULFPORT - Charles Raymond "Moon" Kirschenheuter, 46, a resident of Gulfport, died Thursday, April 29, 1999, in Gulfport.
Mr. Kirschenheuter was a native and lifelong resident of Gulfport and was a bookmaker for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Kirschenheuter; a son, Charles Raymond Kirschenheuter Jr.; a daughter, Sherry Kirschenheuter; a brother, William "Sonny" Kirschenheuter, all of Gulfport; four sisters, Betty Burnthorne of Metairie, LA, Barbara Scarborough of Pass Christian, Gwen Lizana and Sandra Jones, both of Gulfport; and a granddaughter, Julia Elizabeth Reeves.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today, Saturday, at the Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Avenue in Gulfport, where friends may call after 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Gardens in Gulfport.
Gwen McDonald

LONG BEACH - Gwen McDonald, 75, died Thursday, April 29, 1999, in Gulfport.
Mrs. McDonald was a native of Mozelle and a resident of the Coast since 1945. She was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church where she was league secretary for the Sunday Special Bowling League. She was a charter member and past president of Bells and Buoys Square Dance Club.
Survivors include her husband, James McDonald Jr.; a son, Eugene McDonald, both of Long Beach; three daughters, Janis Phelps of Long Beach, Betty Bourque of Gulfport and Carolyn Phelps of Lyman; three brothers, Mitchell Smith of Gulfport, Ulmont Smith of Long Beach and Herman Smith of Mozelle; two sisters, Willa Herring of Biloxi and Cleo Hall of Rochester, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Ave., Gulfport. A service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with burial in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens in Long Beach.
Clara Cecelia McLeod
Funeral: 1 p.m. Monday at St. James Catholic Church.
GULFPORT - Mrs. Clara Cecelia Ladner McLeod, 79 years old, a resident of Gulfport, entered into eternal life Thursday, April 29, 1999.
She entered into this life October 4, 1919, in the Ladner Community to a family of seven children. Mrs. McLeod worked at the MacSmith Factory, Splendid Cafe, Markham Hotel, and Paradise Point. She was a member of St. John and St. James Catholic Churches in Gulfport. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Hooker C. McLeod; her parents, Delarie and Cevelia Ladner; and a brother, Norman Ladner.
Survivors include her daughter, Emilie C. Ladner and her husband, Leland; her sisters, Valina Ladner; Nita Achee and her husband, Earl; Wilda Moran and her late husband, J.P. Moran; Adele LaFontaine and her husband, Owen; her brother, Merlin Ladner and his wife, Mary Ellen; her granddaughters, Valerie L. Malley and her husband, George; Sabine E. Ladner; Patrice L. Torricelli and her husband, Damon; her grandsons, Leland L. Ladner Jr. and his wife, Tami; Lovell M. Ladner and his wife, Jane; seven great-grandchildren, Pamela Jacobson and her husband, David; Melissa Malley; Jarrod Malley; Jonathan Ladner; Nicolas Ladner; Ashlyn Torricelli, and Zachary Torricelli; two great-great-grandchildren, Amber Jacobson and Kirsten Ladner; and many special nieces and nephews.
We trust God's promise and doubt Him never. For only through death can she live forever. She will live forever in our hearts.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and after 6 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 1999, at the Riemann Funeral Home 25th Avenue in Gulfport, with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. The celebration of the funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. James Catholic Church, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.

Verdee Odom

POPLARVILLE - Mrs. Verdee Odom, 84, died Thursday, April 29, 1999, in Poplarville.
Mrs. Odom was a member of Hickory Springs Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Odom.
Survivors include five sons, Lavelle Odom, Jimmie Lynn Odom, Wendell Odom, and Gary Odom, all of Poplarville, and Donnie Odom of Carriere; two daughters, Wynell Felber of Poplarville, and Renee Basoco of Ocean Springs; her stepmother; a sister, Jessie Duncan; a stepbrother, Grady Towery, both of Poplarville; 29 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
A service will be at 11 a.m. today at White Funeral Home Chapel in Poplarville with burial in Juniper Grove Cemetery in Poplarville.
