Virtlee Josephine Dedeaux
Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in DeLisle.
DELISLE - Mrs. Virtlee Josephine Swanier Dedeaux was born August 12, 1910, in DeLisle. She was one of five children born to Joseph Swanier and Clogia Antoine Swanier. She departed this life on the evening of December 5, 2000.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and lifelong member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church in DeLisle. She was an auxiliary member of The Legion of Mary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Dedeaux; a daughter, Joycelyn L. Dedeaux; a son, Bernard Dedeaux; two brothers and one sister.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Mrs. Jeanell (Jesse) Barnes of Pass Christian; and two sons, James (Ceceil) Dedeaux and Eddie (Lettie) Dedeaux of DeLisle; her daughter-in-law, Rose Marie Dedeaux of DeLisle; one brother, Adam Swanier of DeLisle; 25 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; and one godchild, Delores Lizana.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2000, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in DeLisle where friends may call one hour prior to service time and recitation of the rosary will be at 10:30. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery.
Lockett-Williams' Mortuary in Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.
Willie A. Harris Sr.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi.
D'IBERVILLE - Willie A. Harris Sr., 79, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, in Gulfport.
Mr. Harris was born in Pascagoula and was a lifelong resident of the Coast. He retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula.
He was preceded in death by two wives, Eva Nobles and Edna Harris.
Survivors include a daughter, Dangel Henn of Pascagoula; three sons, Willie Harris Jr. and Roger Harris, both of Lucedale, and Curtis Harris of Ocean Springs; three stepdaughters, Pamela Moffett, Audrey Harris and Wanda Ryan; four stepsons, Edward Reid, William Reid, Dewey Reid and Arvey Reid, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi. A service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with burial in D'Iberville Memorial Park.
Guster Lee Jackson
Funeral: 1 p.m. Saturday at Main Street Missionary Baptist Church in Biloxi.
BILOXI - Mrs. Guster Lee Jackson, 72, of 248 Tchula St., died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, in Biloxi.
Mrs. Jackson was born March 1, 1928, in Brooksville and was formerly employed as a cook at Holy Angels. She was a member of Oakland Missionary Baptist Church in Crawford, Main Street Baptist Church and New Bethel Baptist Church of Biloxi and Victory Full Gospel Temple Christian Center of Ocean Springs.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Hattie Buckhaulter, and her father, Harry Mosley.
Survivors include three daughters, Eliza C. Mosby of Tampa, Fla., Hattie D. Holmes of Gulfport and Shirley M. Brister of Biloxi; six sons, Earnest A. Mosley of Ocean Springs, Jimmy Jee Jamison, L.C. Smith, Jessie L. Brister, Ellis Brister, and Joe Jackson Jr., all of Biloxi; five sisters, Willie Mae Ashfore of Starkville, Rosie Shield of Columbus, Lillie Mae Harris of Indianapolis; 16 grandchildren; ine great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Richmond Funeral Home in Biloxi. A service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Main Street Missionary Baptist Church in Biloxi with burial in Biloxi City Cemetery.
Gus Keller
GULFPORT - Gus Keller, 92, of 3627 Meadowlark Drive, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, in Gulfport.

Bernice E. Morris

BILOXI - Mrs. Bernice E. Morris, 95, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Morris was a native and lifelong resident of Harrison County. She was a homemaker and was a longtime member of Cedar Lake United Methodist Church in Biloxi where she was a member of the Golden Oldies and Ladies Fellowship.
She was preceded in death by her husband, B.F. "Bill" Morris; a son, Albert Joseph Morris; a daughter, Annie Lee Hood; three brothers, Jim Husley, Frank Husley and Fritz Husley; and three sisters, Ida Husley, Ada Hudson and Ernestine Hudson.
Survivors include two daughters, Myrtis Richard and Anne Mae Williams, both of Biloxi; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, U.S. 49 North, Gulfport. A service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Lake United Methodist Church where friends may call two hours before service time. Burial will be in Morris Cemetery at Cedar Lake in Biloxi.
George Alford Nash
Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday at Holder-Wells Funeral Home Chapel in Moss Point.
PASCAGOULA - George Alford "Toby" Nash, 55, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, in Pascagoula.
Mr. Nash was born May 19, 1945, in Waynesboro and attended Canaan Assembly of God Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otho and Annie Nash; a grandson, Toby Paul Loper, three brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila Nash of Pascagoula; a son, George Michael Nash; four daughters, Edna Nash, Melissa Pearson, Rhonda Loper and Angela Danner, all of Pascagoula; a brother, Mack Nash of Escatawpa, and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point. A service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel with burial in Griffin Cemetery in Moss Point.

BILOXI - Willard Nichols, 47, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, in Biloxi.

Terrill Howellton Smith Sr.

VANCLEAVE - Terrill Howellton Smith Sr., 84, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, in Vancleave.
Mr. Smith was born Aug. 15, 1916, in Jackson County and was a retired timber buyer. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jean Knitz Smith; his parents, Ernest Paul and Elizabeth Smith; and two brothers, Paul Henry and Herman Smith.
Survivors include three daughters, Joan Smith of Gautier, Betty Smith and Mary Ann Smith, both of Vancleave; two sons, Terrill H. Smith Jr. of Vancleave and Tommy Smith of Pascagoula; a sister, Minnie J. Brister; a brother, Ernest Earl Smith, both of Helena, and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point. A service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with burial in Serene Memorial Gardens in Escatawpa.
The family prefers memorials to the Hospice of Light or the American Heart Association.
Hijung Stapleton
Funeral: Memorial service at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Bay High Auditorium in Bay St. Louis.
LONG BEACH - Hijung "Red" Stapleton, age 56, of Long Beach, died December 4, 2000, without any regrets.
She was well-known across the Gulf Coast because of her zealous work as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Her service to her God, Jehovah, along with her family was her whole life, happiness, and reason for living.
She temporarily leaves behind her best friend, husband, Mike Stapleton of Long Beach, her pride and joy, her children, Joseph Stapleton, Joshua Stapleton, Anna Short, of Long Beach and Maryann Frisella of Pass Christian and one grandson, Austin Short of Long Beach. And her three brothers and two sisters and countless friends she touched.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2000, at The Bay High Auditorium in Bay St. Louis.

GULFPORT - Maria K. Virgil, 86, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, in Pass Christian.
Mrs. Virgil was a native of Copiah County and was a member of the Damascus Holiness Church of Hazlehurst.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Will "Bill" Virgil; six brothers, Jessie Davenport, John Davenport, Sam Davenport, E. D. Davenport, and Earl Davenport and Marshall Knox; three sisters, Louvenia D. Herron, Laura D. May, and Emma Lee Allen.
Survivors include a son, Joe Willis Virgil of Hazlehurst; a daughter, Edith V. McChester of Gulfport; a sister, Ella Mae Knox Pickett of Hazlehurst; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A service will be at noon Saturday at Greater Damascus Holiness Church of Hazlehurst where friends may call one hour before service time. Burial will be in Hunter Cemetery in Hazlehurst. Hartwell's Christian Mortuary in Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.
Arlene Muzzy White
Funeral: 2 p.m. today at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes.
OCEAN SPRINGS - Arlene Muzzy White, 93, died Wednesday, December 6, 2000, at the Biloxi Hospital.
Miss White was born in Chicago, Illinois. She retired after 30 years with the same company.
Upon retirement, Miss White returned to Ocean Springs and moved into the new Villa Maria Apartments which became her home for over 25 years. During retirement, Miss White was active in Friends of the Library and the King's Daughters Assoc.
Miss White was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Gould and Laura Keltie White; her brothers, Eugene L. (Shorty) White, Kenneth White, and Leroy White; and her sister, Vi Frost.
Survivors include a brother, Robert Duffey of Sun City, CA; numerous nieces and nephews in Texas; three stepsons, Joseph F. Willis of Crystal Beach, David Willis of Pascagoula, and Borden P. Willis of Moss Point; a sister, Margie Wells of Brazoria, Mississippi Regional Center in Long Beach. She was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church in Gulfport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Pryor and Annette James Pryor; two sisters, Lela Holmes and Janice Pryor; and a brother, Marvin Pryor.
Survivors include her husband, Willie Earl Culberson of Gulfport; two sisters, Clarice Stewart and Clara Warden, both of New Orleans; and a brother, Tyrone Cutis Wright of Bay St. Louis.
A service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mark United Methodist Church in Gulfport, where friends may call one hour before service time. Burial will be in Pine Ridge Gardens in Gulfport. Lockett-Williams' Mortuary in Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.
Edmund Lee Dale
PICAYUNE - Edmund Lee Dale, 64, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, in Biloxi.
Mr. Dale was a native of N.Y.; two sisters, Carole Sheppard of Stanton, and Sally Polachek of Hawk Run, Pa.; and a grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. McDonald Funeral Home in Picayune is in charge of arrangements.
Hersel Monroe Daughdrill

LONG BEACH - Hersel Monroe Daughdrill, 79, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, in Long Beach.
Mr. Daughdrill was a retired farmer and welding instructor at Purvis High School. He was a member of the Main Street Missionary Baptist Church in Lumberton.
Survivors include his wife, Orel Louise Strahan Daughdrill; three sons, Ronal E. Daughdrill of Long Beach, H. Harlan Daughdrill and Donald Daughdrill, both of Brooklyn, Miss.; two daughters, Gloria V. Kirkman of Pascagoula and Nelda J. Mills of Poplarville; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 tonight at White Funeral Home in Poplarville. A service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with burial in Carnes Cemetery in Lumberton.
Judith Ann Duckworth
BILOXI - Judith Ann Duckworth, 63, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Duckworth was born Jan. 16, 1937, in Cincinnati and was a former resident of New Melle, Mo. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by first husband, Donald Schuster; her parents; and a brother, David Bosworth.
Survivors include her husband, Russell Duckworth of Biloxi; a son, Scott A Schuster of Marthasville, Mo.; a daughter, Donna Ann "Susie" Davis of Biloxi; two brothers, Kenneth Bosworth of Alabama and Patrick Mattman of Biloxi; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
A service was held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Nieburg-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Warrenton, Mo., with burial in Wright City Cemetery.
