Funeral: 7 p.m. today at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes and graveside at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hoomes Family Cemetery in Brewton, Ala.
OCEAN SPRINGS - Ms. Amanda B. Garriga, 25, of Ocean Springs, died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, in Ocean Springs.
Ms. Garriga was a student at Anniston Elementary in Gulfport, Field Club Elementary in Omaha, Mississippi State University in 1998 and continued her education there in the fall of 1999. A fine arts major, she had work displayed in various Tennessee. She sang with a well-known North Alabama.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 6358, Gulfport, MS 39506.
Gordon Joseph Herring Jr.
Funeral: 11 a.m. today at Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Avenue, Gulfport.
GULFPORT - Gordon Joseph Herring Jr., 79, a resident of Gulfport, died Wednesday, June 28, 2000, in Gulfport.
Mr. Herring, a native of Indiana; and four grandchildren, Candice Herring Trochesset, Cecily Cummings, Tiffany Herring and Ricky Herring.
Visitation will be after 10 a.m. today, Friday, at the Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Avenue in Gulfport. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, followed by burial in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
The family prefers memorials to one's favorite charity.
Robert Huddleston
OCEAN SPRINGS - Robert Huddleston, 49, of Ocean Springs, died Wednesday, June 28, 2000, in Ocean Springs.
His greatest joy in life was being Pappaw.
Survivors include his wife, Vicki Mize Huddleston; a daughter, Wendy Shaw; a son, David Shaw; and six grandchildren, Taylor, Jordon, Jason, Wade, Niya and Noah.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.

Justin Matthew McClelland
GAUTIER - Infant Justin Matthew McClelland died Tuesday, June 27, 2000, in Ocean Springs.
Survivors include his parents, John and Robin McClelland; two sisters, Christina Lorraine McClelland and Patricia Rose McClelland, all of Gautier; and his grandparents, Donald and Dorothy McClelland of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Lonnie and Marilyn Rippy of Branson, Mo.
A private service will be held at a later date. Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Avenue, Gulfport, is in charge of arrangements.
Isabelle Miller
Funeral: Graveside at 2 p.m. today at Evergreen Gardens in Gulfport.
PASS CHRISTIAN - Mrs. Isabelle Miller, 88, died Monday, June 26, 2000, in Pass Christian.
Mrs. Miller was a native of Atlanta and was a longtime legal secretary for Senator Marshall and Rae Bryant. She was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses in Long Beach.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Burton Miller; and her parents, Raymond Albertson and Jessie Sandifer.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today at Evergreen Gardens in Gulfport. Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Avenue, Gulfport, is in charge of arrangements.
Arthur Edward Newman
Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home Chapel on Beauvoir Road in Biloxi.
BILOXI - Arthur Edward Newman, 82, died Wednesday, June 28, 2000, in Biloxi.
Mr. Newman was born May 19, 1918, in Gulfport and was a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. He was a 1935 graduate of Biloxi High School and was employed as a machinist at Ingalls Shipbuilding. He was a veteran of World War II where he received a Bronze Star. He joined the Coast Artillery Corp. in 1937 and retired from the Air Force after 22 years of service. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Biloxi.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Edna Newman; a sister, Evelyn Nelson; and a brother, James E. Newman.
Survivors include his wife, Opal Caver Newman; a son, Arthur "Eddie" Newman Jr. of Old Lyme, Conn.; two daughters, Carolyn "Sue" Ganey of Henderson, Nev., and Marion "Jo" Keller of Siler City, N.C.; two sisters, Helen Gray Dauro of Long Beach and Bea Wardlaw of Grenada; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home Chapel on Beauvoir Road in Biloxi where friends may call one hour before service time. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors.
Irwin William Obernuefemann
Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Ocean Springs.
OCEAN SPRINGS - Mr. Irwin William Obernuefemann, 89, of Ocean Springs, died Wednesday, June 28, 2000, in Ocean Springs.
Mr. Obernuefemann had been a resident of the community for 42 years and worked at U.S. Steel during World War II as an accountant and engineer. He graduated from Tri-State University in Angola, Washington University in St. Louis, and also St. Louis University. He was in private business from 1946-1953 in Belleville, Illinois. He moved to the Coast in 1958 and worked as an instructor at Keesler Air Force Base until his retirement in 1981. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Ocean Springs where he was a choir member, and a member of the Lay Carmalite Order. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus where he was a 4th degree Knight, a member of ALHAMBRA, a member of Legion of Mary and St. Vincent De Paul Society. He was a lector with his church and also a Eucharistic Minister.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew J. and Ida Ogle Obernuefemann.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Obernuefemann of Ocean Springs; a daughter, Nancy Obernuefemann of Ocean Springs; and three sons, Andrew Obernuefemann of Ocean Springs. Dr. Tim Obernuefemann of Clarksville, TN, and Michael Obernuefemann and his wife, Bettina, of Memphis, TN.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 1, 2000, from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church with an 11 a.m. church Mass following. Burial will be in Crestlawn Cemetery. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.

Versie B. Pace
Funeral: 1 p.m. Saturday at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Gulfport.
GULFPORT - Mrs. Versie B. Pace, 77, died Monday, June 26, 2000, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Pace was a native of Jefferson Davis County and was a member of the Progressive Missionary Baptist Church where she was a deaconess. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 440.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. Moses Pace Sr. of Gulfport; a son, Moses Pace Jr. of Gulfport; six daughters, Catherine Tate, Mary M. Lewis, Sherron J. Lewis and Christine Lenard, all of Gulfport, Jewel M. Wilson of Madison, and Carol E. Haskins of Atlanta; three brothers, Sylinder Griffith of Calif.; a stepdaughter, Cindy Ferguson of Pasadena, Texas; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, U.S. 49 North, Gulfport. A service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gulfport. Burial will be in Free Church of God Cemetery on Three Rivers and O'Neal Road in Gulfport.
