Geraldine Jackson
Funeral: Graveside at 12:30 p.m. today in Evergreen Gardens in Gulfport.
PASS CHRISTIAN - Mrs. Geraldine Jackson, 78, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, in Biloxi.
Mrs. Jackson was a native of Huntington, W.V., and had been a Gulf Coast resident since 1963. She was a homemaker and was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Jackson; her parents, Curtis and Frances Talley; and a brother, Clarence Parrish.
Survivors include a son, Robert Jackson of Biloxi; and a daughter, Gerrie Hamm of Pass Christian.
Graveside services will be at 12:30 p.m. today in Evergreen Gardens in Gulfport. Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Avenue in Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.
Gwen Butler Morris
Funeral: Memorial at 10 a.m. today at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Biloxi.
SARASOTA, Fla. - Mrs. Gwen Butler Morris, 52, died Monday, Nov. 23, 1998, in Sarasota.
Mrs. Morris was a native of Biloxi and had lived in Sarasota for two years.
Survivors include her husband, Charles F. "Chuck" Morris of Sarasota; two daughters, Laurie J. Morris of Sarasota and Carolyn Morris Shiley of Midway, Ga.; a son, Jason A. Morris of Sarasota; her parents, Oscar and Uelda Butler of Biloxi; three sisters, Mary Butler Womble of Lilburn, Ga., Julie Butler Mapes of Gulfport and Jenne Butler Migues of Vancleave; a brother, David Butler of Ocean Springs; and two grandsons.
Visitation was held Friday evening at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. today at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Biloxi.
The family prefers donations to one's favorite charity in Gwen's name.
Alton L. Reyer
Funeral: 11 a.m. today at White Funeral Home Chapel in Poplarville.
POPLARVILLE - Mr. Alton L. Reyer, 57, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, in Hattiesburg.
Mr. Reyer was a retired self-employed body shop repairman and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Smith Reyer of Poplarville; a son, Billy Reyer, both of Poplarville; two daughters, Connie Williams of Poplarville and Ginger Eavenson of Moselle; and four grandchildren.
Visitation was held Friday evening at White Funeral Home in Poplarville. A service will be at 11 a.m. today in the funeral home chapel, with burial in Serenity Springs Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Katie Mae Swilley
Funeral: 11 a.m. today at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home Chapel in Gulfport.
GULFPORT - Katie Mae Alexander Swilley, 70, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Swilley was born in Warm Springs, Ga., and had been a resident of the Gulf Coast for most of her life. She attended Faith Baptist Church in Gulfport and was a retired home health nurse.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Swilley; two sisters, Mary Perry and Jean Holland; and two brothers, Harold Alexander and Elwin Alexander.
Survivors include three daughters, Rebecca Carr, Linda Miguez and Mary Underhill; two sons, Chris Swilley and Carl Swilley, all of Gulfport; two sisters, Erma Willingham of Conroe, Texas; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held Friday evening until 8 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Gulfport. The funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Allen Cemetery in Long Beach.

GULFPORT - Mrs. Allene E. Wilkinson, 65, a resident of Gulfport, died Friday, November 27, 1998, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Wilkinson, a native of Owensboro, Ky., had been a Gulfport resident 30 years. She was a Support Assistant at the Naval Oceanographic Center, and was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church in Gulfport.
Mrs. Wilkinson was preceded in death by a son, Steven R. Wilkinson. Survivors include her husband, James Benton Wilkinson; a son, James B. Wilkinson Jr., both of Gulfport; two daughters, Mary W. Carr of Long Beach and Julann W. Broussard of Biloxi; two brothers, Boyd Brown of Las Vegas, Nev., and Leon Brown of Owensboro, Ky.; a sister, Marie Brown Sauve of Golden, Colo., and Paul D. Haines of Warren, Mich.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A service will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi.

WAVELAND - Harold E. Masson Sr., 83, died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, in Gulfport.

Judy Monastra

PERKINSTON - Mrs. Judy Monastra, 58, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, in Perkinston.
Mrs. Monastra was a mobile home park manager in Ohio; a son, Scott Wright of Canton; two stepsons, Craig Monastra of North Canton, Ohio; her mother, Helen Crumley; a sister, Sandra McConnell; two brothers, John Crumley and Roger Crumley, all of Canton; and five grandchildren.
A service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Unity Baptist Church in McHenry. Moore Funeral Home in Wiggins is in charge of arrangements.
John Humphrey Smith
Funeral: 2 p.m. Sunday at Holder-Wells Funeral Home Chapel in Moss Point.
ESCATAWPA - John Humphrey Smith, 52, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, in Pascagoula.
Mr. Smith was born Nov. 1, 1946, in Jackson County.
He was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Smith; and his father, Paul H. Smith.
Survivors include seven sons, Joey Tucker, Carl Tucker, Danny Smith, Ricky Smith, Randy Smith, David Smith and Tommy Smith; his mother, Gladys Smith; a brother, Derek Smith; four sisters, Paulette Evans and Linda Couch, all of Pascagoula, Paulie White of Carter of Escatawpa; and 18 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point. A service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home chapel with burial in Orange Grove Cemetery in the Orange Grove Community.
Cecil Gavin Chason
FOLEY, Ala. - Cecil Gavin Chason, 84, of Foley, AL, died peacefully in his home on Saturday, April 17. He was born in Chatom, AL, on July 11, 1914, and moved to Bay Minette in 1926. He played football at Spring Hill College, and upon graduation, attended the University of Alabama, as city attorney. He also represented Farmers' and Merchants' and South Baldwin Banks. He served as attorney for South Baldwin Hospital for more than 15 years.
He was Director and President of the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce. He received the Walton Vines "Free Enterprise Person of the Year" award, and was named "Title Person of the Year" by the Dixie Land Title Association in 1987. He was President of Coastal Title, Inc., general council for Gulf Coast Title Co., Inc., Riviera Utilities and Baldwin Mutual Insurance Company. He was past president of Foley Kiwanis Club and recipient of the Rotary Club's Paul Harris Fellow award. He was a member of the Governor's Mansion Committee and was involved in the formation of the Gulf Shore Golf Club and served as director. A "Cecil G. Chason Endowed Scholarship" was established at the University of Alabama, Pam Moses of Gulfport, and Junie Underwood of Foley, Alabama; grandchildren, Misha Alexander of Birmingham, Alabama, Chad Wachter of Auburn, Alabama, Ashley Clarke of Magnolia Springs, Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
