Carey Hartwell Strain
Funeral: 11:30 a.m. today at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home Chapel in Bay St. Louis.
DIAMONDHEAD - Carey Hartwell Strain, 50, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, in Bay St. Louis.
Mr. Strain was a native of Halls, Tenn., and a resident of Diamondhead.
Survivors include his wife, Gretchen Rains Strain of Diamondhead; a son, Joshua Strain; his parents, Hartwell and Anne Rooks Strain of Halls; a sister, Melinda Smith of Nashville, Tenn.; and four grandchildren.
A service will be at 11:30 a.m. today at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis where friends may call a half hour before service time.

Dora Hinton Taylor
Funeral: 11 a.m. today at the Mount Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church in Long Beach.
LONG BEACH - Dora Hinton Taylor, 71, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, in Gulfport.
Ms. Taylor was a native of Hattiesburg and had been a resident of Long Beach for 50 years. She was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church in Long Beach where she served as an usher. She was employed with Dr. and Mrs. Ira Gaddy for 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clem and Lois Russell Hinton; a sister, Lucille Pleasant; two brothers, James Hinton and Johnell Hinton; and a grandson, Juan Taylor.
Survivors include five daughters, Juanita Taylor, Judy Marshall, Laura Taylor, Louise Maye, all of Long Beach, and Rebecca "DeeDee" Dickerson of Jacksonville, Fla.; five sons, James Taylor Jr., Avery Taylor Sr., Joseph Taylor, Robert Taylor and Derrick Taylor, all of Long Beach; five sisters, Josephine Adams of Pittsburg, Calif., Edna Williams, Mary DeLoach, both of Gulfport, and Christine Anderson of Hazelhurst; a brother, Samuel Hinton of Gulfport; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Friday, Aug. 11, at the Mount Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. A service will be at 11 a.m. today at the church with burial in Pine Ridge Garden Cemetery in Gulfport. Lockett-Williams' Mortuary in Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.
Mary E. Wright
Funeral: 2 p.m. today at the Church of Christ in Gulfport.
GULFPORT - Mary E. Wright, 83, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Wright was a native of Wiggins and had been a resident of Gulfport for over 60 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Gulfport where she was a Sunday School teacher, Bible Study leader and a choir member.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Wright Sr.; four sons, Willie Wright, Johnny Wright, Billie Wright and John Wright; two daughters, Mary Louise Morgan and Rosa Lee Wright; four sisters, Rachel Scott, Laura Thomas, Ora Kay Griffin and Louise Gaddy; and three brother, Charles Gaddy, Earnest Gaddy and Milton Gaddy.
Survivors include two sons, Fred Wright Jr. and Ray Wright, both of Gulfport; four daughters, Shella Barnes, Barbara Wright, Helen McClemore, all of Gulfport, and Irma Jean Gregory of Milwaukee; 50 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
A service will be at 2 p.m. today at the Church of Christ in Gulfport where friends may call an hour before service time. Burial will be in Monroe Memorial Park in Gulfport. Lockett-Williams' Mortuary in Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.
Beulah Breeland
GULFPORT - Beulah Breeland, 69, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000.
Arrangements are incomplete at Hartwell's Christian Mortuary in Gulfport.
Frank Dawsey
Funeral: 2:30 p.m. Sunday at New Palestine Baptist Church.
PICAYUNE - Frank "Butch" Dawsey, 76, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, in New Orleans.
Mr. Dawsey was a native of Hancock County and a resident of Picayune. He was an electrician and a member of New Palestine Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Dawsey of Picayune; a daughter, Shelia Lewis of Livingston, Ohio; two brothers, Victor "Pete" Fortner and Ray Fortner, both of Wiggins; two sisters, Inez Smith of Wiggins and Merna Hester of Perkinston; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be after noon today at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, U.S. 49 North, Gulfport, with a service to follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Janice Cemetery in Perry County.
Carla Darlene Hall
Funeral: 11 a.m. today at the Holder-Wells Funeral Home Chapel in Moss Point.
GAUTIER - Carla Darlene Hall, 37, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, in Pascagoula.
Mrs. Hall was born April 1, 1963, in Pascagoula. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Curtis Oney; three daughters, Denise Suttles of Gautier, Julie Emel of Pascagoula and Kristina Oney of Gautier; a son, Curtis Oney of Gautier; her parents, Norman and Janie Hall of Gautier; a brother, Kenneth Hall of Gautier; two sisters, Barbara McCauley of Pascagoula and Carlene Jordan of Big Point; and a grandchild.
Visitation will be after 9 a.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point with a service to follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Griffin Cemetery in Moss Point.
Patricia Hannaghan
Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday at St. John's Catholic Church in Gulfport.
GULFPORT - Patricia Hannaghan, 58, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Hannaghan was a native and lifelong resident of Gulfport. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Gulfport.
She was preceded in death by her father, Louie V. McDaniel; her mother, Lena-Lou Burton; and a brother, L.V. McDaniel.
Survivors include her husband, David Hannaghan; three daughters, Sonia Renee Buckman, Kathleen Richmond and Patricia Hannaghan; a son, Richard Dale Mouring, all of Gulfport; two brothers, R.D. McDaniel of Texas; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Ave., Gulfport. A service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Fayards Cemetery in Waveland.
Eileen May Patterson
Funeral: 11 a.m. today at St. Thomas Catholic Church.
LONG BEACH - Eileen May Patterson, 75, died Tuesday, October 10, 2000, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Patterson was a native of New Orleans and a resident there for over 33 years. She had been a resident of Long Beach for the past 42 years. She graduated from high school in New Orleans and worked as a loan officer for Hancock Bank until she retired in 1991. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Knight of Columbus and was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church where she served as Eucharistic Minister.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar J. Patterson, Sr., and a brother, T.J. Casey.
Survivors include a son, Edgar J. "Pat" Patterson, Jr., of Merced, CA; a daughter, Eileen Patterson Duckworth of Ridgeland, MS; and five grandchildren, John Patrick, Kelly, David, Patrick and Elizabeth.
A service will be at 11 a.m. today, October 14, 2000, at St. Thomas Catholic Church where friends may call an hour before service time. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. today in St. Louis Cemetery No. 3, New Orleans, LA. Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Avenue, Gulfport, is in charge of arrangements.

Joseph Leo Asselin
GULFPORT - Joseph Leo Asselin, 72, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, in Gulfport.

Harold Leigh Becker Jr.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Riemann Funeral Home Chapel in Long Beach.
LONG BEACH - Harold Leigh Becker Jr., 81, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, in Gulfport.
Mr. Becker was a native of Kansas City, Mo., and a longtime Long Beach resident. He was a graduate of Emory University in Atlanta and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was assistant manager for Coast Electric Power Co. in Bay St. Louis for 25 years and, before that, Sears-Roebuck in Atlanta and Gulfport. He was a member of Sigma Chi, Lions Club and Long Beach Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lena and Harold Becker Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Jane R. Becker of Long Beach; a son, Harold Leigh Becker III of San Diego; two daughters, Susan Antoine of Clinton and Nancy Ruhl of Madison; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Riemann Funeral Home Chapel in Long Beach. A service will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.

Minnie Mildred Carroll
Funeral: 2 p.m. today at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel in Picayune.
CARRIERE - Minnie Mildred Carroll, 79, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, in Carriere.
Mrs. Carroll was a native of Picayune and a resident of Carriere. She was employed as a nurse for five years before becoming a full-time homemaker for the past 40 years. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two sons, Nova A. Carroll and Franklin Earl Carroll, both of Carriere; two daughters, Gloria Jean Hennes of Carriere and Scheryl Anne Ng of Ridgeland; three brothers, Virgil Seal of Tucson, Ariz., Clifton Seal and Edward Seal, both of Carriere; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be after 9 a.m. today at McDonald Funeral Home in Picayune with a service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in White Chapel Cemetery in Carriere.
