LAKESHORE - Mary Jane Ladner, 59, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, in Lakeshore.
Arrangements are incomplete at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis.
John R. Manke Jr.
LONG BEACH - John R. Manke Jr., 57, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, in Biloxi.
Mr. Manke was a native of Hampton, Va., and had been a resident of the Coast for three years. He was a retired corrections officer for the state of Calif.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home Chapel in Pascagoula where friends may call an hour before service time. Burial will be in Serene Memorial Gardens in Escatawpa.
The family prefers memorials to Central Church of Christ in Pascagoula.
Bernice E. Morris
Funeral: 2 p.m. today at Cedar Lake United Methodist Church.
BILOXI - Mrs. Bernice E. Morris, 95, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Morris was a native and lifelong resident of Harrison County. She was a homemaker and was a longtime member of Cedar Lake United Methodist Church in Biloxi, where she was a member of the Golden Oldies and Ladies Fellowship.
She was preceded in death by her husband, B.F. "Bill" Morris; a son, Albert Joseph Morris; a daughter, Annie Lee Hood; three brothers, Jim Husley, Frank Husley and Fritz Husley; and three sisters, Ida Husley, Ada Hudson and Ernestine Robinson.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Clyde (Myrtis) Richard and Mrs. Wayne (Annie Mae) Williams, both of Biloxi; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Friday at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, U.S. 49 North, Gulfport. A service will be at 2 p.m. today at Cedar Lake United Methodist Church where friends may call two hours before service time. Burial will be in Morris Cemetery at Cedar Lake in Biloxi.
Willard Nichols
Funeral: 11 a.m. today at Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi.
D'IBERVILLE - Willard "Junior" Nichols, 47, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000.
Mr. Nichols was a lifelong resident of the Coast. He was a mechanic for Smith Universal Motors for many years and was recently employed with Lighthouse Pawn.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willard "Nick" Nichols.
Survivors include a daughter, Stevie Lynn Nichols of D'Iberville; a son, Willard "Nicky" Nichols of N.Y., and Francis Williams of Webster, Ohio; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes where friends may call an hour before service time.
Jimmie Clark
Funeral services: 1 p.m. Thursday at Victory Temple Worship Center in Gulfport.
GULFPORT - Jimmie Clark, 78, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 1998, in Gulfport.
Mr. Clark was a native of Decatur, Miss., and had been a resident of Gulfport for more than 30 years. He retired from the International Longshoreman Local No.1303 in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Frances Clark; his wife, Susie Mae Clark; and two daughters, Jimmie Lee Clark and Gloria Jean Clark Thomas.
Survivors include seven sons, Lester Clark of Jackson, Robert E. Bell, Joseph Bell, Walter Clark, Tony Clark, Raymond Clark and Larry Clark, all of Gulfport; five daughters, Mae Pruitt, Irene Bell, Annie Ruth McGhee, Willie Mae Clark and Mary Clark, all of Gulfport; two sisters, Willie Mae Morris and Lillie Mae Latham; and a brother, Willie Clark, all of Jackson.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at George and Lillian Lockett Memorial Chapel in Gulfport. A service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Victory Temple Worship Center in Gulfport, with burial in Pine Ridge Garden. Lockett-Williams' Mortuary in Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.
Arthur Cornish
Funeral services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula.
PASCAGOULA - Arthur "Art" Cornish, 73, died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, in Pascagoula.
Mr. Cornish was born April 18, 1925, in Brownsville, Pa., and had been a resident of Pascagoula since 1967. He was a retired Navy Submarine veteran and was also retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Louine Cornish.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Cornish of Pascagoula; four sons, Larry Cornish and Alfred Cornish, both of Escatawpa, Paul Cornish of Vancleave and Willian Cornish of Wis.; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula. A service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with burial in Biloxi City Cemetery.
Sue P. Culpepper
Funeral services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bayou View Baptist Church.
GULFPORT - Mrs. Sue P. Culpepper, 49, a resident of Gulfport, died Monday, September 14, 1998, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Culpepper, a native and lifelong resident of Gulfport, taught school 24 1/2 years before retiring as head of the Home Economics Department at Gulfport High School. She graduated from the University of Southern North Carolina.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Avenue in Gulfport. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bayou View Baptist Church, followed by burial in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
She will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Forestine Gager DeShurley
Funeral services: Mass at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Moss Point.
BILOXI- Forestine Gager Phillips DeShurley, daughter of Forest L. and Victoria Raby Gager, passed to her eternal heavenly home on September 12, 1998, in Biloxi, MS., where she had lived since 1995. She was a native of and spent most of her life in Jackson County, MS.
Her 89 year journey through life was filled with love and devotion to her family. She was a seamstress by profession, but in retirement served in many capacities as a Senior Citizen volunteer.
Forestine was first widowed by Louis R. Phillips Sr., her teenage love and father of their children, Helen (Mrs. Norman) McLeod of Houston, TX., Patsy (Mrs. W.R.) Prouse of Pascagoula, Louis R. (Skip) Phillips Jr. of Pascagoula and Annette (Mrs. Jerry O.) Terry of Biloxi.
In the golden years, she and her devoted late husband, William (Bill) DeShurley traveled extensively in teaching crafts and collecting gems. They were affectionately known as the "Rock Hounds".
Forestine was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Moss Point, the Ladies Altar Society, Order of the Eastern Star, Anna O'Neal Chapter and the Gulf Coast Gem and Mineral Club.
Forestine is survived by all of her children, 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Alice Brown of Lucedale. She was predeceased in death by two brothers, Jack Gager of Moss Point and Lawrence (Buddy) Gager of Jacksonville, Fla.
Services will be conducted from Holder-Wells Funeral Home, Moss Point, with visitation beginning at noon Thursday, the 17th of September, 1998, with Mass to be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moss Point at 2 p.m. She will be laid to her final resting place at Machpelah Cemetery, Pascagoula, MS.
