Arthur Morris Slater

OCEAN SPRINGS - Arthur Morris Slater, 84, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 1998, in Ocean Springs.
Mr. Slater was born in New Glascow, Nova Scotia and resided in Detroit until he retired to Orlando, Fla. He has been a resident of Ocean Springs since 1993. Mr. Slater was a Methodist.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Slater.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Frederick L. and Nancy Slater of Orlando, Robert A. and Shirley Slater of Ocean Springs, and James H. and Jean Slater of Maybee, Mich.
Private services will be held at a later date.
The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
Iddie Catherine Williams
Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, U.S. 49 North in Gulfport.
LYMAN - Mrs. Iddie Catherine Williams, 68, died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 1998, in Jacksonville, Fla.
Mrs. Williams was a native and lifelong resident of Gulfport. She was a Protestant and was a homemaker.
Survivors include three sons, Palmer G. Williams Jr. of Lyman, Marty J. Williams and Ron H. Williams, both of Gulfport; five daughters, Carolyn Mitchell, Judy Carter and Nancy Lewis, all of Gulfport, Beverly Broxson of Prattville, Ala., and Patricia Williams of Pass Christian; a brother, Arnold Saucier of Gulfport; two sisters, Lelia Eley of Lyman and Vittie Creed of Gulfport; 30 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at 10 a.m. Monday at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, U.S. 49 North in Gulfport. A service will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel, with burial in Allen Cemetery in Long Beach.
Maurine B. Deville
BILOXI - Maurine B. Deville, 80, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 1998, in Biloxi.

James I. Harvey Sr.
BILOXI - Mr. James Ira Harvey Sr., 55, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 1998, in Ocean Springs.
Mr. Harvey was born in Yemassee, S.C., on Dec. 4, 1942. He was the plantation manager with Cherokee Plantation in Yemassee for many years. He was a member of the Yemassee Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Brantley and Agnes Irene Gibson Harvey.
Survivors include a son, James Harvey Jr. of D'Iberville; a daughter, Samantha Irene Harvey of Meridian; two brothers, Wade Harvey of Kissimmee, Fla., and Thomas Harvey of Hampton; a sister, Marion Fender of Vernon, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. today at Ebenezer Cemetery in Yemassee where friends may call before services. Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton is in charge of arrangements.
Marilyn A. O'Brien
BILOXI - Marilyn Ann O'Brien, 63, of N. Biloxi died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998, in Biloxi.
Mrs. O'Brien was born in New Orleans and had been a resident of Biloxi for the past six years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D'Iberville and was a homemaker.
She was prececed in death by a sister, Ceile Strecker.
Survivors include her husband, John P. O'Brien of N. Biloxi; a daughter, Deborah A. O'Brien of Gulfport; three sons, John P. O'Brien Jr. of Mobile, Michael P. O'Brien of N. Biloxi and Robert P. O'Brien of Gulfport; two sisters, Norma Rizk of Metairie, La., and Beryl Katchur of Baton Rouge; a half-brother, William Neupert of New Orleans; and seven grandchildren.
A service will be held at noon Tuesday at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi where friends may call two hours before service time. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.

Bertha H. Stevison
GULFPORT - Mrs. Bertha Harrison Stevison, 81, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Stevison was a native of Waynesboro and had been a Coast resident for 25 years. She retired after 36 years as a school teacher and had taught 23 years at Clara High School, and 13 years at Saucier Elementary School. She was a member of Olivet Baptist Church and a member of Eastern Star #397.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mathew M. and Adeline Cooley Harrison; three sisters, Velma Snellgrove, Gladys Pitts and Alma Mozingo; and a brother, J.D. Harrison.
Survivors include a son, Harold V. Stevison; two brothers, Pat Harrison of Waynesboro and Thomas Harrison of Laurel; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, U.S. 49 North in Gulfport. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel followed by a graveside service at 3 p.m. at the Shirley Place Cemetery in Wayne County.
Imojean Wright
GULFPORT - Imojean Wright, 66, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998, in Gulfport.
She was preceded in death by a son, Rocky Albert Gnotke.
Survivors include her mother, Lima Bray Hayes of Jasper, Ala.; a son, Tony Dee Hayes; a daughter, Linda Gail Armstrong, both of Gulfport; two brothers, Billy J. Hayes and Jimmy Ray Hayes, both of Jasper; and two sisters, Lorene Jenkins of Jasper and Gwendolyn Guinn of Oakman, Ala.
There will be no services. Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Avenue in Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.
Helen J. Hammer
LONG BEACH - Helen Jeanette "Collins" Hammer, 73, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998, in Rankin County.
Mrs. Hammer was a native of Cuevas and was a resident of Long Beach.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd William Hammer; and by a son, Lloyd Michael Hammer.
Survivors include a son, John Hammer of Long Beach; a brother, Chester Collins of Pass Christian; and four sisters, Mary Kehr of Miami, Ada Randall of Long Beach, Oneita Pennylegion and Dot Brown, both of Pass Christian.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Riemann Funeral Home in Long Beach where friends may call an hour before service time. Burial will be in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.
Edith C. Deschamp
PASS CHRISTIAN - Mrs. Edith Catledge Deschamp, 85, Hilbert Deschamp Road, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998, in Jackson.
Mrs. Deschamp was a native of Choctaw County. She was an LPN, nurse in the medical profession. She was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church in the Necaise Crossing community in Perkinston.
Survivors include her husband, Hilbert J. Deschamp of Pass Christian; a daughter, Alice Fleming of North Little Rock, Ark.; a son, Clyde Deschamp of Jackson; a brother, James Catledge; a sister, Irene Bush, both of Memphis; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 p.m. until service time Wednesday at St. Matthews Catholic Church with recitation of the rosary at 8 p.m. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with burial in Alphonse Malley Memorial Cemetery (formerly Fenton/Sandhill Cemtery) in Pass Christian. McDonald Funeral Home in Picayune is in charge of arrangements.
Agnelia L. Ladner
PASS CHRISTIAN - Agnelia Laura Ladner, 83, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998, in Bay St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer P. Ladner; and a son, Leland P. Ladner.
Survivors include a son, Carl L. Ladner of Pass Christian; three foster sons, Rocky Herring and George Reyer Jr., both of Pass Christian, and Anthony Herring of Florence; a brother, Hayward P. Ladner of Pass Christian; and a sister, Loney Moran of Gulfport.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Dubuisson where friends may call an hour before services. Burial will be in Wolf River Cemetery. Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, U.S. 49 North in Gulfport, is in charge of arrangements.
