Private graveside services were held June 11, 2003, at Sunrise Cemetery for Dola Barnes Bond, 68, of Petal, who died June 9 at Forrest General Hospital.
Rev. Liburn McCullough officiated.
A lifelong resident of Forrest County, Mrs. Bond was a cashier for the USM Food Services for 15 years. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church of the Sunrise Community.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Ross Barnes.
Survivors include a son, Lemmie Lee Aldridge, Jr., of Petal; a sister, Libby Geraci of Hattiesburg; a brother, Billy Barnes of Hattiesburg; and a grandson, Forrest Dale Aldridge of Petal.
Moore Funeral Home of Hattiesburg was in charge of arrangements.

COLUMBIA
Services were held Thursday, June 12, 2003, at Faithway Baptist Church for Faye Broom, 64, of Columbia, who died June 10 at Forrest General Hospital.
Burial was in Faithway Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Broom was a homemaker and a member of Faithway Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Earl Broom of Columbia; three sisters, Erma Lou Lucas and Rose Mary Alexander of Lucedale; and two brothers, Eugene Blackard of Mobile, Ala., and Kenneth Blackard of Sumrall.
Colonial Funeral Home of Columbia was in charge of arrangements.

HATTIESBURG
Services were held Saturday, June 14, 2003, at Nazareth Baptist Church in Hintonville Community for Charles “Tiny” Burden, 50, of Hattiesburg, who died June 6 at Forrest General Hospital.
Burial was in the Hintonville Community Cemetery.
Survivors include a brother, Thomas Smith of Georgia; and a grandchild.

Graveside services were held Sunday, June 15, 2003, at Memorial Gardens Cemetery for Daniel Gregory Dillon, 32, of Laurel, who died June 11 at Oschner’s Foundation Hospital in New Orleans.
Survivors include his parents, Daniel and Alice Dillon of Laurel, and a sister, Rhonda D. Cheramie of Golden Meadow, La.
Memory Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel was in charge of arrangements.

MENDENHALL
Services were held Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at First Baptist Church in Mendenhall for Henry Claude Everett Jr., 84, of Mendenhall, who died June 8 at Simpson General Hospital.
Burial was in Braxton City Cemetery.
Mr. Everett served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and retired as a serviceman after working 40 years with Michigan, Mrs. Griffen had lived in Purvis for the past eight years. She was co-owner of Griff-Inn Restaurant in Cadillac, Michigan; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

COLUMBIA
Services were held Friday, June 13, 2003, at Colonial Funeral Home for Lajena M. Halbert 55, of Columbia, who died June 9 at her residence.
Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Quitman.
Mrs. Halbert was a registered nurse and a member of First Baptist Church of Columbia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Clay Martin, Sr., and Annie Lee Ivey Martin.
Survivors include a son David Halbert of Hattiesburg; a daughter, Dawn Strahan of Petal; a brother, Clay Martin of Dallas; and a grandchild.

HATTIESBURG
Graveside services were held Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Highland Cemetery for Eula M. Liston, 89, of Hattiesburg, who died June 14 at her home.
Rev. Tommy Artmann and Rev. Nelson Walley officiated.
A longtime resident of Hattiesburg, Mrs. Liston was a native of Taylorsville and was retired from Reliance Manufacturing Company where she was a seamstress for 24 years. She was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ithemer Liston.
RUDIS H. LIVERETT
PETAL
Services were held Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home for Rudis H. Liverett, 91, of Petal, who died June 7 at Bedford Care Center.
Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Mr. Liverett was a retired train engineer with Southern Railroad. He was a member of Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Susie Ann Liverett, and a son, Rudis H. Liverett of Biloxi.
Survivors include Jerome C. Liverett of Grovetown, Ga., Thomas H. Liverett of Petal and Robert Nathan Liverett of Waveland; two daughters, Patricia Ann Partridge of Mt. Vernon, Wash., and Carolyn Sue Redmond of Petal; three sisters, Irene Gilbert, Ila Stephens and Lila Saucier, all of Petal; two brothers, Ray Liverett and Joe Liverett, both of Petal; and 22 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday, June 14, 2003, at Jones Funeral for Vernell Simmons Lowery, 66, of Petal, who died June 12.
Elder Neal Davis, Mike Miller and James Broome officiated.
Burial was in Ladner Muscelrath Cemetery.
Mrs. Lowery was born and raised in Oak Grove. She was a member of Moselle Faithway Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Lowery of Petal; two daughters, Lanell Bryant of Sanford and Cheryl Shows of Eastabuchie; two brothers, James L. Simmons of Sanford and Lavern Simmons of Sumrall; and four grandchildren.
Jones Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
EDWIN MERCER III

Services were held Saturday at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home for Edwin D. “Sonny” Mercer III, 54, of Petal, formerly of Clinton, who died June 12 at Wesley Medical Center.
Burial was in Frisco Cemetery.
Mr. Mercer worked for Hancock Bank and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Mercer of Petal; two sons, Neal Mercer of Concord, N.C., and Nathan Mercer of Petal; and two sisters, Sandy Bass of Hattiesburg and Tay Cotton of Baton Rouge, La.
