Hugh R. Benvenutti
Funeral: Noon Monday at St. Bernard Funeral Home in Chalmette, La.
CHALMETTE, La. - Hugh R. "Ben" Benvenutti, 69, died Wednesday, March 23, 2000.
Mr. Benvenutti was a member of the Ports Association of Mississippi Valley Coal Trade and Transport Council, Crescent City River Pilots Association, Perry Bass and Plaquemines Parish Government, Knights of Columbus, the VFW and American Legion Post 0193.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph N. and Cornelia Benvenutti; and a brother, Joseph H. Benvenutti.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Ragas Benvenutti; three daughters, Debra Ruiz, Denise Prados and Kim HabHab; a sister, Wanda Goodsell of Bay St. Louis; a brother, Leonard Benvenutti; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 tonight at St. Bernard Funeral Home, 701 West Virtue Street, Chalmette, La. A mass will be at noon Monday at the funeral home where friends may call from 9 a.m. to service time. Burial will follow in Green wood Cemetery.
Marie Augustine Bradley
Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday at the Diamondhead Community Church.
DIAMONDHEAD - Marie Augustine Hourcade Bradley, 84, died Friday, March 24, 2000, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Bradley was born in New Orleans and had been a resident of Diamondhead for 23 years. She was of the Protestant faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Bradley Jr.; and her parents, Emile and Honorine Hourcade.
Survivors include four sons, William L. Bradley III of Portland, Ore., Robert C. Bradley, Allen E. Bradley and Alvin H. Bradley, all of New Orleans; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Diamondhead Community Church. A private graveside service will be held at Lake Lawn Cemetery in New Orleans. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.

GULFPORT - Martha L. Carney, 61, died Saturday, March 25, 2000, in Biloxi.

Gertrude Elam
BILOXI - Gertrude Elam, 96, died Saturday, March 25, 2000, in Biloxi.
Mrs. Elam was sent from the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi to Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, Mo., for services and burial.
Nellie Fagan
Funeral: Graveside at 1 p.m. April 20 in Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport.
GULFPORT - Nellie Carpenter Fagan, 75, died Friday, March 24, 2000, in Gulfport.
A Gulfport native and a 1941 graduate of Gulfport High School, she was the daughter of the late Olivia and Robert F. Carpenter. She was a past member of the Gulfport Garden Club and the Gulfport Jr. Women's Club. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gulfport.
Mrs. Fagan met her husband, Frank Fagan, a Gulf Coast Hotelier, at the Edgewater Hotel, and they were married for over fifty years. Nellie and Frank moved to Wakulla Springs, FL, in 1961, returning to the Coast in 1971, where they enjoyed many years fishing Chandeleur and Free Mason Islands on their boat, "Poker Face." The Fagans' miraculous waterspout survival in 1979 drew world-wide attention when their rental camp on Free Mason Island was overturned and blown into the Gulf by a tornado.
Mrs. Fagan enjoyed gardening, playing cards, her hummingbirds and traveling with her sons, Pat and Randy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Fagan; son, Russell D. Fagan; and sister, Gwendolyn Risley.
She is survived by her son and companion, Patrick E. Fagan, Gulfport; son, Randolph F. Fagan and daughter-in-law, Joedna Fagan, Ocean Springs; grandsons, Russell D. Fagan Jr., Rogers, AR, Randolph F. Fagan Jr., Vienna, VA, Todd R. Fagan and Cobia C. Fagan, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; granddaughter, Dana Fagan, Macon, GA; and great-grandchildren, Olivia C. Fagan and Randolph F. Fagan III, Vienna, VA.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 20, 2000, at 1 p.m. in Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport. Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, U.S. 49 North, Gulfport, is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the American Cancer Society, First United Methodist Church of Gulfport or one's favorite charity.
Wayne E. Ferrell
Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Faith United Methodist Church in Pascagoula.
PASCAGOULA - Wayne E. "Happy" Ferrell, 81, died Saturday, March 25, 2000, in Pascagoula.
Mr. Ferrell was born Aug. 23, 1918, in Promise City, Iowa. He retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding as an inspector after 23 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Lorene Ryals Ferrell; his parents, Harry A. Ferrell and Effie Gartin Ferrell; and a sister, Velma Donald.
Survivors include a daughter, Julia Nan Buford of Pascagoula; two sons, Wayne E. Ferrell Jr. of Jackson and Allen Ferrell of Pascagoula; two sisters, Lorene Bouy of Corydon, Louisiana, January 2, 1922. She was schooled in Lake Charles, LA, and graduated from Lake Charles High School in 1939. She had been a resident of Pass Christian for the past 23 years. She had been a member of the New Orleans Unity Society for most of her life.
An avid golfer, she had been an active member of Pass Christian Isles Golf Club since moving to the coast.
Ms. Perkins spent most of her working life in New Orleans where she was a pioneer in Women's Business. She founded F&A Map Company, which was incorporated in October 1955. She retired as President of the Corporation in 1983. She also co-founded and was president of F&A Oil Reports Inc.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Alpha Prater Perkins; her father, Frank Perkins Sr.; a half-brother, Roland "Mutt" Terrell; a brother, Frank Perkins Jr.; and a nephew, Benson Terrell.
Survivors include her longtime companion, Joyce Burks of Pass Christian, MS; her sister-in-law, Mrs. Frank (Fern Franklin) Perkins Jr.; three nieces, Mrs. Barbara Trice of Shreveport, LA, Mrs. Mary Lou Covington and Mrs. Linda Dowles of Lake Charles, LA; and nephew, Frank Terrell, also of Lake Charles.
The family expresses special thanks to Mrs. Barbara Turbeville, Dr. Purushottam Pande and the Hospice of Memorial Hospital at Gulfport.
Arrangements are being handled by Riemann Funeral Home of Gulfport. A memorial service is planned for a later date.
Noah W. Robinson
GULFPORT - Noah W. Robinson, 86, died Friday, March 24, 2000, in Biloxi.
Mr. Robinson was sent from Riemann Memorial Funeral Home in Biloxi to Ott-Lee Funeral Home in Forest for services and burial.
Alice Roth
Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church, Bay St. Louis.
BAY ST. LOUIS - Alice Camors Roth, 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 24, 2000, in Bay St. Louis, at her home.
Mrs. Roth was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Bay St. Louis. She was of the Catholic faith and a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlyle Victor and Yvonne Loeliger Camors.
She was the beloved wife of Richard Joseph Roth and mother of Yvonne Roth Gelpi, Alice Roth Morgan, Kathleen G. Roth, Richard Joseph Roth Jr., Camors Christopher Roth, James Frederich Roth and Brian David Roth. She was also the grandmother of 25 grandchildren and great-grandmother of 13 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, March 27, 2000, at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church where friends may call an hour before service time. Private graveside services will be held at the Metairie Cemetery in New Orleans. The Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis is in charge of arrangements.
The family prefers memorials to Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church, Bay St. Louis, or the Academy of the Sacred Heart Children of Mary, New Orleans.
Samuel Robert Wiegartner
Funeral: 3 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Long Beach.
LONG BEACH - Samuel "Sam" Robert Wiegartner, 11, died Friday, March 24, 2000, in New Orleans.
Sam was a student at Quarles Elementary School and attended Camp Smile-a-Mile.
Survivors include his parents, Brian and Jane Wiegartner of Long Beach; a brother, Jay Wiegartner of Long Beach; and his grandparents, Sara Underwood of New Albany, Miss., and Robert and Doris Wiegartner of Monroe Township, N.J.
Visitation was held Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Long Beach. A service will be at 3 p.m. today in the church where friends may call from 1 p.m. to service time. Committal services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in New Albany, Miss. Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Ave., Gulfport, is in charge of arrangements.
