Donald Evans
Graveside services for Donald Evans, 87, of Kosciusko, formerly of Ethel, were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Stonewall Cemetery near Ethel.
Evans, a native of Leake County, died July 23, 2001 at the Attala County Nursing Center. He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Ethel United Methodist Church.
Evans, widower of Wilbur Illinois Central Railroad where he was employed as a brakeman. He was a member of the United Transportation Union and the Thomastown Christian Church, a community he was extremely fond of.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Miller Jordan of Clinton; his mother, Dorothy Arnold Jordan of Thomastown; sons, Bill Jordan of Brandon, Randy Jordan of Clinton; daughter, Pam Johnson of Stonewall; grandchildren, Christopher Jordan, Kenneth Jordan, Bailey Hutchison.
Memorials may be made to the Thomastown Christian Church, Thomastown, Miss., or the Jordan family Cemetery Fund, Carthage, Miss.
Houston C. Kyzer
Services for Houston C. Kyzer, 65, of Durant were held Friday at 11 a.m. at Southern Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Mizpah Cemetery.
Kyzer, retired fire chief for the City of Durant, died July 18, 2001 at his residence.
He is survived by his mother, Dollie Kyzer of Durant; a son, Mark Wellman of Durant; a brother, Ross Kyzer of Durant; a sister, Jane Blackmon of Carrollton; a number of nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Willie Bishop officiated.
Pallbearers were Jerry Bankhead, Howard Harris, Al Jobe, Andy Ledbetter, Kerry Ellington and Sonny McCrory.
Honorary pallbearers were Johnny Toten, Don Buchanan and Charles Hudson.
Memorials may be made to the Firefighters Association.
Mildred McNair
Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred McNair, 87, of Carthage were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Singleton United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Mrs. McNair, a native of Leake County, died July 20, 2001 at her residence. She was the former owner of McNair\'s Grocery. She was a member of the Singleton United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Joe McNair of Carthage; a son, Dwain McNair of Carthage; a sister, Bernadine Scarborough of Carthage; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Jeff Morrison and the Rev. Chris Turner officiated.
Mary Lavenia Baldy
Services for Mrs. Mary Lavenia Baldy, 79, of Kosciusko were held Jan. 31 at 11 a.m. at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Parkway Cemetery.
Mrs. Baldy died Jan. 29, 2002 at the Vicksburg Convalescent Home.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Baldy; daughter, Norma Goad and son-in-law, Edwin Goad Sr. of Paris, Tenn.; grandchildren, Edwin Goad Jr., Robert L. Goad and Michael Goad; five great-grandchildren,Mary Goad, Larry Goad, Megan Goad, Joshua Goad, Jason Goad.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Read McLemore.
Claudia C. Bean
Memorial services for Mrs. Claudia Clyburn Bean, 82, of the East Fork Community of Amite County, were held Jan. 16 at 11 a.m. at Hartman Funeral Home Chapel in McComb.
Mrs. Bean, a native of Calif.; four sisters, Opal Tennison, Dorothy Jackson, Nadine Tennison and Barbara Browley all of Tyler, Carter of Mathiston; her mother, Geneva Williams of Eupora; a daughter, Casondra Russell of Mathiston; a son, Dustin N.Y.; two sons, William Joseph Massie and Marvin Russell Massie of Grenada; three sisters, Marlene Smith of Knoxville, Tenn., Betty Odom of Covington, La., and Barbara English of Grenada; two brothers, Clay Busbea and David Busbea of Kosciusko; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

James C. Parham
Pinehurst, N.C.
James Campbell Parham of Pinehurst, N.C., died Jan. 31, 2002 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born in Kosciusko in 1914 and was the son of the late Hosmer and Ava Parham. He attended Tennessee. He became a Certified Public Accountant and became well known in the bakery industry for his accounting systems and management skills. He served as Chief Financial Officer for C.J. Patterson Company, President of Bell Bakeries Inc., Chief Executive Officer of American Bakers Cooperative and retired in 1977 as Vice President from Arnold Bakers of Green wich, Conn.
After retirement he was a member of the International Executive Service Corp and traveled to the Philippines, Korea, Sri Lanka, and Guatemala as a consultant to the bakery industry. He was a member of the American Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Society of Bakery Engineers, The Village Chapel in Pinehurst, Pinehurst Country Club and a former member and vice president of the Kiwanis Club.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Perkins Parham of Pinehurst; his sister, Joyce Brown of Shreveport, La.; sons, Leon Parham of Cape Charles, Va., and James C. Parham Jr. of Solebury, Pa., and grandsons Andrew and Matthew Parham.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Parham, and sisters Janice Bond, Josephine Beatley, and his wife of 60 years Charlotte Fuller Parham.
A memorial service will the held at The Village Chapel with the date to be announced.

Ella Perteet
Services for Mrs. Ella Perteet, 87, of Kosciusko were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church with burial in Brooks Cemetery.
Mrs. Perteet, a native of Attala County, died Jan. 31, 2002 at the Attala Nursing Center following an illness of several years. She was a member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a step son, Rodolphus Simpson; a number of nieces, nephews and her guardian, Mrs. Clara Newell.
The Rev. Roosevelt Gage officiated. Winters Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Birdie Mae Stonestreet
Funeral services for Mrs. Birdie Mae Whitten Stonestreet, 85, of Pensacola, Fla., formerly of Kosciusko, were held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was in Parkway Cemetery.
Mrs. Stonestreet, a native of New Albany, died Jan. 30, 2002 in Pensacola. She was a homemaker and was employed by Merchants and Farmers Bank in Kosciusko for 32 years, retiring in 1981 as vice president/trust officer.
She was a graduate of New Albany High School and Chillicothe Business College. She served in many capacities on the local, state and national levels of the National Association of Banking Women. She was the first woman speaker at the Mississippi Federation of Business and Professional Women's Club and "Woman of Achievement 1969". Her name is also listed in Who's Who of American Women, 7th Edition, 1971. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Stonestreet, Sr.
She is survived by a daughter, Sylvia Stonestreet Flowers of Pensacola, Fla.; a son, William G. Stonestreet Jr. of Rochester Mills, Mich.; a sister, Mary Louise Walker of Gulfport; a brother, Homer Wade Whitten of Milton, Fla.; grandchildren, Mark W. Flowers of Jacksonville, N.C., S. Christian Flowers of Garfield, N.J., Deana F. Lewis of Pensacola, Fla., Roxanna Mae Kratz of Pensacola, William G. Stonestreet III of Rochester Hills, Eberley D. Stonestreet of Valdosta, Ga; great-grandchildren, Renee L. Flowers, Leticha A. Flowers, A. Brent Lewis, Sylvia M. Kratz and Michael F. Kratz Jr. and two great-great-grandchildren, Lori M. Locklear and Emily R. Locklear.

Curtis Lee Wilder Jr.
Services for Curtis Lee Wilder Jr., 31, of Kosciusko were held Jan. 31 at 2 p.m. at Jackson Street First Baptist Church with burial in Parkway Cemetery.
Wilder, a native of Attala County, died Jan. 25, 2002 at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Wilder of Memphis, Tenn.; his mother, Marie Wilder of Kosciusko; three daughters, Karysha Bell, Miarcle Ward and Odessa Staffney; six sisters, Daisy, Brenda, LaShawn, Tabita, Debra and Ella; a brother, two brothers, Kennedy and Willie Earl.
The Rev. Louiza Dixon officiated with Winters Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Ricky Wilder, Martin Perteet, Douglas Tucker, Reggie Smith, Bo Rimmer and Isiah Hall.
