FUNERAL SERVICES FOR CHESLEY MIMS BOGGAN 79 OF MENDENHALL, MS. WERE HELD FRIDAY JANUARY 28th AT 10:00 AM AT COLONIAL CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL IN MENDENHALL, MS. BURIAL WAS IN THE MACEDONIA BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY
MR. BOGGAN AN ADMINISTRATION MANAGER AND MEMBER OF MACEDONIA BAPTIST CHURCH DIED TUESDAY JANUARY 25,2005 AT HIS RESIDENCE IN MENDENHALL, MS. HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE JOVITA HOPKINS BOGGAN 1 SON GARY H. AND WIFE CONNIE BOGGAN OF LEAGUE CITY, Mississippi Air National Guard. He owned and operated a Gravely Tractor dealership in Florence for many years. He was born in Smith County to the late Buford Scarborough and Ethel Scarborough Meisenholder.
Mr. Scarborough was a mason and a member of the Plain Masonic Lodge. He was a Baptist and a member of the First Baptist Church of Richland.
After his retirement, he worked as a Richland park attendant for more than 10 years. He was an avid gardener and woodworker, known for his organic gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Allene Scarborough of Richland; four sons, Randy Scarbourough and wife Joyce of Richland, Mark Scarborough of Richland, Tim Scarborough and wife MellAnn of Mendenhall, and Jeffery Scarborough and wife Christy of Mendenhall; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Rosemary 'Sissy' Evans

Rosemary "Sissy" Evans, 53, died Feb. 26 at Texas, and Glenna Collums Morgan of Brandon; and grandchildren, Hartley and Dylan Evans. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Collums, in 1962.
Pallbearers were Keith Thomas, Doug Morgan, Taylor Morgan, Dwight Evans, T.J. Evans III and Sandy Evans.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Texas; mother, Hassie Clanton Williams of Star; brother, Billy W. Williams of Star; sister, Ethel Williams McCarthy of Star; grandchildren, Renee Williams Davito of Birmingham, Ala., Christine and Lauren Williams of Sugar Loaf, Pa., Leslie Williams James of Fayetteville, N.C., Kevin Brewer and Kimberly Brewer, both of Willis, Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
Services were held Feb. 22 at Goodwater Baptist Church in Smith County, with burial following in the church cemetery. The Rev. Henry Winstead and Rick Rogers officiated.
Mrs. Husbands was a native of Smith County, living in Jackson for the past 63 years. She was a member of the Griffith Memorial Baptist Church in Jackson. She was also a former member of the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include her two sons, Joe Husbands and wife Lou of Terry, and Tony Husbands of Terry; five grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and many loving friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Caley Husbands, an infant son, three sisters and two brothers.
Pallbearers were Mike Carroll, Charlie Franklin, Harold Lang, Sammy Peacock, Ronnie Odom and Phillip Rogers.
Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon was in charge of arrangements.
Ottis Ray Boykin

Ottis Ray Boykin, 85, died Feb. 20 at Brandon Court Nursing Home in Brandon after a long illness.
Services were held Feb. 23 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, with burial following in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl. The Rev. Todd Sanders and the Rev. R.C. Rice officiated.
Mr. Boykin was a native of Raleigh and had been a resident of Pearl for the past 47 years. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II and was retired from the Sonny Montgomery Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Jackson after 23 years of service. He was a member of Pearl United Methodist Church.
He is remembered with love by his wife of 56 years, Vera Boykin of Brandon; children, Wendell Ray Boykin and wife Linda of Ocean Springs, Vonnie Lee Warren of Flowood, Viola M. Boykin of Flowood, Robert N. Boykin and wife Deleisa of Brandon, Faye Dodds and husband David of Madison; eight grandchildren, Tracy Perkins, Mark M. Warren, Joshua Hammer, Jeremy Boykin, Justin Boykin, Shannon Boykin, Jason Boykin and Apryl Boykin; three great-grandchildren, Johnathon Perkins, Joseph Perkins and Brody Boykin; and two sisters, Lou Annie Luster of Plain View, Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.
Graveside services were held Feb. 22 in the Briar Hill Baptist Church cemetery in Florence. The Rev. Byron Howell officiated. Pallbearers were Charles Bridges, David Bridges, Jason Bridges, Marty Dement, Don Woodin and Joe Chapin.
Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Richland was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Ward was born Aug. 12, 1936 in Bonita, La. to the late James Douglas and Lonez Bridges Chapin. She was a graduate of Jet High School in Vicksburg and Hinds Community College in Raymond. She worked as a registered nurse in Vicksburg and Jackson for more than 22 years. She was a good Christian wife and mother. She had been a resident of Pelahatchie for eight years and a former resident of Richland. She attended Leesburg Baptist Church near Morton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, James Anthony "Andy" Ward; and two brothers, Larry Chapin and Jimmy Chapin.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, James William Ward of Pelahatchie; two sons, Allan Dale Ward and wife Janet of Gold Coast, Australia, and Timothy Douglas Ward of Iraq; two granddaughters, Emily Ward and Jenna Ward of Gold Coast, Australia; an uncle, Charles Bridges and wife Dorothy of Florence; and two aunts, Irene Woodin of Bastrop, La., and Jonnie Bray of Port Authur, Texas.
