Albert R. Adams

Albert R. Adams, Sr., 82, died April 5 at Covington County Hospital in Collins.
Services were held April 7 at Center Methodist Church in Liverpool, La., with burial in the church cemetery. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Adams was a native of Florida; sister Mary Nell Jones of Hobart, Okla.; grandchildren Janice Clayburn, Sylvia Barlow, Mary Hart, Tommie Hart, Debbie Henson, George Floyd, Glen Floyd, Patti Bowman, Gene Floyd and Vicki Brown; 20 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Oscar V. Burch
Brandon
Oscar V. Burch, 87, died April 27 at Rankin Medical Center in Brandon.
Services were held April 30 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, with burial following in Lakewood Memorial Park South in Jackson.
Mr. Burch was a charter member of Alta Mississippi Baptist Medical Center and was a member of Capital Lodge #600 F&AM. He enjoyed fishing with his son and hunting. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Wyse, sister-in-law Genoudlia Walker, and parents, Joe Willie and Lucille Nichols Wyse.
Survivors include son Randal Lee Wyse of Pearl; daughter Ronda Kay Moulder of Biloxi; and five grandchildren.
Mary Alice Ragland Stubblefield

Mary Alice Stubblefield, 83, died Aug. 6 at Brandon Court Nursing Home in Brandon.
Funeral services were held Aug. 9 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, with burial following in Old Brandon Cemetery.
Mrs. Stubblefield was a lifelong resident of Brandon and a charter member of Brandon Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe M. Stubblefield, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Webb Ragland, and her brother and sister-in-law, Warren and Elizabeth Ragland.
Mrs. Stubblefield is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Margaret Stubblefield of Flowood; her daughter, Mary Jo Stubblefield of Brandon; her granddaughter, Lindsey Stubblefield of Covington, La.; her grandson, David Stubblefield of Highlands, N.C.; and her brother and sister-in-law, Sidney and Margaret Ragland of Knoxville, Tenn. She is also survived by nieces, Ann Ragland Furse and husband Larry of Atlanta, Ga., Susan Ragland Hill and husband George of Meridian, and Lynne Ragland Bender and husband Jack of Knoxville, Tenn.; nephews, Doug Ragland and wife Jewell of Birmingham, Ala., and David Ragland and wife Robin of Snellville, Ga.; and a number of great nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Mississippi State Hospital. He was awarded the purple heart for service in the Army during the Vietnam era.
Survivors include his wife, Deloris Skinner; sons, Richard Skinner, Timothy Skinner, Tommy Skinner and David Capton; daughters, Angie Lee, Tonya (Missy) Skinner and Christi Brantley; brothers, Roger Skinner, Pete Skinner, Bobby Joe Skinner, Don Skinner and Jim Skinner; sisters, Bonnie Hemby and Jean Bomar; and 11 grandchildren.
Wayne Williams

Wayne Williams, 84, died Aug. 7 at University of Mississippi State Bulldog Club. He retired from Texas, and Kendall Cole of Crystal Springs; sister Fay Buffington of Crystal Springs; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Monte Lee McMahan Clendinning
Brandon
Mrs. Monte Lee McMahan Clendinning, 82, died May 2 from complications of Alzheimer's disease at Rankin Medical Center in Brandon.
Funeral services were held May 6 at First Baptist Church of Brandon, east campus, with interment following in Brandon Memorial Cemetery.
The youngest of five children born to David and Beulah Holeham McMahan, Mrs. Clendinning was born Oct. 19, 1922 in Batesville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers, David C. McMahan and Louis McMahan, and her sister, Louise McMahan Pinnix.
Monte McMahan graduated from Batesville High School in Batesville, Blue Mountain College in Blue Mountain and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Mississippi churches, including Northside (now Woodland Hills) Baptist Church in Jackson, First Baptist Church of Green wood and First Baptist Church of Philadelphia.
She was elected to the faculty of the School of Religious Education at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1955.
"The passion of her life has always been missions and missionary education," said her husband, Byron Arthur (Pat) Clendinning, whom she married in Batesville on July 21, 1957.
In 1958, she and her husband were appointed as foreign missionaries to teach European students and further the work of religious education at the International Baptist Seminary in Ruschlikon-Zurich, Switzerland.
Upon their return to the United States, Mrs. Clendinning worked with the Women's Missionary Union, the missions education arm of Southern Baptist churches, in her own and other churches, and taught adjunctively at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Beginning in the 1980s, she served as conference director for the World Missions Evangelism Center at Southwestern Seminary until her retirement in 1995.
She and her husband taught Sunday School and served faithfully in churches wherever they lived, including First Baptist Church of Nashville, Tenn; Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church in Atlanta, Ga.; Travis Avenue Baptist Church in Ft. Worth, Texas; and First Baptist Church in Brandon.
In 1993, her book, "My Place in God's Purpose: A Commentary for Women on Galatians and Ephesians," was published and distributed by New Hope Books.
As a conference leader, Mrs. Clendinning taught women's groups throughout the United States and was instrumental in helping develop Women's Ministry among Southern Baptists, serving as a mentor, advisor, and contributor to Lifeway personnel and publications.
Throughout her marriage, she and her husband traveled and ministered as marriage and family counselors to Baptist missionaries in Eastern and Western Europe, the Orient and West Africa.
She delighted in using the Internet to stay in contact with Southern Baptist missionaries and former seminary students.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Dr. B.A. (Pat) Clendinning, of Brandon; son David Clendinning of Tallahassee, Fla., and his daughter, Elizabeth Clendinning of Chicago, Ill.; son John Clendinning, his wife Lori, and their children, Corey, Jenna and Patrick Clendinning of Brandon; her sister, Mrs. J.B. (Nettie Mai) Lewis of Kosciusko; numerous nephews and nieces and other family members.
