Helen Racheal Smith, 17, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007 in Brandon. Funeral services were Feb. 1 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon with burial in Sims Hill Cemetery in Scott County.
Dr. Bob Jackson, Dr. Kevin Dobbs and the Rev. John Nugent officiated.
Racheal was a native and lifelong resident of Rankin County. She was a beautiful, loving and generous girl of great character. Her love for others was unparalleled. She believed in putting others before herself, as was seen by her generosity.
Racheal was a member of Brandon Baptist Church where she was interested in the Romanian Ministry.
She achieved as well as received numerous awards academically including: honor roll, United States Achievement Academy, Who's Who Among American High School Students, JROTC, as well as others.
She was a member of the FFA, Beta Club, Teenage Republicans and Mayor's Youth Council.
Racheal was invited to join the National Honor Society, the National Society of High School Scholars headed by Claes Nobel of the Nobel Prize Family, the Global Young Leader's Conference, the Congressional Student Leadership Conference, the National Student Leadership Conference and the Presidential Classroom.
She was also invited to join the Cambridge College Programme in Cambridge, England.
Her community activities included: Relay for Life, Walk for Diabetes, D-Day for Salvation Army and campaigning for Brandon Mayor Carlo Martella. She was loved by all who knew her.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather Judy and Gary Wilson, of Brandon; father Johnnie Ward Smith, of Magee; brothers Matthew Smith, of Brandon and Brian Smith, of Calif.; son, Robert Bradley Smith, of Berkley, Mich.; granddaughters, Sarah Caitlin Neary and Hannah Jane Neary; brothers, Walter Ray Pace and wife, Ruby, of Bailey, and Harrold Harrison Pace and wife, Mary, of Blackwater; sisters, Valerie Pace Bland, of Bailey, and Pat Pace Colwick, of Starkville; and close extended family, Dean and Joe Dearing, of Pearl, Linda McKeithe, of Pearl, and Paul and Pat Smith and Wilbur Smith, all of Lincoln, Neb.
Pallbearers were her nieces, Beverly Abrams, Joy McKeithen Andrews, Ronda Buckalew, Cynthia Laird, Lisa McKeithen, Lynn McKeithen, Teresa Mock, Rhonda Morrow, Judy Owens, Daphne Permenter Palmer, Dianne Parker, Stacey Roberts, Penny Robinson and Robin Seale.

Clarence Jones Sr.

Clarence Jones Sr., 77, died Sunday, April 22, 2007 at Rankin Medical Center in Brandon. Funeral services were April 28 at Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church Family Life Center in Brandon. Deans Memorial Funeral Home in Brandon handled the arrangements.
Mr. Jones was born March 13, 1930 in Rankin County and was the son of the late Climmie Jones and Mississippi in 1994 with her husband to nurture and love her grandchildren.
She loved poetry and penned beautiful poems of her family and her world. These will be cherished forever by those who remain.
She was everything a wife, mother, grandmother and friend could be and will be eternally missed.
Mrs. Ivy was preceded in death by a brother, David Austin.
She is survived by her husband, Fred L. Ivy of Brandon; daughters, April Vancor and husband Mike of Brandon, Amy McCool and husband Roger of Magee, Nikki Duette and husband Daren of Brandon and Christie Ivy of Chicago; son, Scott Runnels and wife Melissa of Madison; mother-in-law, Zella Ivy of Rockford Ill.; stepdaughter, Cathy Mobley of Chicago; stepson, Gary Ivy of Chicago; grandchildren, Kevin Hash, Justin, Molly, Wesley and Owen McCool, Chase, Luke and Ashley Runnels, Austin and Ava Vancor, and Ryan and Brooklin Duette; stepgrandchildren, Michelle Barnes and Brandon and Anthony Ivy; sisters, Dora Ainsworth of White Oak, Shirley Fisher of Florence and Ann Mills of Byram; and brother, Carroll Austin of Mize.
Pallbearers were James Austin, James Ainsworth, Steve Ainsworth, Bill Austin, Tony Austin, Kevin Austin, Michael Fisher and Jimmy Coleman.

Glenn Michael Johnson

Glenn Michael Johnson, 58, died Saturday, April 28, 2007, at home. Funeral services were May 2 at Dry Creek Baptist Church in Florence with burial in the Dry Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. BaIdwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl handled the arrangements.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lavaughn Sellers Johnson; son, David Johnson; and brother, Tommy Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Dianne Johnston Johnson of Brandon; sons, Timothy George and wife Renee of FIorence and Anthony George of Brandon; daughters, Amy Cook and husband Mark of Ft. Richardson, Alaska and Judy Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Funeral services were April 30 at Fannin First Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Ron Bird and the Rev. Steve Abercrombie officiated. Ott & Lee Funeral Home of Brandon handled the arrangements.
Emmett was born June 18, 1941 in Grenada. He retired 15 years ago and enjoyed living in the Fannin community with his wife, Mary Phillips McNulty of Morton.
He loved to help people and was a loyal member of Fannin First Baptist Church. His favorite things were social gatherings and riding his grandchildren around on his mower or 4-wheeler.
He often said, "Life is too short not to stop and smell the flowers."
He impacted the lives of many people who knew him as "Paw-paw Emmett." His faith in God was strong; as was his commitment to keep his family on their toes with his lectures.
He was a truly good man and a blessing to all who knew him. He would say, "Nothin's better than good food and good family."
He was preceded in death by his father, Emmett McNulty Sr.; mother, Hattie Rawlston McNulty; daughter, Jennifer McNulty; and one stepgrandchild.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Magdalene McNulty; son, Tommy McNulty; five stepchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were J.D. Williamson, John Allen Risher, Rick Potts, Don Beckham, Corbin Williamson, Les Shelby, Scott Hunt and Jerry Yates.
Honorary pallbearers were Tony Bales and James Gould.
