Charlie Mann

GUIN, Ala. - Charlie Mann, 71, of Guin, died Saturday, April 5, 2003, at his residence. He was the son of the late Larence and Bertha Pearce Mann. He had lived in the Pearidge community all of his life and retired from the 3M Company where he had worked 30 years.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel in Guin with Bro. Bryan Spiller and Bro. Eric McKinney officiating. Burial will be in the Center Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jones Mann of Guin, Ala.; two daughters, Janet Nelson and Cindy Murray, both of Guin; two sons, Ricky Mann of Muscle Shoals, Ala., and Randy man of Guin; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Lisa Mann; three brothers; and one sister.

Syblene Stegall

PONTOTOC - Syblene Stegall, 86, died Saturday, April 5, 2003, at her residence. She was a homemaker and a member of the Woodland Baptist Church.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at the Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with Bro. Fred Hartley officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include one daughter, Clara Nell Nix and her husband, Henry, of Pontotoc; one son, Lenard Stegall and his wife, Betty Jo, of Pontotoc; one sister, Verna Hamilton of Pontotoc; eight grandchildren, Pam Aston, Mike Bailey, David Stegall, John Stegall, Chris Bailey, Mitch Nix, Mark Bailey and Kim Chenault; 12 great-grandchildren, Kayla Aston, Tiffany Aston, James Aston, Zachary Stegall, Matt Bailey, Willie Bailey, Haley Chenault, Jessie Jaggers, Destiny Nix, Josh Graham, Jenna Bailey and Josh Bailey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "Tommy" Stegall; and a son, John Stegall.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Ola J. Holder

BOONEVILLE - Ola J. Holder. 94, died Sunday, April 6, 2003, at the Tishomingo County Hospital. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Salt Funeral Home.

Delores Webb

GATTMAN - Delores Webb, 59, died Saturday, April 5, 2003, at the Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Otts Funeral Home Chapel in Sulligent, Ala. Burial will be in the Shady Rest Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pearl Brady

RIPLEY - Florence Ola Pearl Brady, 91, died Sunday, April 6, 2003, at the Tippah County Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of the Chapman Church of Christ. She loved gardening and quilting and kept foster children in her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Daniel and Lillar Newby Stroupe; two daughters, Johnnie Pearl Hollingshead and Joyce Imogene Dains; two brothers; and two sisters.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Chapman Church of Christ with Minister Beale Coats, Minister J.A. Thornton and Minister Scott Brady officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. McMillan Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Jo Elsie and Orman Bridges of Jumpertown, Janie Sue and Lloyd Hensley of Edmonton, Ky., and Senita and George Coats of Blackland; one son, Dexter Brady and his wife, Mary, of Blue Mountain; one sister, Johnnie Mae Carpenter and her husband, Fagin, of Ripley; 21 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchldren; a host of nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday until 1 p.m., all at McBride Funeral Home.

The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services.

Ruby Horner

WEST POINT - Ruby Marianna Menees Horner, 91, died Saturday, April 5, 2003, at the Clay County Medical Center. She was born Jan. 3, 1912, in Clay County to the late Earlie Andrews and Printis Menees. She was a lifelong resident of Clay County and the former owner of Horner's Grocery Store. She was a graduate of Siloam Vocational High School. She was a charter member of the Prairie View Community Club and a member of the Prairie View Homemaker Club and Prairie View Quilters Club. She was the widow of Joseph "Joe" Woodson Horner, who preceded her in death Feb. 17, 1989.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Robinson Funeral Home Chapel in West Point with the Rev. Charles Dampeer officiating. Burial will be in the Green wood Cemetery.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Jo Ann Horner Crane and her husband, Bobby, of West Point, and Carol Fay Horner Bowlin and her husband, Barney, of Sicily Island, La.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren

Pallbearers will be James Calvin Bowlin, David Andrew Strobel, Jonathan Ryan Strobel, Travis Lynn Bowlin, Michael Lee Strobel and Christopher Dean Strobel.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 794, West Point, MS 39773.

Visitation will continue from 2 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Jean Taylor

STARKVILLE - Jean Blue Taylor, 61, died Sunday, April 6, 2003, at her home. She was a native of Quitman and had lived in Starkville for 32 years. She was a member of the Grace Presbyterian Church where she was the first church pianist, first choir director as well as being active in the Women in the Church. A graduate of Mississippi State University, she taught piano for many years. She was an officer in the Texas; five grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Grace Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 525 Academy Road, Starkville MS 39729.

Jimmie Smith

GLEN - Jimmie Lucille Smith, 69, died Saturday, April 5, 2003, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born Jan. 9, 1922, in Golden to the late Adolphus and Virginia Collier Wood. He was a mechanic-welder and a member of the Jones Chapel Baptist Church in Nettleton. He was a veteran of World War II.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Senter Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Payne and the Rev. Mike Tucker officiating. Burial will be in the Itawamba Memorial Garden Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Wood of Fulton; two daughters, Judy Payne and her husband, Bill, of Nettleton, and Rebecca Mondon and her husband, Tom, of Woodhaven, Mich.; two sons, Douglas Wood of Fulton and Edward Wood and his wife, Phyllis, of Franklin, Tenn.; two sisters, Mildred Kolp of Mississippi Medical Center. He was born Jan. 4, 1928, in Booneville to the late Odis and Bell Cleveland McCreary. He was a retired machinist and a member of the Tilden Church of Christ.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Senter Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Jerry Self and Minister David Paden officiating. Burial will be in the Tilden Community Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Hattie McCreary of Fulton; two daughters, Linda May and her husband, Chip, of Fulton, and Virginia Dill and her husband, Steve, of Mantachie; two sons, Kenneth McCreary and his wife, Sherry, of Fulton, and Jim McCreary and his wife, Brenda, of Amory; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Vera Mae Brazil and her husband, Eddie, of Red Bay, Ala., and Fay Redding of Sacramento, Mississippi Farm Bureau for 43 years and the first "Million Dollar Producer" of Mississippi Farm Bureau Roundtable. He qualified and earned many Roundtable, All Star and Sportsman's Holiday Trips. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He attended the University of Louisville on the Navy V-12 program. He loved his garden and his log cabin, "Candyman's Castle", where he entertained his family and friends. He was so very proud of his children and grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Harmony Baptist Church in Walnut with the Rev. Bryan Tatum and the Rev. Lyndel Davis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Magnolia Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Patty Jackson of Walnut; two sons, Dr. Bill Jackson and his wife, Linda, of Corinth, and Dr. Jim Jackson of Kossuth; three sisters, Agnes Siemens of Plano, Parker and Dewayne Bullard.

Honorary pallbearers will include Dr. Ben Kitchens, Tommy Dean and Walter Wynn.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home in Iuka.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 7320 Green ville Avenue, Dallas, OH, www.diabetes.org.

Brett Bousquet

CANTON, Ga. - Brett Alan Bousquet, 27, died Saturday, April 5, 2003, at his residence. He was an officer with the Fulton County Police Department.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Atlanta with Monseigneur Dillon officiating. Huey Funeral Home of Canton is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Melissa Elaine Bousquet of Canton; his mother, Judy Bousquet of the Macedonia community and Gainesville, Fla.; his father, Harry Bousquet of Daytona, Fla.; one brother, Jeff Bousquet of Gainesville, Fla.; his grandmother, Ruth Hovland of Gainesville, Fla.
