Leander Bullock

Funeral services for Leander “Wren” Bullock, 95, of McComb, were July 3, 2004, at Pink Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Jewel Ginn officiating.
He died June 28, 2004, at Southwest Regional Medical Center.
Bullock was a member of Pink Hill Missionary Baptist Church. He served as chairman of the deacon board, Sunday School teacher, secretary of the Pearl River Men’s Assn. for more than 60 years and secretary of the Bala Chitto Baptist Sunday School Convention.
He was born Oct. 9, 1908, in McComb, son of the late Ander and Lula McEwen Bullock. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Bullock; a son, Luther Bullock; and eight brothers.
Survivors include a daughter, Helen Stewart of San Jose, Washington Funeral Home in charge.
Ronald J. Hirdes Sr.

Funeral services for Ronald John Hirdes Sr., 65, were July 8, 2004, at St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Victor Seidel officiating.
He died July 5, 2004, at Walthall General Hospital.
Hirdes was born Sept. 14, 1938, in New Orleans, son of the late John Godfried Hirdes and Velma Arnould Hirdes.
He was a horse trainer.
Survivors include his wife, Leta Cothern Hirdes of Tylertown; three sons, Ronald John Hirdes Jr. of Detroit, John G. Hirdes III of Folsom, La., and Henry Hirdes of Tylertown; one daughter, Melissa Salisbury of Metairie, La.; one stepdaughter, Mary VanDyke of Virginia Beach, Va.; one brother, William Plant Jr. of Denver; and six grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family may be made to Leta Cothern Hirdes, 673 Highway 98 West, Tylertown, MS 39667.
Burial was in Enon Cemetery with Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home in charge.
Hubert Magee

Funeral services for Hubert Magee, 47, of Tylertown, were July 10, 2004, at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Bickham officiating.
He died July 4, 2004, at his residence.
Magee was a construction worker and a member of Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
He was born Sept. 2, 1956, in Tylertown to Willie Jewel Fortenberry Magee and the late Hilbert Magee. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Cornelieus and Lavernice Magee; grandparents, John and Freddie Magee and Therman and Mary Fortenberry; and his godmother, Earnestine Dillon.
Survivors include his mother, Willie Jewel F. Magee of Tylertown; stepfather, Warren Magee of Tylertown; a sister, Jacqueline Bickham of Tylertown; four brothers, Terry and Alfrazie Magee, both of New Orleans, and Gary and Ronta Magee, both of Tylertown; a godsister, Jerlean Dillon of Slidell, La.;10 aunts, one uncle and a host of relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Jerry, Darris and Bryan Magee, Aaron Thompson, Elmer R. Simmons and Sylvestus Newell.
Honorary pallbearers were Jeremy and Leroyous Bickham, Alfrazie Magee, Terry, Gary and Ronta Magee.
Burial was in Mount Moriah Cemetery with Texas, Betty Bodin and Sue Smith, both of Lafayette, La., and Lena Jannise of Opelousas, La.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were David McDaniel, Dewayne McDaniel, Chuck Ray, Keith Thompson, Stacey Thomas and Gerald McDaniel.
Burial was in Tylertown Cemetery II with Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home in charge.
Andrew A. Yoder Jr.

Funeral services for Andrew A. Yoder Jr., 72, of Kokomo, were July 13, 2004, at Capps Funeral Home Chapel with Eli Yoder, Daniel Nisly and John Mast officiating.
He died July 9, 2004, at Marion County General Hospital in Columbia.
Yoder was born Aug. 26, 1931, in Mount Eaton, Ohio; five sons, James Yoder of Kokomo, Philip Yoder of Big Sandy, Tex., Timothy Yoder of Columbia, David Yoder of Siguatepeque, Honduras, and Mark Yoder of Kokomo; 23 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dan Yoder of Marquette, Mich., and Eli Yoder of Stuarts Draft, Va.; a sister, Ada Miller of Danville, Washington Parish, La., daughter of the late Christopher Columbus Rawls and Mary Breland Rawls. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilber Sorrell.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Everett Jones of Sandy Hook; two sisters and their husbands, Elsie and Paul VanAtta and Dorothy and Dan Milton, both of Bogalusa, La.; two grandchildren and their spouses, Steve and Lisa Jones and Cynthia and Kevin McCall; and two great grandchildren, Morgan and Macey Jones.
Pallbearers were Steve Jones, Kevin McCall, Wayne Sorrell, Tommy Sorrell, Charles Rimes and Chris Lloyd.
Burial was in Carson Springs Cemetery with Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home in charge.
John W. Lawrence

He died July 22, 2004, at Southwest Regional Medical Center, McComb.
Lawrence was retired from Fernwood Industries and the Price dale; two sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Karen Lawrence of Magnolia and David and Lynn Lawrence of Natchez; one brother, Jerry Torn Lawrence of Baton Rouge; a sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and John Paul Westbrook of Baton Rouge; his mother-in-law, Lorena Baldwin of Price dale.
Pallbearers were James Rushing, Eddie Lawrence, James Lawrence, Clyde Coker, Wendell Alexander and John Paul Westbrook.
Honorary pallbearers were deacons of Calvary Baptist Church.
Burial was in the church cemetery with Catchings Funeral Home in charge.
