Cordelia Martin
Cordelia Martin, 95 years, a homemaker, passed away Tuesday, December 7, at a Glasgow hospital of natural causes.
Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 11, at the Saco Lutheran Church in Saco. Interment of her cremated remains will be at a later date. Adams Funeral Home and Crematory are in charge of arrangements.
Our loving mother and grandmother passed away peacefully with her family by her side. She was a lady of profound strength and a steadfast partner to our father. Cordelia was born in Davie County, North Carolina in 1909. She moved, with her family, to the Greve community in North Phillips County in 1915. The family moved to the Saco area in 1921. Here she met the love of her life, Hans Martin and married in 1933. Together, with perseverance and hard work, they established a productive and tranquil ranch.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Jean (Gil) Bullock or Wenatchee, Wash., Loretta (Darrell) Menge of Saco; grandchildren and their spouses, Mark (Debra) Bullock of Spokane, Mary Jo (Bruce) Bendickson of Wenatchee, Kevin (Susan) Bullock of Three Forks, Scott (Dianne) Bullock of Wenatchee, Russell (Bobbi) Menge of Saco, Jody (Mark Zudima) Menge of Hilger, Robyn (Scott) Cassel of Saco, Crystal (Charles) Mears of Malta, seventeen great-grandchildren; sister, Emma Erickson of Saco, brother-in-law Chris Martin of Cutbank, sisters-in-law, Ann McClintick of Walla Walla, Wash., Olga Bliven of Ft. Benton; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Hans on Feb. 9, 2001 and her brother Jim Dyson on Aug. 1, 2001.
John Paul Tourtlotte
John Paul Tourtlotte, 51, went to be with his Lord Tuesday, December 7, 2004. Complications of pneumonia claimed his life at Big Sandy Medical Center, Big Sandy, Montana. Services will be held on Thursday, December 9, at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Glasgow with Reverend Martin Mock officiating, with burial in Highland Cemetery. Bell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
John was born February 1, 1953. He was a life-long Montana resident. He lived his early years in Glasgow, during which Time he attended a special needs preschool at First Lutheran Church. The ensuing years were spent in Boulder, Montana, where he attended school and learned sign language. Later, he moved to Havre, Montana where he lived for nearly thirty years, until failing Health took him to the Big Sandy Medical Center, where he has resided for the past two years.
Through the Havre Day Activity Center John became fondly known by the local merchants and he participated in many group activities.
John had many friends and will long be remembered for his fun-loving sense of humor And his affectionate personality.
He loved life, especially the out-of-doors-the mountains, trees, water, and animals. Western hats and boots were among his favorite things. John enjoyed music, especially playing his harmonica and his guitar.
He was fond of car rides and loved going home for visits with his family.
Johnny will be fondly remembered by his many friends at Havre Day Activity Center and at Big Sandy Medical Center.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Helen Tourtlotte, and his brother James.
Survivors include his sisters, Dr. Julie Brous of Big Fork, Montana, and Jane Borsvold of Phoenix, Arizona
A memorial service will also be held Saturday, December 11, at 2:00 PM at First Lutheran Church in Havre.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to Havre Day Activity Center, Havre, Montana
Thelma Irene (Stearns) Bondy
Thelma Irene (Stearns) Bondy died of natural causes on Wednesday, December 8, at Valley View Nursing Home in Glasgow. She was 90. Services will be Saturday, December 11, at 11 a.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Nashua, with Interment in the Nashua Cemetery. Bell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
She was born on March 29, 1914 in Bismarck, North Dakota, to Archie Jerome Stearns and Alma Louise (Moen) Stearns.
She moved with her parents to a land grant in Canada on the Montana-Saskatchewan border. Her family later moved to Martinsville ( a shanty town near the Fort Peck Dam Project).
Thelma married Orville Kenneth Bondy in May of 1934 in Scobey, Montana. They moved into the town of Fort Peck in the late 1930's. She had maintained residence in Fort Peck until May of 2001 when she moved to the Valley View Nursing Home in Glasgow.
Thelma loved to garden (her specialty was growing hybrid tea roses), to feed and watch birds, and to cook and sew for others. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of Fort Peck, a Scout leader, and the Fort Peck Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death by her husband Orville Kenneth in November of 1977, daughters Frances Louise (Bondy) DuBeau and Elinor Irene (Bondy) Johnson, a sister Lorna Dahl, and brothers Gordon Stearns, Russell Stearns, and Clarence Stearns.

Darren Lee Hazelton
Darren Lee Hazelton died at his home in Glasgow on Thursday, December 2nd. He was 31. Services will be at Bell Chapel in Glasgow on Monday, December 6th at 10 a.m. with Reverend Jay Ashbaucher officiating. Interment will be in the Roundup Cemetery in Roundup, MT.
He was born on 4/10/73 to Vincent & Derinda Hazelton in Billings, Mt. He attended Roundup School System. Darren lived with his family until 1990. He then attended REM and lived in a group home. He then moved to Glasgow and attended MRI and lived in a group home. In 1998, he was able to move into his own apartment.
Darren had a great sense of humor and he loved to tease people, He enjoyed participating in Special Olympics, riding bike, playing video games, playing the computer and going to the movies with his friends. Darren was very proud of his independence and his accomplishments. Darren truly loved working with Roy Jimison with maintenance and cleaning carpets. He had stated that meeting Miss Rodeo was his biggest accomplishment.
Darren is survived by his parents: Vincent & Derinda Hazelton, Sisters: Jamie who resides in Billings and Lindsey who lives in Texas with her husband James, Grandparents are: Gaylord & Mary Upchurch and Gladys Hazelton.
Special People in his life were Roy Jimison, Doyle Euell, Lisa Watson, Paula Terry, The Orth family - Peggy Sain, and Walter Storkson.

Teddy was raised and attended school in Opheim, Montana. Teddy married Colleen Church on July 24, 1955 on the farm in Opheim, Montana. He farmed and operated the same farm his dad homesteaded in 1917. The threshing machine which was purchased in 1926 still stands on the Miller Farm. Ted used it in the summer of 1958.
He was a member of the Farmers Union Oil Company Board from 1948 to 1982. He was a Past Chairman and President of the Farmers Union local chapter. He collected and worked on old gas engines, and he loved to go to auctions. Ted enjoyed flying, hunting and fishing, tinkering, and was a good story teller. He served as an active member, deacon, priest, elder, and pastor of his church.

Bernadine R. (Brandt) Smith

MALTA-Bernadine R. (Brandt) Smith, 86 years, a retired Glasgow school teacher, died Friday, January 20, at the Hi-Line Retirement Center in Malta of natural causes.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, Jan. 24, at the Adams Memorial Chapel in Malta. Interment will be in the Malta Cemetery. Adams Funeral Home of Malta is in charge of arrangements,
Survivors include her son, Vincent Smith of Congress, AZ; his children, SPC. Cory Smith of Iraq, Amy Smith of Estivan, Sask.; daughter, Valerie (Cletus) Reiland, their children, Dustin, Bethany, great grandchildren, Misty & Isaiah all of Spokane, Curtis of Vancouver, WA; brother Bob (Evelyn) Brandt of Glasgow; nephews Jim Brandt of Glasgow, Jack Marshall of Big Sandy, Tom Marshall of Laramie, WY. She was preceded in death by her sister Kathryn Marshall, niece Karen Brandt.
Bernadine (whose nickname was Bunny), was born December 9, 1919 in Grand Forks, North Dakota the daughter of N.J. and Josephine (Goll) Brandt. The family moved to Whitewater as a young child where her parents had a store. Bunny was raised and educated in Whitewater and was a member of the Happy Six 4-H Club. She earned her teaching certificate and taught in Whitewater and Glasgow. She married Harold Smith in July of 1960, they were later divorced. Bunny taught Home Economies at the old Junior High, and then went to the Southside School where she taught fifth and sixth grades. She retired from the Glasgow School District in 1983 after 23 years. After her retirement, she moved to Malta where she kept her garden, sewed, went fishing, and enjoyed basketball games.

He was raised in Nashua, graduating from Nashua High School in 1943. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in August, 1943, seeing action in the Pacific during World War II.
Paul married Jean Woronoski on June 19, 1954 in Regina, Saskatchewan. He was a lifetime Glasgow businessman starting Econo Lumber in 1969. Paul was an avid card player, a huge New York Yankee fan, and a devout democrat. He was on the Democratic Central Committee for Valley County. Paul was appointed by the Governor to the Montana Fish and Game Commission and served from 1978 to 1983.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ed, John, and Jerry Tihista.
