Carole Heikens, was born in Glasgow on September 10, 1935. She lived on the family ranch until they moved to Nashua. She spent her summers on the family ranch. She graduated from Nashua High School in 1953. After High School she worked at the Clerk and Recorders Office until she married Al Heikens on October 6, 1956 in Nashua. She lived on the Heikens farm until she moved to Glasgow in 2001. Carole had a great love for all animals. She was very devoted to her dogs. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren as well as her classmates. She enjoyed going to Bible Study, Altar Society, talking on the phone, and going for rides. Carole was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Al in May 1994.

Lottie (Koike) Kotaki, 94, of Glasgow, died Friday, March 6, 2009. She was born on July 5, 1914, in Plentywood, Montana, to Harry and Tina Louise (Anderson) Koike. She graduated from Glasgow High School in 1932. Later that year she married Arthur A. Kotaki who, with his father, owned and operated the Johnnie Cafe in Glasgow. After Art's death in 1965, Lottie assumed management of their restaurant.
Through the years her lively spirit and enthusiasm for gardening, baking, playing her favorite Scott Joplin and Chopin on the piano, square dancing, fishing, bingo, or swimming with her aerobic swim class friends, made any time spent with her enjoyable because she was having so much fun. Her family and friends will miss that light.
Lottie was preceded in death by her sisters Avis Bagley and Mary Swank, and her brother Richard Koike. Survivors include her three children, Jack Kotaki and his wife Renee, of Boise, Idaho, Ruth Kotaki of Glasgow, and Kiyoe Mapps of Crawfordsville, Indiana; two grandchildren, Sarah Kotaki of St Paul, Minnesota, and Kelly Williams (Bryant) of Plainfield, Illinois; four great-grandchildren, Adelle, Bryonne, Ellis, and Ethan Williams; a nephew, Doug Reinertson (Liz); and two nieces, Lynn King (Bill) and Carol Eiswald (Jim).
A family service was held and Lottie was laid to rest in Glasgow's Highland Cemetery.

Wanda was raised and attended schools in north McCone County. On February 1, 1937 she married William “Bill” Whisennand in Glasgow, Montana. To get married she rode her horse from Rock Creek to the Missouri River, turned her horse loose to go home, and road with the mailman to Frazer and on to Glasgow for the wedding.
They lived in New Deal where Bill operated a pool hall and Wanda a restaurant during the Fort Peck Dam Construction. They moved to Fairfield, Montana where they operated a Gambles store for a while, then moved back to the Center Community north of Fort Peck. In 1942 they moved to their farm northwest of Fort Peck which they operated for 54 years before retiring in 1996 and moving into Glasgow.
Wanda was a 4-H Leader in the Galpin area and was very active in the 7th Day Adventist Church. A hard working active farm wife, she enjoyed gardening and music, especially singing and the guitar and piano which she played. She especially loved her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Whisennand in 2006 and two brothers, Lyle Nelson and Lowell Nelson.
Survivors include her sons Lyle Whisennand of Anacortes, Washington and Jerry Whisennand and his fiancé Paula of Gonzales, Louisiana, her daughter Lila Kulczyk and her husband Ron of Nashua, Montana, a sister Marlene Ferguson and her husband Robert of Wolf Point, Montana, 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild, 3 step great grandchildren, 1 step great great grandchild.

Delmar Victor Lind, 88, of Glasgow, a World War II and Korean War veteran, died while recovering from surgery Saturday at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Billings. Rosary will be 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 3 at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church with a memorial service and mass on Wednesday, March 4 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Glasgow.
Del was born to Axel Victor Lind and Helga (Pedersen) on November 27, 1920 at Francis Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow. He attended elementary and high school in Glasgow and graduated in 1938. Del started working for the Montana Power Company in January, 1939 working construction out of Great Falls. In December, 1942 he joined the United States Army and went to electrical school for radio repair. He went to Philadelphia in July, 1943 to the Plant Engineering Agency where he met Pat, his future wife, at the USO dance. They corresponded all through the war and were married February 9, 1946. During the war Del worked in army base communications with radio transmitters and receivers in Reykjavik, Iceland and Europe (Ireland, England, and France).
After World War II Del and Pat returned to Glasgow and Del resumed his career with the Montana Power Company until the Army called him to serve in the Korean War in 1950. In September 1951 they returned from the West Coast to Glasgow where Del once again worked for Montana Power in Havre, transferring to Chinook in 1957 and Glasgow in 1970 to become the town manager where he retired from Montana Power after 47 years in 1984.
Del enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, golf and coffee with his friends. He was a previous board member of Glasgow High School Educational Trust Fund, member of Kiwanis, IBEW, Toastmasters (Chinook), and Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years Patricia (Glemser) of Glasgow; sons Jack (Penny) Lind of Malta, and Jim (Melodie) Lind of Fairfield; daughters Patricia (Ray) Alford of Australia, and Susan (Larry) Aune of Philadelphia, Penn; nine grandchildren including Michelle and Lena Alford; Jacque (Damien) Wandler; Rebecca (Luke) Spencer; Erin, Scott and Kyle (Candace) Lind and son Noah; Jordan, Lindsey and Tyler (Aston) Aune.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Don, Howard, and Edward Lind. Memorials may be given to the Glasgow High School Educational Trust Fund.
Hazel Lorreane Simpson Woodall

SACO-Hazel Lorreane Simpson Woodall, 75, passed away of natural causes, Sunday February 22, 2009. She was surrounded by loving family.
Funeral services for Hazel are set for 2p.m. Thursday, February 26, 2009 at the Saco Methodist Church. Burial will be at the Grandview Cemetery in Saco, with reception to follow at the I.O.O.F. Hall in Saco. Memorial maybe made to the McLaughlin Research Institute, 1520 23rd St. So., Great Falls, MT 59405. Condolences maybe left at www.kirkwoodfuneralhome.com. Adams Kirkwood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by children: Bonnie (Mike) Bunk of Baker, MT, Betty (Robert) Plouffe of Saco, Wayne "Woody" Woodall of Saco, Kathy Woodall of Saco and Joyce (Ross) Simser of Malta, brothers Larry (Phyllis) Simpson of Saco and Irvin Simpson of Malta. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and longtime special friend Harold "H.D." Hendrickson and numerous relatives she liked to keep in touch with. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Grace Simpson, brothers, Clarence Simpson and Elwood Simpson and sister, Myrna Erickson.
Hazel was born September 28, 1933, north of Hinsdale, MT to Walter and Grace (Zieger) Simpson. She was raised east of Bowdoin and attended 12 years of school in Saco, Montana. In the fall of 1952 she moved to Great Falls, MT and worked for Blue Cross Insurance until 1955. She married Earl Woodall (they later divorced) in Vernon, TX. They returned to Glasgow, MT where she worked for Glasgow Bakery and Avco at the Air Base. In 1972 they moved to Saco. While in Saco she worked at the Sleeping Buffalo, O’Brien’s Café, Jake’s Bar, and Pay-n-Save Grocery Store. During all of this, she raised five wonderful children.
Hazel enjoyed playing softball, golfing, square dancing, quilting, sewing, playing cards, and crocheting. She loved watching her children and grandchildren participate in sports and extra curricular activities. Throughout her life she made many lifelong friends. She loved being a member of the Saco Rebekah’s. She could always be counted on to lend a hand when needed.
