Ramona Michelle Stenswick, 60, of Glasgow, died of cancer Thursday, November 22, 2007 at the Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow. A vigil service will be 7 p.m. Sunday and the Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday, both at the Malta Cemetery in Malta at 3 p.m. Adams Funeral Home of Malta is in charge of arrangements.
Mona is survived by two sisters, Debra Young and husband Terry; Mary Hughes and Husband Mitch, all from Glasgow and brother Jack Stenswick of Malta. She is also survived by nephews Travis, Trent, Tim and Todd Young; Dylan Hughes; niece Karissa Hughes; aunt Sue Berg (Howard) of Malta, Uncle Aden (Ann) Hoagland of Somers, Montana; numerous cousins and her many friends at the Malta Opportunities and Milk River Activity Center.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents; brother Robert in Oct. 10, 1996; Terri Anne Young; and many aunts and uncles.
She was born in Kalispell on May 27, 1947 to Robert and Anna Jane Stenswick. Ramona grew up at the Legion Hot Plunge west of Saco. She then moved to Malta where she worked at the Malta Opportunities, Inc. for several hears. In 1998, she moved to her own apartment at the Transitional Living Complex in Glasgow and worked at the Milk River Activity Center, Inc.
Mona enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was vbery active in Special Olympics and loved attending social events in the community and at church. The love of her life was her doll Nancy, her constant companion since she was eight years old.

John M. Hoyt of Glasgow passed away November 16 of pneumonia at the Billings Clinic. Services will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at the First Lutheran Church at 2 P.M.
John was born in Littleton, Maine on August 31, 1924 the son of George A. Hoyt and Dorothy F. (Shean) Hoyt.
John joined the U.S. Navy on his 17th birthday where he served for 4 years. He took his training in Newport, Rhode Island. After the Pearl Harbor attack he was transferred to Norfolk, Virginia and served on the USS Nitro, an ammunition carrier, until the winter of 1942, when he was sent to Staten Island, New York, to christen the destroyer USS Isherwood DD520. 2100 ton Fletcher Class Destroyer. While there Mr. Hoyt went to radio and radar school in Brooklyn where he came out as a radioman. They went on shakedown cruises in the Caribbean and then back to Norfolk, then a homeport of Boston, and from Boston to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. Mr. Hoyt departed from there to the Orkney and Shetland Islands off the coast of Scotland to seek out the German battleship Von Tirpitz. While still in the European war, the Isherwood escorted the Queen Mary carrying Winston Churchill from England to a 1943 meeting in Canada with President Franklin Roosevelt. In October 1943 the Isherwood was assigned to “7 Fleet” to support General MacArthur’s forces. The next assignment was to Alaska, then the Kurile lslands, then to Kurabu-Zaki, Paramashuri, where they destroyed 2 hangers, 8 planes and 2 patrol crafts. This was the first American ship to enter the sea of Okhotsk, the northern most sea of Japan. The Isherwood then went back to the South Pacific and island hopped destroying targets. They worked out of Hollandia, New Guinea and in October 1944 they had the Battle of Samar, which ended the occupation of Japan on the islands of Leyte and Subic Bay. On April 1, 1945, a kamikaze pilot hit the Isherwood with many dead or wounded. After the attack the destroyer was repaired in Honolulu, then to Mare Island Shipyard in California for a complete rebuild. After the war, Mr. Hoyt went to Virginia and was in the Naval Reserves and on January 12, 1948, he joined the Air Force. He went to Germany where he participated in the Berlin airlift, transferred to England where he spent 3 years, then back to the States for a year at a base in Florida. His next assignments were Korea, Dow Air Force Base, Maine, Lajes Field, Azore Islands, Portugal, Glasgow Air Force Base, Montana, and Ramey Air Force Base, Puerto Rico, returning to Glasgow and retiring September 1, 1972. He fulfilled 26 years in the Air Force making a total of 30 years in the service. John was awarded many ribbons, certificates and citations over the years.
After retirement John worked at the former base for Tumpane, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, YACC camp; then civil service at Fort Peck. He worked for Bell Helicopter in Iran from 1974 to 1976. John served on the Nemont Manor Board of Directors for 20 plus years, was a life member of the following: Abou Saad Shriners, A.A.ON.M.S of Panama; North Star Lodge No. 46, AF & AM, where he was a Past Master and has been Secretary for many years; Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, SJ. in the Valley of Billings, Montana; European Shrine Club and also an Ambassador for the same; VFW Post No. 3107, Glasgow, serving as Commander and Quartermaster for a number of years and awarded many plaques and awards. He was also a Past District Commander of the VFW. He was a Charter Life Member of Bannack Historic Lodge No.3-7-77, Bannack, Montana; Past Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star; Advisory Board, Order of the Rainbow for Girls and holder of the Grand Cross of Colors. He had membership in the Air Force Sergeants Association; NRA and NRA Institute for Legislative Action; USS Isherwood Association; and was a Charter member of the Statue of Liberty Ellis Island Foundation. Inc.
John married Alice (Alicia) Albright Corbett on December 27, 1958 and to this union was born 2 children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Emma (Stroud) Hoyt and 2 sisters, Georgia Hoyt and Marietta Albright; 2 brothers, Frank and Ray Hoyt; and 2 grandsons.
Survivors are his wife Alicia, sons Guy Hoyt (Linda) of Tucson, AZ.; John Hoyt of Bristol, Connecticut, George Hoyt of Bemidji, MN.; David Hoyt of Brighton, Co.; Randall Corbett of Nashua, MT.; daughters, Laurie Doke (Shorty) of Glasgow, Mt.; Karen Corbett of Longview, WA.; Patricia Johnson (Karl) North of Nashua; Linda Milloy of Lawton, OK.; a sister Eloise Hoyt of Friendsville, TN. and a brother Carl Hoyt (Rose), Hillsboro, Oregon.

Frank was raised on the family ranch and attended the Jones School northwest of Hinsdale, MT.
Frank married Alice “Darlene” Nelson on June 1, 1949 in Glasgow. After they were married they lived on the ranch and then lived in Colorado for one year. They purchased Abdul Allie’s ranch near Thoeny where they lived for 6 years. They moved back into Hinsdale in 1956, and then to their ranch near Hinsdale in 1960 where they have since resided with the exception of 3 years on the ranch at Bowdoin, MT.
Frank farmed and ranched and worked as a land improvement contractor and trapper. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, woodworking, gardening, bird watching, reading, and working on his yard. He was a member of the Hinsdale Lutheran Church, Montana Land Improvement Contractors of America and served two terms as president, was a Past Master of Kyle Lodge #96, Knights Templar, Algeria Shrine, and National Rifleman’s Association.

Bill was raised in Glasgow, Montana and graduated from Glasgow High School. He served some time in the US Navy and then worked as a carpenter until becoming disabled. He took care of his aging parents.
He liked to play cards and enjoyed going for walks. He loved his family very much, and enjoyed having dinner with his family when they came to visit. He always sent letters and cards and some with surprises.
