Mary Margarette Wagner Hanson

Mary Margarette was born to Thomas and Margarette (Jackson) Wagner in March 29th, 1925 in Wolf Point, Montana, and grew up on the family farm North of Nashua. She graduated form the College of Saint Benedict, Saint Joseph, MN, in 1946 and received her Master’s degree in Medical Social Work from the University of St. Louis in 1948. After working as a social worker in St. Louis for a year, Mary Margarette returned to Valley County to teach at the Grain School and to serve as a social worker for many years, later becoming head of child welfare and social services of Northeast Montana. She married Les Hanson of Glasgow in October, 1971.
Mary Margarette will be well-remembered for her many years of service to the community and the church. Mary Margarette became an Oblate of Saint Benedict in 1956, a role which she fulfilled until her death. She continued her training in liturgy and homiletics through the Diocese of Great Falls. Mary Margarette was a long-time organist at Queen of Angels and Saint Raphael’s Churches. She also served on various community boards in the Glasgow area.
Mary Margarette is survived by: step-children David Hanson, Ann Hanson, and Gretchen Vincent and their children; sisters LeMay Bechtold (St. Cloud, MN), Damaris Boerschinger (Billings); brothers J.F. Wagner (Billings), Roger (Nashua), David (Towner, ND); and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Les Hanson, in June 1994, her sister Therese Ann Wagner, and brothers, Hugh, Phillip, and Richard.
The vigil services will be at 7:00 pm at St. Raphael’s Church on Thursday, August 9. The funeral mass is at 10:00 am at St. Raphael’s Church on Friday, August 10. Arrangements are made by Bell Mortuary. Memorials should be designated for the College of Saint Benedict, St. Joseph, MN.

Born in Spokane, Susan attended schools in Seattle, Tacoma, Kent, and Maple Valley, Washington.
In 1996 she moved to Glasgow to be closer to her mother. She moved back to Seattle in 1998 and has resided in Glasgow since 2005.
Susan loved to dance, sing, her children, and horseback riding. An immaculate mother, her family came first. She had a deep love for music and especially and especially enjoyed her dog Turner.

Francis was raised and attended schools in Glasgow, graduating from Glasgow High School in 1947. His parents owned the City Market where he worked after school and during the summers. He then graduated from the University of Montana in Missoula in 1952 with a Juris Doctorate and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant of the USAF where he served for two years. In 1959 he resigned from the Reserves as a Captain.
Francis began his practice of law in 1954 and was a partner of the late Judge Thomas Dignan until 1961 when Dignan became District Judge. He was a partner with Matthew Knierim and Gerald Archambeault. His professional organizations included the American Bar Association, American Judicative Society, Montana Trial Lawyers Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
In 1957 Francis married Bernadine Donahue of Flaxton, North Dakota. They have three children, Gerianne, Barbara, and John. A lifelong member of St. Raphael’s Church, he has been a religious education teacher, Knights of Columbus, Parish Council President, a member of the Diocesan Parish Council and Conciliation Panel, and Eucharistic Minister.
Francis served as past Director and Vice President of the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, Sunnyside Golf and Country Club Director, Director of First Security Bank and the Bancorporation of Montana and Trust Corporation of Montana. In 1999 he retired as a Director of the Great Falls Davidson Trust Company. In 1978 Francis was presented the President’s Award of the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce for devoted service to his community.
Francis was very active in the Republican Party on the precinct level and the County and State organizations. He was a member of Luke’ 100. Francis retired from the firm of Gallagher and Archambeault in January of 2000.

Leslie C. Guderjahn, age 80, of Great Falls passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2007 at the Peace Hospice Center in Great Falls, Montana.
Leslie was born on December 25, 1926 in Rolla, North Dakota, the son of Bill and Elsie Guderjahn. Raised on a farm outside of Rolla, he served in the US Army in World War II as an auto mechanic. He received a World War II Victory Medal and an Army Occupation Ribbon.
After an honorable discharge he returned home to help his father with farming. On April 11, 1951 Leslie married his best friend Helen Rita Boppre. He tells the story of falling in love with the girl that had dirt on her nose.
They lived in North Dakota until 1952 and then moved to Hinsdale, Montana, living there for 52 years and raising three sons and two daughters.
He was a 34 year Legion member, retired cowboy and ranch hand. He loved being a cowboy and riding on his horse “Big Red”. He also cherished the time he spent hunting with his boys. Leslie and Helen loved a big garden to feed the family and friends.

Edith lived on the family farm south of Glentana until moving into Nemont Manor in 1995. While residing there she enjoyed the company of many friends, new and old. She participated in the many activities offered by the manor. The staff at Nemont Manor became Edith’s extended family. In recent years Edith and her sister Edna Stannebein could be seen at various locations playing cards. In May, 2007, Edith moved to Prairie Ridge in Glasgow where she resided at the time or her passing.
Edith married George Greenwood on June 1, 1938 in Glasgow. Their farm was just 2 miles from her parent’s farm where they resided until 1995 when she moved into Glasgow. She enjoyed gardening and baking. She had a love of her family and her farm animals. Her legacy was her afghans.
