Orma Louise Enger Bruce

A service of Remembrance will be held for Fred and Orma Bruce on Thursday, May 30, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Congregational Church in Glasgow, Montana.
Orma Louise Enger Bruce, age 83, of Glasgow died on May 3, 2007 at Valley View Home in Glasgow, Montana. Orma was born in Glasgow on January 10, 1923, the oldest of two sisters born to Olaf Enger and Grace Lightner Enger.
Orma graduated from Glasgow High School in 1941 as class Valedictorian. She subsequently worked as an administrative assistant with the Federal Land Bank, the Veteran’s Welfare Commission, attorney Thomas Dignan, and the Valley County Superintendent of Schools, Ruth Putz. Orma married Fred Bruce on June 14, 1950, and for more than 40 years, they lived on and farmed the Bruce family land on the north bench, four miles northeast of Glasgow. Orma and Fred subsequently moved to Nemont Manor and then, in 2004, Orma moved to Valley View Home in Glasgow.
Orma was actively involved in the First Congregational Church/United Church of Christ. She sang alto in the Church Choir, and was actively involved in the Women’s Christian Fellowship and assisted with many church and community events. Orma was artistic, and enjoyed producing arts and crafts.
Orma also enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles daily. She loved living on the farm, watching the wild animals in the area, and playing with the dogs and cats who were her pets.
Survivors include her husband, Fred G. Bruce of Valley View Home in Glasgow; sister, Roselle E. Walter of Chula Vista, CA.; and sister- and brother-in-law, Mae Bruce Irle and Francis Irle of Glasgow. Four nieces and their spouses include Nancy Irle Mathews and F. Neil Mathews of Baton Rouge, LA.; Judy Irle Kern of Anchorage, AK.; Susan Walter and Stephen Van Wormer of Chula Vista, CA.; and Paula Walter and Larry Hall of Mexico. Seven grandnieces/nephews include: Melissa, Nathan, and Heather Mathews; Lisa Kern and Erica Kern Wood; and Rachael and Aaron Van Wormer.
Orma was preceded in death by her parents, Olaf and Grace Lightner Enger, and her aunt Jessie Lightner Guffey. Following her wishes, a private interment will be at the family plot at Highland Cemetery in Glasgow.

Sharon was raised in Glasgow and then lived several years in Ronan, and has lived in Glasgow the last three years.
She enjoyed music and being around people, knitting and braiding rugs.
Sharon liked being around children and teasing people. She loved working at numerous jobs, and she especially loved participating in the Special Olympics. Sharon was fluent in sign language.

Gisley, 84, a native of Montana, was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ole Gisley and a brother of the late Evelyn Koski of Hinsdale and the late Lucille Petro of Crawfordville, Ind. He is survived by 5 nieces and nephews, Jim Koski of Lake Elsinore, CA., Jerry Koski of Glasgow, JuDee Blockhus of Hinsdale, Janice McInerney of Helena, and Marlene Petro of Wayland, MA., and longtime friend Mary Bowen. He is also survived by a cousin Helen Peterson and Lillian Gregoryk and former wife Barbara of Washington, and many relatives in Norway.
He was preceded in death by a brothers James and Jim Gisley.
He was a graduate of Montana State University at Missoula and attended the University of Washington graduate school. He joined the John P. Scripps Newspapers as a general assignment reporter on the Bremerton (Washington) Sun in 1969, a position from which he retired some 20 years later.
Gisley got his first start in journalism as a junior and senior in Hinsdale High School in the late 40’s, when he worked as a type-setter on the mechanical part of the Hinsdale Tribune. After high school he farmed with his father briefly, attended a linotype school in North Dakota, returned to the Hinsdale Tribune as a linotype operator and then enrolled in Montana State University and its journalism school.
In his retirement, Gisley traveled the country in an RV, spending winters in Tucson, AZ., and summers in Montana. He was an avid golfer and reader with indefatigable curiosity and inquisitiveness until his death.
Dean Edward Seiler

Dean Edward Seiler beloved husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, died Thursday morning, the 10th of May 2007, in the Havre Montana Hospital, following a short illness.
His funeral will be Monday, May 14, 11:00 am, at the Methodist Church in Glasgow Montana, with the burial at the Glasgow Cemetery.
Dean was born April 20, 1927 in Flaxville Montana, where he attended grade school. Dean started high school in Washington DC, where he, his father, and his brother Harold worked construction, building the Pentagon. They later relocated to Fort Peck, Montana, where Dean attended and graduated for Nashua High School in 1945. While in High School, Dean participated in the school football and basketball programs.
Dean joined the US Navy in 1945, the spring of his senior year in High School. Dean served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga, as a Seaman 1st Class, and was honorably discharged in 1947.
After his discharge from the US Navy, Dean began his 32 year career with the Montana Highway Department, in Glasgow Montana, where he first met his wife, Yukona E. Duncan, from Hinsdale Montana.
Dean and Connie were married January 31, 1948, at the Little White Church in Malta, Montana, and resided in numerous North Eastern Montana communities. Later they relocated to Nashua Montana, where Dean continued working for the Montana Highway Department, at the Wolf Point Division.
In 1968, Dean transferred to the Miles City Division of the Montana Highway Department, to become the Division Engineer. Dean finished out his Highway Department career in Miles City, retiring in 1978.
Later that year Dean accepted employment with the Witco Chemical Company, as a Regional Engineer, residing in Boise Idaho. Dean’s territory included Idaho, Oregon, Nevada, California, and Washington.
Dean fully retired in 1991, when he and Yukona moved back to Montana, residing in Billings. It was during this time that Dean and Yukona spent their winters at the Mesa Regal, in Mesa Arizona. In 2005, they moved to Havre Montana.
Dean Edwards Seiler was preceded in death by his son Rodney in 1956, and his unnamed daughter in 1957, his father Harold Milton Seiler in 1987, his sister Audrey Seiler Webber in 1990, his mother Mildred (Baker) Seiler in 1991.
Dean Edward Seiler is survived by his wife of 59 years, Yukona Duncan Seiler, his son’s Richard (Debbie) Seiler of Glasgow Montana, and David Seiler of Boise Idaho, his daughter’s Vicki (Doug) Bishop of Silverdale Washington, Janis (Frank) Hartman of Miles City Montana, Sheila (Tim) Miller of Havre Montana, Marsha (Lyle) Posey of Albuquerque New Mexico, 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and his brother Harold Seiler, of Mesa Arizona.
Dean was loved and admired by all, and his death leaves a huge void. May we fill this void with wonderful memories of his life, of his incredible generosity, of his kindness, and of his strength. His wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will forever remember his love for them, and his wonderfully entertaining stories.

She resided on the ranch south of Saco her entire life. She attended school at the Abel School south of Saco and graduated from Saco High School in 1926.
Florence married Lawrence Taylor on May 25, 1934 in Malta, Montana. She worked side by side with Lawrence ranching and raising cattle. She loved animals, had cats and dogs, and enjoyed gardening. She and Lawrence loved to dance. They rode horseback to Hinsdale for the dances, then rode home, milked cows, and went to work. She also enjoyed playing the piano and signing. Lawrence passed away in 1985.
Florence was a member of the Saco Lutheran Church (its oldest member) and the Lutheran Ladies Circle. She also taught Sunday School.
