Robert graduated from Minot High School in Minot, North Dakota. He served in the US Army in World War II. Bob married Mildred (Pinkie) Olson on February 27, 1943.
Later they returned to Glasgow where he worked as a watch repairman at Bowles Jewelry. They moved to Washington about 1949, later returning to Montana. They lived in Kalispell for a time and eventually moved to Helena, where they lived until moving back to Glasgow in 1993, where he resided until his death.
Bob worked in the jewelry business during these years, eventually going to a school to be a gemologist. He enjoyed learning about the precious stones of the earth and then being able to work in the gem business.
On of the most important events in his life began in 1947. At that time he and Pinky began to study the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses, and they were both baptized May 30, 1948. For the last 57 years he shared in the Bible education work of Jehovah'Ss Witnesses in several places in both Washington and Montana.
Bob was an avid student of the Bible. Additionally, he was a good teacher. As a result he had the privilege of having many opportunities over the years where he could help teach others from the Bible. These occasions included talking to large audiences during conventions of Jehovah's Witnesses in both Washington and Montana.
Bob also enjoyed photography, reading, and automobiles. Until the last few years, he could tell you all about every new car that came out. He also enjoyed travel, especially their trips to Hawaii and North Dakota.
Many years have gone by, and as Bob's health failed, he looked ahead to the hope the Bible gives for the future.
