When I was 19 and he was 26 I met my best friend on Chrtstmas Eve of 1949.
I know I will miss him terribly but he's gone to a better place.
Jack C. Kochendorfer passed away April 30, 2005 of liver cancer.
He was born February 27, 1923 in Menominee, Wisconsin to Henry and Hazel (Jager) Kochendorfer.
Jack worked for the Oil Wells and Cummings Plumbing in Glendive, Montana. He attended Office Repair School in Havre, Montana. In 1956 he moved to Glasgow where he worked for Leo Breskie Sanitation Department, Johnson Plumbing, and Tommy Rodgers.
His greatest joy was watching his great grandchildren, spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing, listening to his books on tape and playing bingo. He was a huge Greenbay Packer and Chicago Cubs fan.
Survivors include is wife of 55 years, Lou Kochendorfer, their children: Georgia Bledsoe and her husband Steve of Glasgow, Jack Kochendorfer of San Diego, California, Rocky Kochendorfer and William Kochendorfer of Glasgow, 11 grandchildren including Ronald and Sheri Jenkins of Kalispell, Montana, Robert Jenkins of Missoula, Montana, Stacie and Shane Rhoads of Glasgow, Christina Peterson and Matt Eliason of Glasgow, Montana, and Shane and Jaycee Stolem of Malta. He was honored to have 16 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son Jay Edward Kochendorfer, a grandson Rocky Jo Jenkins, nephews Eugene Crawford Sr. and Broadrick Crawford, a grand niece Cheyanne Crawford, his parents Hazel and Henry Kochendorfer, his brother Marcie Kochendorfer, and his step-father Debus Pattison.

Allan moved with his family from North Dakota in the spring of 1928 to a farm south of Glentana. He attended the Quast School through grade school and then Peerless High School, graduating in 1937. His family moved into Glasgow in 1937. Allan had worked on the construction of the Fort Peck Dam and was in the CCC stationed in western Montana. Allan then went to work for the Great Northern Railway. He enlisted in the Air Force in January of 1942. Allan served his years in the service in Australia flying in the Pacific as an Aerial Mechanic. He returned to Glasgow after World War II in October of 1945.
Allan met the love of his life Margaret Hopstad New and they were married in July of 1948 in Wolf Point, MT. Allan and Margaret spent their married years all in Glasgow. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, American Legion, and Railroad Retirees.

In the early morning hours on Sunday April 24, 2005 God welcomed Andrew Farrar back into his loving arms. Andrew, age 15 had battled cancer for the past 8 years. He died at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow MT in the presence of his parents and surrounded by family and mends.
Andrew was born October 27, 1989 in Havre, MT. He moved with his family to Glendive in 1990 and then to Malta in 1992. In 1995 they moved to Glasgow where he started kindergarten and has lived since. At the time of his death, Andrew was a freshman at Glasgow High School.
Andrew enjoyed skateboarding, BMX bikes, bowling, playing pool, putting together models, art, especially drawing cars and pickups, hunting, playing computer games, play station and hanging out with his friends.
When Andrew was younger he played with Legos and K-Nex and was known for the amazing things he could build with them.
This year he enjoyed being a part of the Glasgow Scottie wrestling team as their video-grapher, and was looking forward to next season.
Although Andrew was never able to participate in sports his courage, determination and perseverance would rival any athlete. He was a true inspiration to those he came in contact with.

She graduated from Hinsdale High School in 1945. On March 31, 1946 Mamie married Clayton N. Meland in Glasgow, MT. They lived in Hinsdale from 1946 to 1949, then moved to Nashua and lived their until 1999. Clayton passed away in 1999 and she moved to the Nemont Manor in Glasgow, and later to the Prairie Ridge in Glasgow in October of 2003.
She worked 9 years at the Café in Nashua, 9 years at B & B Foods in Nashua, and then 16 years as a clerk at J.C. Penny’s, retiring in 1989. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and enjoyed bingo, playing cards, and dancing.

Gordon Maxness, age 68, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at Billings
Deaconess Hospital due to a massive stroke. Services will be Friday, April 15th at the Evangelical Church in Glasgow with Pastor Emory Robotham and Pastor Jay Ashbaucher officiating.
Gordon was born on January 11, 1937 in Glasgow Montana to John and Thelma (Dascher) Maxness. He graduated from Glasgow High School in 1955.
Gordon was married to Marilyn (Hatton) Maxness. He later married Karen (Koskey) Beede in February, 1996.
In his earlier years, Gordon worked construction for Francis Muggli, was a mechanic at Hanson-Mersen Motors, worked for Fossum Ready Mix, and was a salesman for Markle’s Implement. He went to work for Peavey Elevator as a salesman and later became the manager. In 1982, he purchased the elevator and renamed it Valco AgriServices. In the last few years, he has been farming and selling seed through his own business, AgriMax.
Gordon is a member of the Glasgow Elks. He was in the National Guards.
He was a past member of the Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital Board. He raised hogs at one point in his life, and was involved with Pork Producers.
He was also active in a variety of Chamber activities.
Gordon enjoyed taking trips on his Harley Davidson. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He loved tinkering in his shop, and enjoyed building things for his grandchildren including step stools, shelves and playhouses. He built a majority of his home at the lake. He was always willing to tackle a “honey-do” list from Karen or his daughters. Cherished times were spent playing with his grandchildren and sharing all his wisdom with them.
Gordon is survived by his wife, Karen; and his four children: John J. (Dana) Maxness, Laura (Dean) Barnes, Billy (Terri) Beede and Michelle (Emmett) Dougherty. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Morgan Scott, Erin and Ethan Maxness, Alexa Barnes, Tori, Tana and Bo Beede, Katie, Maggie and Micayla Dougherty. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Kyle Barnes.
Pallbearers are Richard Akre, Carl Erickson, Orville Fossum, Gene Alsberg, Norris Thompson and Robert Winderl.
