Bernice, one of five children, attended schools in Opheim, Peerless, and Glasgow. She married Don C. Daggett in Glasgow on November 20, 1954. They lived in Havre from 1954 to 1960 when they moved back to Glasgow. Bunny was a part time bookkeeper and housewife. She enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, and playing cards. She collected old dishes and coins, and especially enjoyed her family get togethers and all her friends. She was active in her church, the Community of Christ Church.

Mylo Gregory Simonson was born on July 1, 1956 in Renton, Washington. He attended school and received his GED in Renton. He joined the US Army and served in Germany. After the service Mylo attended an Auto-Mechanic School and worked in auto body repair construction. He also worked as a landscaper.
Mylo was married in 1977 in Woodinville, Washington and they were divorced in 1996. He was a member of the VFW, was baptized a Lutheran and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Helmer Bakke

MALTA/SACO-Helmer Bakke, 88 Years, a retired farmer and rancher, died Friday, April 18 at St. John’s Lutheran Ministries Hospices Nursing Home in Billings, following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, April 28, at the Elim Lutheran Church in Malta. Interment will be in the Reitan Cemetery, North of Saco. Adams Funeral Home of Malta is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Edna M. Bakke of Malta; foster daughter, Jamie (Kirby) Lauckner of Nashua-Fort Peck; sister, Mollie Emmons of Saco; nephew Phil Emmons of Billings.
Helmer was born on the family ranch, 25 miles north of Saco on November 9, 1919. He was the son of Peder O. and Anne (Erickson) Bakke. Preceded in death by a sister Mildred Bakke, and brother Olaf Bakke. Helmer was raised on the ranch and graduated from Whitewater High School. Helmer was a devout Christian and hard worker devoting his life to his religion and family. He married Edna M. Anderson on July 9, 1970 in Columbus and the made their home on the ranch. The friendships that were shared within the community meant so much to them. Helmer was appointed to the original Phillips County Tax Appeal Board in July 1983 and served until March of 1992. After 85 years they sold the ranch Oct.1, 2005 and retired to Malta. They were active in the Elim Lutheran Church. Visiting with his sister Mollie daily on the phone about the day’s weather and such was of most importance. Just to hear her voice daily meant the world to him, they shared a very special bond. He enjoyed bowling, in which he received many trophies; playing cards, especially pinochle; collecting silver dollars and rattle snake buttons, which he killed and collected himself; taking pride in making the largest twine ball in the world, doing this just by using his everyday twine from chores; being outside working and enjoying all of God’s creations with Edna by his side; and especially visiting with family and friends.

Johnie moved from Oklahoma to Texas at a very young age, and then moved back to Comanche where he graduated from high school. Johnie was drafted into the US Army at age 18, then serving in the Korean War. After the war he reinstated and served 4 more years in Germany and other places in Europe.
On July 9, 1960 Johnie married Rosalie Siggelrow at Clayton, New Mexico. Johnie drove a semi truck and went custom combining. They lived in Amarillo, Texas for two years, then moving to Scobey, Montana for two years. In 1964 Johnie and Rosalie moved to Glasgow where Johnie started driving bus Glasgow Air Force Base down into Glasgow. He later worked for the Motor Pool at the base, Valley Industrial Park, and Tumpane. He also enjoyed farming.
Johnie drove the Scottie Cruiser from 1964 to 1998 and also drove the Fort Peck Route from 1984 to 1995. Johnie enjoyed fishing, hunting and listening to music.
