Ella L. Baker Vohs passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital of natural causes. She was born in Macon, Saskatchewan, Canada on April 10, 1912, the only daughter of Erik and Anna Gulbertson Domholt. Her father passed away when she was 6 years old and she and her mother later moved to Williston, North Dakota. In 1926 they moved to Glasgow where she resided for the next 80 years.
Ella's first husband, Ray A. Baker passed away June 1, 1954. Four children were born to this union. She later married Donald Vohs and he passed away in 1998. Also, preceding her in death were an infant son John Brian, son Robert "Bob" Baker, daughter Patricia Baker LaFond, and her parents.
Ella is survived by her daughter Lael Weigum and her husband George of Roseburg, Oregon, daughter-in-law Pat Baker of Billings and son-in-law Guy LaFond of Wenatchee, Washington, eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by nephews Jim Carney and his wife Nancy and Dan Carney and his wife Earlene, all of Glasgow.
A Celebration and Remembrance of Ella's life will be held Saturday, March 4, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. in the Congregational Church. According to her wishes a private committal will be held.

BORN: March 30, 1911 in Alva, Oklahoma
PARENTS: Erwin and Edna (Lewis) Searles
Genevieve Jackson passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2006. She was born on March 30, 1911 in Alva, OK to Edna (Lewis) and Erwin Searles, the second of five children. At the age of three the family moved to Wheatland, WY where they homesteaded. She married V.C. Jackson there on April 17, 1929 and her three children were born there. In 1939 they moved to Longmont, CO. In 1949 they moved to Glasgow, MT. She worked as a housekeeper for many years for the Dr. Gregory family, the Charles Brocksmith family and the Brayko's at the Bell Motel. She worked at the Campbell Lodge in the laundry for a time before going to work at the Deaconess Hospital, where she worked for over twenty years in housekeeping, retiring at the age of 78. She and V.C. were custodians at the First National Bank and MDU offices for many years.
Jenny loved working outside and raised a large garden at their cabin at the lake and at her home in town. She also raised beautiful flowers. She raised her last garden at age 88. She was death on weeds and dandelions. Those little hands must have picked thousands. She loved being at the lake and fishing. She made melt in your mouth breads and pastries.

Eighteen great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband V.C of 73 years in 2001, one brother Emmett Searles, two sisters, Julia Spangler and Irene Treat, two grandsons; Erwin (Butch) Jackson and Mark Adler, and one great granddaughter Kayleen Franzen.

William "Bill" Lawrence was born iin Opheim, Montana on September 10, 1930.
He farmed and ranched his entire life in the Richland, Montana area. He married Katherine Capdeville on November 14, 1953 at Opheim. He followed Class C High School basketball anywhere and everywhere. He also enjoyed watching his son Doug play football and his grandson Bryce. He played cards, and liked to bet with anyone. He enjoyed deer hunting.

Una married Lawrence Weller on June 3, 1934 in Billings, Montana. She worked as a housewife, postal worker, and as a cook. She was active in the community with Extension Homemakers and Pythian Sisters. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and gardening.

BORN: January 13, 1921 in Butte, Montana
PARENTS: Frank J. Birmingham and Erma (Pudas) Birmingham
She attended grade school in Butte and graduated from Butte High School in May of 1938. Lois started working for Anaconda Copper Mining Co. as a typist, doing most of the corporate communications for the company's CEO's.
In March of 1942 she met Walter R. Wiers and after a short courtship they were married on June 7, 1942. After their honeymoon they made their home in Anaconda where Walter worked at the smelter plant. In 1943 they moved to Bremerton, Washington where they both worked in the Naval Yard.
Walter was called to duty as a Navy CB and was sent overseas. Lois returned to Butte and lived with her parents until Walter returned home in the summer of 1945.
In September of 1945 Lois and Walter moved to Wolf Point, Montana. In October of 1946 Lois had their first son, Frank Richard Wiers. Lois worked at the Clerk and Recorder's Office until July of 1948 when she had her second son, Kenneth Dale Wiers on July 12, her rodeo baby. Lois remained home until 1954 raising the boys.
She started working for Farmers Union Oil Co. in the fall of 1954 as office manager. In 1957 Lois went to work for the Veteran Welfare Administration under Frank Loucks in the Wolf Point, Office. In May of 1963 Lois accepted the office manager position for the Tosoro Oil Co., a Houston, Texas oil company. In 1968 she began working at the Faith Lutheran Home and transferred to the Trinity Hospital as the ward clerk until 1975.
Lois was very active with Degree of Honor Protective Association, a fraternal Life Insurance Co. She was the local president and was offered the State Directors Position, based on past policy sales and experience in the insurance industry.
In 1987 Lois decided to retire and spend more time with friends and less time traveling for the insurance company. Lois remained very active in the community and enjoyed playing cards with friends and looked forward to visits from her sons and family. She moved into the Valley View Nursing Home in Glasgow in 2000.
