Ivan L. Miller
Ivan L. Miller, 86, died February 17th, 2000 at Valley View Nursing Home in Glasgow of natural causes. Services will be Tuesday, February 22nd at the Evangelical Church in Glasgow with burial in Highland Cemetery. Reverend Jay Ashbaucher is officiating and Bell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
He was born in Lane, South Dakota, in 1913 and married Helen Dascher in 1937 in Glasgow. After their marriage they lived in Omaha and Buffalo, New York, where Ivan was in airplane wing construction. They also lived in Lane, South Dakota, before coming to their farm in Montana in 1954, where they have lived since. In May 1988, Ivan and Helen were named Valley County Senior Citizens of the Year. Ivan enjoyed horseshoe pitching, bowling and pool. He enjoyed his friends and neighbors. Helen died in July 1998.
Survivors include 1 son, Randy Miller of Chandler, Arizona; 3 grandchildren and 1 sister, Wilma Noyes of Wessington Springs, South Dakota. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen in 1998 and son Larry in 1988.
Jace Campbell
Jace Campbell, infant son of Dannielle Hanneson and Ryan Campbell, was stillborn on February 18th, 2000. Services were held in Glendive on February 21st at Zion Lutheran Church.
Jace Campbell is survived by his parents of Glendive, grandmother Floranne Hanneson, grandfather Bob Campbell, great grandmother Bev Gallagher and several aunts & uncles.
Mildred Todd Ellison
Mildred Todd Ellison, age 97, died Tuesday, February 15th, 2000 at Valley View Nursing Home in Glasgow. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 19th, 2000 at 2 p.m. at the Bell Chapel in Glasgow. Burial will be at the Highline Cemetery in Glasgow. Bell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements
Mildred was born December 31st, 1902 in Luverne, Minnesota. She moved to Montana with her parents in 1914. She married George Allison in October 1923 in Miles City and they ranched near Jordan, Montana and later lived in Wheeler during the construction of the Fort Peck Dam. They moved to Glasgow in 1941. She married Walter Ellison in 1956 and they lived in Absarokee and Glasgow where he died in 1976.
Mildred is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Hurly of Glasgow and Merle Hanneman of Mesa, Arizona, as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Chester Moen
Chester Moen, age 90, died of natural causes on Thursday, January 27th, 2000 at Valley View Nursing Home in Glasgow. Services will be Monday, January 31st, at 11 am at the First United Methodist Church in Glasgow with Reverend. Dave Hodsdon officiating and with burial in Highland Cemetery. Bell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Chester was born in Manfred, North Dakota, in 1909. At the age of 6 months he moved with his family to a homestead south of Tampico. He attended schools at the Billingsley School and Tampico School. He went to work for the railroad at age 14 and he also worked on several ranch jobs. Chester joined the Army in 1929 and served in Hawaii until 1932. He married Eunice Burrus in 1935 in Glasgow. He worked on the construction of the Fort Peck Dam and during World War II he worked for the Todd Pacific Ship Yards in Seattle from 1942 to 1945. After the war he returned to Glasgow and worked for the elevator, Sinclair Produce, and then for Johnson Plumbing and Heating for 20 years until he retired in 1974. He enjoyed traveling all over the U.S., golf, playing cards, bingo and was an avid reader.
Survivors include his wife Eunice of Glasgow;1 daughter, Phyllis and her husband Bill Sanguine of Kalispell; 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and 1 sister, Lorna Russell of Temple Terrace, Florida. She was preceded in death by a daughter, 4 sisters and 6 brothers.
Margaret R. Sunderland
Margaret R. Sunderland, 90, died January 27th, 2000 at the Phillips County Good Samaritan Center in Malta, where she has been a resident for the past 10 years. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 31st, at the Malta Assembly of God Church. A reception will follow the funeral service and burial will be in the Grandview Cemetery in Saco at 4 pm. Adams Funeral Home in Malta is in charge of arrangements.
She was born in 1910 in Amarillo, Texas, moving with her parents to a homestead north of Saco in 1912. She graduated from Saco High and attended nurses training and graduated from Deaconess School of Nursing with honors in Great Falls. In 1931 she took the State of Montana State Boards. She began her nursing in Glasgow, before going to Fort Peck for the government and was then sent to Juneau, Alaska, by the Corps of Engineers. She married Rex Sunderland in 1939 in Juneau. They moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho, in 1946, and she was the Administrator and Registered Nurse at the hospital there. She drew up the plans for a new hospital at Bonners Ferry. They then moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico, in 1963, where she continued nursing, and then in 1970 to Portales, New Mexico. From there, she went to St. Louis to attend a refresher course in anesthesiology. She worked as a registered nurse and an anesthetist for over 50 years. After retirement in 1977, they moved to Fruitland, Idaho. They took a trip to New Zealand and Australia, which was a high point of their life together. Mr. Sunderland died in 1981. In 1987 Margaret returned to Montana and has been living in Malta since. She was a kind and caring person and dedicated her life to others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Survivors include a brother, Donald Ted White of Los Angeles, and a sister, Dorothy Storie of Ridgefield, Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
William Henry Sugg Senior
William Henry Sugg Senior, age 72, died of natural causes at Valley View Nursing Home in Glasgow on January 28th, 2000. Services will be Tuesday, February 1st, at 11 am, at Calvary Baptist Church in Glasgow, with burial in Highland Cemetery. Jerry Overcast will be officiating and Bell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
He was born in Cave City, Arkansas, in 1928 and attended schools there, joining the Air Force in 1946. He worked as a mechanic at the Malstrom Air Base Fire Station. He met and married Mary Beauchamp in 1947 in Great Falls. He worked for the Glasgow Auto Wrecking until he retired. He taught his sons how to hunt and fish, and enjoyed Indian Pow Wows, fishing, working on cars, and liked to visit with his grandchildren.
Survivors include 4 sons: William Sugg Junior of Glasgow, Ernest of Glasgow, Jeff of Longview, Washington, and Joseph of Wolf Point; 2 daughters: Judy Bow of Wolf Point, and Margaret Sugg of Glasgow; brothers and sisters in Arkansas, 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Dale Loran Green, age 48, died Wednesday, January 19, 2000 at his home in Malta of an apparent heart attack. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 22, 2000 at 11 a.m. at the Malta Lutheran Church with a reception to follow at the VFW. Family and friends are invited to attend a wake service at the Adams Memorial Chapel on Friday, January 21, 2000 at 7:30 P.M. Adams Funeral Home of Malta is in charge of arrangements
Loran was born December 18, 1951 in Malta, Montana to Dale and Fern (Oxarart) Green and was the eldest of six children. He was educated at the Washington School in the Content community, South Wagner, and Malta schools, graduating from Malta High School in 1970.
Loran was active in 4-H and FFA He worked at various farm and ranch operations including Benny Milks, JJ Smith, the Oxarart and Blatter ranches, and as a salesman for Havre Implement and Valley Implement. In 1974 he married Susan Fewer and of this union, one daughter, Susan Mae Green, was born. Loran and Susan later divorced. In l980 he married Ann Anderson and they later divorced.
In the late 1980's Loran developed, patented and marketed a plastic universal retractable finger and holder for harvest machines and sales are marketed worldwide. He was renown for his barbecue services and snow removal. Loran was also a talented, gifted artist as well as a joke teller, always sharing a laugh and story. He was a very caring and generous man, who would give someone the last ten dollars to his name.
A long time dream of Loran's was fulfilled when he prepared a 6040 lbs. hamburger in September 1999 to make it into the Guinness Book of World Records. Loran was lovingly called "Uncle Buck" by his nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Loran is survived by his daughter, Susan, of Malta, two sisters and brother-in-law's, Kari and Sid Hould of Dodson, Sherry and Dennis Young of Glasgow; two brothers and sister-in-law's, Jean and Jeanie Green of Whitewater, and Brian and Anita Green of Malta. He is also survived by his nephews, Jonathon, Marcus, Keith, Dale and Dallas Green, Jace Young, Preston and Scott Hould; nieces Janine Hould, Shannon Stroh, Sarah Lee, Marisa, Melanie and Sarina Green, and Jennifer Young. He is also survived by great nephews and nieces, Boyd and Qwinton Stroh, Justin, Tasha, and Michael Lee.
Emily Rose Ereaux-Kirchgasler
Emily Rose Ereaux-Kirchgasler, age 4, died at Rapid City Regional Hospital due to a car accident on January 9th, 2000. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 12th at 9:00am in the Rooks & Kirk Funeral Home Chapel of Light in Rapid City with Pastor Jim Montieth officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:00pm on Thursday, January 13th at the Malta Cemetery in Malta Montana.
Emily Rose was born December 31st, 1995 to Brenda Kirchgasler and Robert Ercaux in Phillp, SD. She recently moved to Rapid City from Chinook, Montana. Emily loved to entertain with her singing and dancing. She loved to draw and paint and she loved animals. Emily taught us all about caring, courage, and never ending love; she was an angel. She loved everybody and touched the hearts of all she met.
Survivors include: mother; Brenda Kirchgasler of Rapid City, SD., father; Robert Ercaux of Havre, Mt., grandparents; Marlene Kirchgasler of Rapid City, SD., and Claude and Jane Ercaux of Malta, Mt.
Viola "Vi" Boehm
Viola "Vi" Boehm, 83, died at Valley View Nursing Home in Glasgow on January 6th, 2000 of natural causes. Services will be at Bell Chapel in Glasgow on Monday, January 10th at 11 am, with Joe Buckley officiating and with burial in Highland Cemetery. Bell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Vi was born in Medina, North Dakota, and raised there, moving later to Valley County. She married Ervin Boehm in 1938 at Glasgow. They lived on their farm south of Glasgow until moving into Glasgow in 1971. She worked at AVCO at the Glasgow Air Force Base for several years, and also worked at Normont Dairy in Glasgow and at Pamida in Glasgow. She was also a farm wife for many years. She enjoyed raising chickens, at one time 200 laying hens, and she enjoyed gardening. Via was a member of Jehova Witness.
Survivors include her husband Ervin Boehm of Glasgow; 3 daughters: Issella Cook, Sally Chuland and Terry Lynn Lighthizer, all of Glasgow; 7 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; 1 brother, Ben Harr of Minnesota; 1 sister, Irene Stoddard of Jamestown, North Dakota.
Celenire Bouchard Belle Doyon
Celenire Bouchard Belle Doyon, 87, died January 4th, 2000 of natural causes at Valley View Nursing Home in Glasgow. Services will be Saturday, January 8th at 1 pm at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Glasgow, with Reverend Thad Kozikowski officiating. A Vigil service will be held Friday, January 7th at 7 pm at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery and Bell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
She was born in 1912 in Torkway, Saskatchewan. At age 2 she moved with her parents to the Harb Community southeast of Malta. Later the family moved to a farm south of Glentana. In 1929 she married Syver Hansen Belle at Glentana. They lived and farmed on Syver's homestead. He passed away in 1943. She later married Emery Doyon of Scobey. He passed away in 1973. She was a 4-H leader and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, rug weaving, gardening, flowers, music and her family.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Evelyn Tadej of Geraldine, Montana, and Helen Fultz of Fort Benton; 1 son, Sever Belle of Coronack, Saskatchewan; 1 sister, Marie Hunter of Dayton, Washington; 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, and 3 brothers.
Jean Carroll Dunson
Jean Carroll Dunson, 65, died at Fairview University Hospital in Minneapolis on January 4th, 2000, after a long illness. Services will be at 11 am on January 7th, at Bell Chapel in Glasgow, with Reverend Martin Mock officiating and with burial in Highland Cemetery. Bell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
She was born in 1934 in Nashua to John and Myrtle French. She was raised in Nashua and in 1952 married Vern Dunson in Glasgow. They lived in Alaska and the southern United States while Vern was a seismographer and worked in the oil fields until 1963. They were later divorced. From 1963-78 she lived in southern California. In 1978 she came to live with her mother on the farm in the Nashua area. Jean had a valiant will to live and survived a lung transplant for 5 years. She enjoyed dancing, sewing and being a mother. She will be remembered by her laughter.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Daphne Zortman of Billings and Erica Gratwohl of Winnemucca, Nevada; 3 grandchildren: Joshuah, Jean Marie and Jackson of Winnemucca; 2 sisters: Lorraine Gundermann of Glasgow and LaVerne McLees of Tampa, Florida. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, 2 sisters and a brother.
