William A. Cochran Jr, age 64, of Glasgow, MT, retired postal worker and Direct Care Provider, died on October 2, 2008 at the Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow, MT.
He was born in Vallejo, CA and lived in many parts of the world as his father was in the US Navy.
During his life he enjoyed many interests including hunting, fishing, skiing, hot air ballooning, and Special Olympics. He especially like NASCAR, drag racing, hot rods, customs, motorcycles, and “messing” with the English language. He was a member of the masons, elks, and Campus Vitus. He also belonged to hot rod, custom car, motorcycle, and hunting organizations.
Survivors include sons William Cochran III of Dayton, Nevada and Kelly Cochran of Milpitas, California, sisters Patricia of Lemore, CA, Janice of San Jose, CA, and Mary of Princeville, Hawaii.
Julia H. Romo

SACO-Julia H. (Roessner) Romo, 93, a homemaker, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at the Phillips County Hospital after a long illness.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at the Saco Methodist Church in Saco. Interment will be in the Grandview Cemetery at Saco. Memorial may be made to the Saco Ambulance. Adams Kirkwood Funeral Home of Malta is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Walter Romo of Saco; daughters, Julia Belcher of Lolo, Eunice Romo of Saco; son, Charles (Shelley) Romo of Glasgow; 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, along with many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
Julia was born September 14, 1915 in Winona, Minnesota, the daughter of Charles and Dorothea (Wulff) Roessner. In 1916 her family moved to a homestead south of Saco, Montana. She attended school in a one room school house in Saco, also in Bowdoin and graduated from high school in Bainville, Montana.
She married Walter Romo, the love of her life on September 9, 1936 in Malta. Julia recently celebrated her 72nd Wedding Anniversary and 93rd birthday. Julia and Walter lived in a variety of places in Eastern Montana until 1951 when they took over the family homestead and expanded it to 5, 000 acres until they retired a few years ago. Julia made a large contribution to the success of the farm by doing the majority of the summer following until she was 75 years old. Eventually they moved permanently to their winter in Saco. Later she became quite well known for her “Flower Fantasies” made of pressed flowers. Her husband Walter shares her passion and hobby by making the cedar frames for her creations. Her work is on display in many homes through out the United States.

Jene Beatrice Anderson, passed away on September 23, 2008, at the Francis Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow, MT., at age 82 after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Her husband Dan was at her side.
She was born January 23, 1926 in Plentywood to Roy and Elma Dorwin of Flaxville.
Jene graduated from Flaxville high school and went to work in Great Falls as a bank teller before returning to Northeast Montana to work in the bank in Reserve Montana.
She met Dan at a wedding where they were the Best Man and Maid of Honor for Ray and Donna Padgett.
Jene married Dan W. Anderson on January 20, 1955. She and Dan ranched together south of Opheim for 50+ years and raised their family there.
Family meant a lot to Jene, and family gatherings with her children and grandchildren were very important throughout her life. These gatherings were always accentuated with Jene’s cooking and her homemade cookies, buns, and deserts. There was always enough room and food at Jene’s table for an extra person to drop in.
Jene loved her gardening and always grew an abundance of vegetables and flowers. All of her grandchildren loved her great sweet pickles.
Jene is survived by her husband of 53 years, Dan Anderson, her sons; Randy (Paula) Anderson, Larry (Kris) Anderson and Russell (Twyla) Anderson, her daughters; Sherry (Keith) Hatfield, of Gardiner, Pam Anderson (Dave) of Livingston and Holly (Claude) Long of Gardiner, and 8 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a special cousin, Mary Roos, one grandson, and one infant son.

She lived her entire life in North Valley County, moving to Glasgow in 2002. She has lived at Nemont Manor, Prairie Ridge, and this past year at the Valley View Nursing Home.
While going to high school she worked for a $1.00 a day at the hospital. On July 5, 1937 Lenore married Straud Alden in Glasgow, Montana. They lived in Glasgow until 1945 where Straud worked for Markle’s and then they moved out to the farm.
She enjoyed gardening, embroidering, and was active with the Larslan Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Lenore was a 4-H Leader, superintendent at the fair, and a Sunday School Superintendent. She was an avid letter writer and was a member of the Home Demonstration Club.

Born is Crosby, she attended kindergarten there and grade school in Dora Lake, MN in a one room country school, and then high school at Detroit Lakes, MN, graduating in 1941.
Harriet married Elton M. Bud Aamoth on August 15, 1942 in Detroit Lakes, MN. They lived in Detroit Lakes and California before settling in Glasgow in 1962. Harriet started working for a blind man, John Kasseth, for ten years at his new stand in the post office and at the same time worked as an office clerk at the local salesyard for twelve years and later at the Federated Department Store for 17 years.
She enjoyed knitting, made many beautiful quilts for her family and also made photo albums for her girls and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud, in 1998, parents, and three sisters, and one son-in-law, Dave Sever.
Harriet is survived by her two daughters; Rozanne (Richard) Dukleth of Havre, MT and Joyce Sever of Pe Ell, Washington, four grandchildren; Michelle (Tom) Mandera, and Tim Dukleth, both of Helena, MT, Julie (Bob) McCalden and Dan Sever, both of Pe Ell, Washington, three great grandchildren; Joleigh Mandera who is awaiting a little sister and Kaleb and Joey McCalden, a cousin Skip Halverson of Billings, MT, and three sisters-in-law; Joan Hansen of Williston, ND, Mona (Irv) Ackerman of Los Angeles, CA, and Sidona Ranger of Sylmar, California.
