Mrs. Nannie Gilchrist
LILLINGTON - Mrs. Nannie McDonald Gilchrist, 94, of Route 2, died Friday, March 27, 1998, at her home.
She was the wife of the late Mr. Isaac Jones Gilchrist and was a homemaker.
Survivors include 10 daughters, Ms. Yvonne Casto, Ms. Dot Johnson, Ms. Elaine Womack, Ms. Brenda Gilchrist and Ms. Clive Thomas, all of Lillington, Ms. Laverne White of Greensboro, Ms. Wonnie Jordan of Fayetteville, Ms. Peggy Smith of Portland, Ore., Ms. Faye Porter of Raleigh; and Ms. Gail Sloane of Pittsboro; 39 grand-children; 62 great-grand-chil-dren; and 13 great-great-grand-children.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Ms. Maxine Gilchrist and Ms. Ina Mae Womack.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Union United Methodist Church by the Rev. James Caviness and the Rev. Bertrand Pitchford. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at Adcock Funeral Home from 7 to 9 this evening, and at other times at the home.

Mr. T. Ervin Teague
BURLINGTON - Mr. T. Ervin Teague, 80, of 416 Bryan St., died Saturday morning, March 28, 1998, at his home.

Mr. Larry J. Poole
MEBANE - Mr. Larry James Poole, 62, of 5407 Lynch Store Road, died at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 27, 1998, at his home after a sudden illness.
A native of Orange County, he was the husband of Mrs. Patricia 'Pat' Ann Oliver Poole, who survives, and the son of Mr. Charles T. Poole and Mrs. Addie Broach Poole, both deceased. He was a retired farmer and a retired employee of Foust Fuels.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include two daughters, Mrs. Cindy Winchester of Kannapolis and Mrs. Carol Williams of Mebane; a son, Mr. Brent Poole of the home; two sisters, Miss Juanita Poole of Durham and Mrs. Frances Leonard of High Point; three brothers, Mr. Wilbur Poole of Cedar Grove, Mr. Hassell Poole of Burlington and Mr. R.B. Poole of Durham; and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Mount Zion Christian Church by the Rev. Donald Thompson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane from 6:30 to 8:30 this evening, and at other times at the home.

Ms. Phyllis J. Yoder
GRAHAM - Ms. Phyllis Jean Yoder, 57, of 4470 Wild Life Road, died at 5:10 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 1998, at her home.
Born Dec. 23, 1940, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of Mr. T.O. Yoder, who survives, and the late Mrs. Vertie Shook Yoder. She was an employee of West Point Steven and was a Baptist.
Survivors other than her father of Burlington include two daughter, Ms. Debbie Yoder of the home and Ms. Dixie Bare of Graham; three brothers, Mr. T.O. Yoder Jr. of Las Vegas, Mr. Jimmy Yoder and Mr. Wayne Yoder, both of Swepsonville; a stepbrother, Mr. Hubert Gray of Baitty, Nev.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Chardean Jones.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham by the Rev. Max Rich. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.

Mrs. Bessie L. Faucette
MEBANE - Mrs. Bessie Lillian Faucette of 262 Curry St., died Friday, March 27, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a long illness.

Mr. T. Ervin Teague
BURLINGTON - Mr. T. Ervin Teague, 80, of 416 Bryan St., died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 1998, at his home after a sudden illness.
A native of Chatham County, he was the husband of Mrs. Ruth Isley Teague for 57 years, and was the son of Mr. Lonnie D. Teague and Mrs. Pearl Buckner Teague, both deceased. He was a retired product manager at Coca-Cola for 42 years.
He was past president of the Exchange Club of North Carolina, and treasurer of the Alamance Executive Club for 11 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Graham for 55 years. He served as a deacon, treasurer, and was a member of the Workers Sunday School class and various committees of the church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include two sons, Mr. Larry T. Teague of Duluth, Minn., and Mr. D. Keith Teague of Elizabeth City; one sister, Mrs. Esther T. Siler of Sanford; two brothers, Mr. Blake Teague and Mr. Clyde Teague, both of Siler City; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. Elroy Teague and Mr. Kefton Teague.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Graham by Dr. Paul Lane, pastor. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 Tuesday evening, and at other times at the home.

Mr. Charles F. Marks
HAW RIVER - Mr. Charles F. 'Frankie' Marks, 52, of 619 Keck Road, died at 7 a.m. Sunday, March 29, 1998, at his home after one year of failing health, one week critical.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Donna Cates Marks, who survives, and the son of Mrs. Pauline Tew Marks, who survives and the late Mr. Wallace Crawford Marks. He was employed at the University of North Carolina's Co-Generation Plant. He was an Army veteran of the Viet Nam War, and a member of the American Legion Post 427 in Haw River. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Haw River.
Survivors other than his wife of the home and his mother of Graham include one daughter, Mrs. Debra Marks Huffines of Graham; three sisters, Mrs. Lela Marks Dickey and Mrs. Mary Marks Best, both of Burlington, and Mrs. Ann Marks Alvis of Haw River; four brothers, Mr. Dwight Marks, Mr. Robert Marks, Mr. Tim Marks and Mr. David Marks, all of Burlington.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. James Marks and Mr. Albert Marks.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham by the Rev. Fred Madren, pastor of City Lake Baptist Church. Burial will be in Graham Memorial Park.

Ms. Mary R. Briggs
LEXINGTON - Ms. Mary Rudd Briggs, 86, of 214 Beck's Church Road, died Sunday, March 29, 1998, at Lexington Memorial Hospital after three years of failing health.
Born Nov. 22, 1911, in Caswell County, she was the wife of Mr. Dewey C. Briggs, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. George Rudd Sr. and Mrs. Golden Chandler Rudd. She was retired from the Davidson County School System, and was a member of Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Ike (Peggy) Varner of Lexington; one brother, Mr. G.W. Rudd Jr. of Elon College; three sisters, Ms. Byrd Smith of Yanceyville, and Ms. Louise Smithey and Ms. Adell Anderson, both of Elon College; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by Elder Wallis Smith and the Rev. David Huddle. Burial will be in Beck's Lutheran Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 this evening at the home on Beck's Church Road in Lexington.

LIBERTY - Mr. Larry Wayne Kimrey, 48, died Friday, March 27, 1998, in a Durham hospital.
He was a native of Alamance County.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Devonna Shumate of Burlington; five sisters, Mrs. Nellie Euliss, Mrs. Jean Smith and Mrs. Deborah Cheek, all of Snow Camp, and Mrs. Ann Forrester and Mrs. Betty Wrenn, both of Burlington; and three brothers, Mr. Hobart Kimrey of Gastonia, Mr. Hal Kimrey of Elon College and Mr. Jimmy Kimrey of Liberty.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Loflin Funeral Home Chapel in Liberty.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 this evening.
Mrs. Jerri B. Horner
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Jerri Lynn Beck Horner, 41, of 101 Lindale St., died at 7:30 a.m. Friday, March 27, 1998, at her home.
A native of Wayne, N.J., she was the daughter of Mr. Foster Beck, who survives, and the late Mrs. Beatrice Williams Beck. She was employed by Fluor Daniel Co., Research Triangle Park.
Survivors other than her father of Graham include one son, Mr. Kenneth Cecil Beck of Graham; six sisters, Mrs. JoAnn Harris of Virginia, Mrs. Janice Beck of Pennsylvania, Mrs. Beatrice Ward and Miss Sharon Beck, both of Mebane, Mrs. Jay Proenza of Union City, N.J., and Mrs. Dana Bacon of Burlington; three brothers, Mr. Foster Beck Jr. and Mr. Walter Mark Beck, both of Haldon, N.J., and Mr. August Joseph Beck of Snow Camp.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. today at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham.

Mr. Edward M. Hicklin
BURLINGTON - Mr. Edward M. Hicklin, 79, of 2507 Saddle Club Road, died at 10:45 a.m. Monday, March 30, 1998, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham after a short illness.
A native of Florence, S.C., he was the husband of Mrs. Helen Truitt Hicklin, who survives, and the son of Mr. Robert Edward Hicklin and Mrs. Alice Lisk Hicklin, both deceased. He was the former regional manager with the Occidental Life Insurance Company. He attended Elon College and Purdue University. He was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran of World War II.
He was past president of the Life Underwriters Association, past president of the N.C. Life Underwriters Club and served as national trustee. He was past national director of the U.S. Junior Chamber of Commerce, past state chairman of the National Convention, N.C. Beauty Pageant. He was past local president, state director, national director and winner of the Key Man Award, Outstanding President Award and life member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce.
He was a member of the Rotary Club, the Elks Lodge, Toastmasters, YMCA Membership Committee, former president of the Chamber of Commerce, and was active in the United Fund, March of Dimes and Elon Homes for Children. He was the former campaign manager for Horace R. Kornegay, Congressman L. Richardson Preyer and Robin Britt. He was a member of Alamance Country Club and the Sons of the American Revolution. He was a member of Front Street United Methodist Church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a son, Mr. Edward M. Hicklin Jr. of Franklin, Tenn.; two daughters, Mrs. Jane H. Dawson of Fayetteville and Mrs. Lee Ann H. Hammonds of Archdale; a brother, the Rev. Robert Lane Hicklin of Kings Mountain; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Robert W. Hicklin.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Front Street United Methodist Church by Dr. William C. Simpson.
Members of the Life Underwriters Association and the Men's Bible Study Group of Front Street United Methodist Church will be honorary pallbearers.
The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home from 6 to 8 this evening, and at the church parlor following the service. At other times, they will be at the home.
