Mrs. Myrtle S. Miller
HAW RIVER - Mrs. Myrtle Lenora Sykes Miller, 83, of 119 Ferris St., died at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998, at her home after one year of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Jesse D. Webster Sr. and the late Mr. Willie F. Miller Sr. She was the daughter of Mr. Samuel Marshall Sykes and Mrs. Ida Cook Sykes, both deceased. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Linda Sue Dickey of Burlington; a son, Mr. Willie 'Bill' F. Miller Jr. of Haw River; three step daughters, Mrs. Betty Sue Smith, Mrs. Peggy Smith and Mrs. Janet Wilkinson, all of Mebane, a step son, Mr. David Webster of Shelby; 9 grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham by the Rev. Richard Meyers. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.
The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 7 to 9 this evening and other times at the home of the son, 810 Sherry Drive, Haw River.

Mrs. Mary K. Smith
LIBERTY - Mrs. Mary Kimrey Smith, 78, of 8838 Hinshaw Shop Road, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998, at White Oak Manor Nursing Home.
A native of Gaston County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Roy L. Kimrey and the late Mr. Walter V. Smith. She was retired from Acme Hosiery Mill and was a member of Hickory Grove United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Brenda Kimrey Moon of Graham; five sisters; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Loflin Funeral Home Chapel in Liberty by the Rev. Duane Partin and the Rev. Barbara Cochran. Burial will be in Hickory Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home from 7 to 9 this evening and at other times at the home of Brenda Moon, 311 Doggett Drive, Graham.

Mr. Lonzo W. Wallace
YANCEYVILLE - Mr. Lonzo Wladimir Wallace, 74, of 1107 County Home Road, died Friday, Feb. 27, 1998, at Danville Regional Hospital in Danville, Va.
Born Sept. 18, 1923, in Robeson County, he was the husband of Mrs. Gloria Washington Wallace, who survives, and the son of Mr. Wade Wallace and Mrs. Chessie Durant Wallace, both deceased. He was a graduate of North Carolina A&T State University and North Carolina State University. He was a retired vocational agriculture teacher at Bartlett Yancey High School in Caswell County and a lifetime member of the NAACP.
Survivors include the wife of the home; a son, Mr. Myron A. Wallace of Albuquerque, N.M.; a daughter, Mrs. Aleksei Wallace Reid of Charlotte; three brothers, Mr. Albert Wallace of San Francisco, Mr. Hollie Wallace of Baltimore, Md. and Mr. Prentice Wallace of Winnfield, La.; four sisters, Ms. Shirley Crawford and Ms. Fairysia Wallace, both of Baltimore, Ms. Marilyn Worley of Virginia Beach, Va. and Mendrelean Odum of Los Angeles and two grandchildren.
Fulton Funeral Home was in charge of the cremation arrangements.

Mr. Allen K. Scott
REIDSVILLE - Mr. Allen Keith 'Hippo' Scott, 50, of 846 Vaughn Road, died Sunday, March 1, 1998, at Annie Penn Hospital.
A native of Rockingham County, he was the wife of Mrs. Glenda M. Scott, who survives, and the son of Mr. John W. Scott and Mrs. Winnifred W. Scott, who both survive. He was a former slitter operator assistant with Golden Belt Manufacturing Co. He was a former member of the Monroeton Volunteer Fire Department and was a stock kart racer.
Survivors other than the wife of the home and parents of Reidsville, include two daughter, Mrs. Kim Pait and Ms. Denise Willard, both of Reidsville; a sister, Mrs. Billie Faye Doss of Reidsville and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Billy Harmon and Rev. Milton Warf. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens.
The family will be at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 7 to 9 this evening and at other times at the home.
Mrs. Josie W. Buckner
SILER CITY - Mrs. Josie Whitt Buckner, 96, of 207 South Second Ave., died Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998, at Chatham Hospital.
A native of Chatham County, she was retired from Paul Braxton School and was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Wren Bible Class.
Survivors include a daughter, Ms. Sara Frances Andrews of Burlington; a son, Mr. Gyles R. Buckner of Liberty; a sister, Ms. Jessie Whitt Scott of Haw River; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Smith & Buckner Chapel by the Rev. Thomas Sweeley. Burial will be in Chatham Memorial Park.
The family will be at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home from 6 to 8 this evening.

Mr. Homer B. Walker
GIBSONVILLE - Mr. Homer Bland Walker, 76, of 6085 N.C. 87 North, died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 1998, at his home after an illness of seven months.
A native of Caswell County, he was the husband of Mrs. Mary Williamson Walker, who survives, and the son of Mr. George Weldon Walker and Mrs. Annie Sartin Walker, both deceased. He was formerly employed with Glen Raven Mills and later retired from Annedeen Hosiery. He was a former member of Altamahaw Civitan Club and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Camp Springs United Methodist Church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include two sons, Mr. Bill Walker and Mr. Ken Walker, both of Elon College; three brothers, Mr. George W. Walker Jr. and Mr. Samuel Walker, both of Reidsville and Mr. John Mitchell Walker of Ruffin; one sister, Mrs. Mildred W. Combs of Gibsonville; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Charles Williamson Walker; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Hodges and Mrs. Rena Underwood; and one brother, Mr. Raymond Walker.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Camp Springs United Methodist Church by the Rev. Charles Litzenberger, pastor, and the Rev. C. Allen Myers, pastor of Apple's Chapel Christian Church. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in the Camp Springs Methodist Church cemetery.
The family will be at the home.

Miss Iola Summers
ELON COLLEGE - Miss Iola Summers, 93, of 7175 Summerdale Road, died at 6 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a short illness.
A native of Guilford County, she was the daughter of Mr. George Andrew Summers and Mrs. Lelia Brown Summers, both deceased. She was a member of Apple's Chapel Christian Church and attended Frieden's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Mary Shepherd of Elon College; and three brothers, Mr. George W. Summers and Mr. Arlie W. Summers, both of Elon College, and Mr. Roy G. Summers of Gibsonville.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Ms. Eula Gerringer; two brothers, Mr. Hubert A. Summers and the Rev. Daniel B. Summers.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Frieden's Lutheran Church by the Rev. Joyce Taipale, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Beulah Johnson
REIDSVILLE - Mrs. Beulah Stokes Johnson of 2406 Wagon Wheel Road died Tuesday, April 14, 1998, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro.
A native of Rockingham County, she was the daughter of Mr. Willis Stokes and Mrs. Lucinda Glass Stokes, both deceased. She was a member of Mount Herman Baptist Church in Ruffin. She was employed by Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Miller of Richmond, Va., for many years before she retired.
Survivors include a sister, Miss Jessie Stokes of the home.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Herman Baptist Church by the Rev. James Watkins. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at Fulton Funeral Home from 7 to 8 Friday evening, and at other times at the home.

BURLINGTON - Mr. Zack Taylor Robertson Jr., 61, of 1609 Wood Ave., died at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at his home.

Mrs. Virginia Burleson
MILFORD, Maine - Mrs. Virginia S. Burleson, 77, of Milford, died Sunday, March 1, 1998, at a Bangor, Maine, hospital.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Jack Burleson, and the daughter of Mr. John Bynum Allred and Mrs. Beulah Bunton Allred, both deceased.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. William (Mariam) Willette of the home; two sons, Mr. Richard Stinson and Mr. Keith Stinson, both of Ontario, Calif.; two brothers, Mr. Wayne Allred of Asheboro and Mr. Ralph Allred; two sisters, Mrs. Florine McDaries of Sneads Ferry and Mrs. Grace Michael of Elon College; 24 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ms. Virginia S. Martin; two sons, Mr. John B. Stinson and Mr. Marvin L. Stinson Jr.; two brothers, Mr. Bobby Allred and Mr. June Allred; a sister, Mrs. Argie Anderson; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pine Hill cemetery by the Rev. Greg Gooch.
Mr. Zack Robertson Jr.
BURLINGTON - Mr. Zack Taylor Robertson Jr., 61, of 1609 Wood Ave., died at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at his home after one year of failing health.
A native of Burlington, he was the husband of Mrs. Judy Ward Robertson, who survives, and the son of Mr. Zack Taylor Robertson and Mrs. Lucy Lewis Robertson, both deceased. He was formerly employed at Hole-In-One for more than 20 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a Presbyterian.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include three daughters, Mrs. Jerri Deaton, Mrs. Monica Robertson Wrenn and Mrs. Susan R. Swaim, all of Burlington; a sister, Mrs. Dorothy R. Mundy of Burlington; a brother, Mr. Lonnie Robertson of Mebane; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Bessie R. Faucette; and a brother, Mr. Hubert 'Dick' Robertson.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rich and Thompson Chapel in Graham by the Rev. Max Rich. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
