Mrs. Naomie Webster
MEBANE - Mrs. Naomie Pulliam Webster, 86, of 4503 Clayborne's Road, died at 7:55 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at Rehabilitation-Health Care Center in Graham after an illness of seven months, one week critical.
A native of Person County, she was the wife of the late Mr. John Edgar Webster, and the daughter of Mr. Grover Cleveland Pulliam and Mrs. Sarah Catherine Clayton Pulliam, both deceased. She was a homemaker and a member of Surl Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Janie W. Carver and Mrs. Sadie W. Stokes, both of Mebane; three sons, Mr. James Edward Webster and Mr. Donald Franklin Webster, both of Burlington, and Mr. Ralph Aaron Webster of Reidsville; a brother, Mr. David Cecil Pulliam of Burlington; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Grover Cecil Webster.
The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Mount Adar Baptist Church by the Rev. Chad Hall. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane from 6:30 to 8:30 Saturday evening, and at other times at the home of Mrs. Janie Carver, 4926 Corbett Ridge Road, Mebane.
Mrs. Ruth B. Bradner
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Ruth Barneycastle Bradner, 77, of 329 E. Davis St., died Wednesday afternoon, April 15, 1998, at Duke University Medical Center after one year of failing health, one week critical.
A native of Orange County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Bruce Bradner, and the daughter of Mr. Alexander Bradner and Mrs. Gertrude Bumgarner Bradner, both deceased. She was retired from Western Electric Company and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Burlington, where she was a former Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Ruth Hollar of Burlington; a son, Mr. Phillip B. Bradner of Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. Christine Spoon of Mebane and Mrs. Viola Turner of Asheboro; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lt. Col. Madeline B. McGuinnes and Ms. Mary B. Hayden; and a brother, Mr. Albert Barneycastle.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Pine Hill cemetery by the Rev. Phil Hughes, associate pastor of First Baptist Church of Burlington.

MEBANE - Mrs. Nodie Belle Bradsher Pettiford, 59, of 226 Honeysuckle St., died Thursday, April 16, 1998, at her home.
She was the wife of Mr. Guydine Pettiford.

LAS VEGAS - Mrs. Nettie T. Beavers, 75, died Tuesday, April 14, 1998, in Nevada.
Born March 2, 1923, she was the wife of Mr. Hugh J. Beavers, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. James Thompson and Mrs. Lena Thompson, both deceased.
Survivors other than her husband include two sons, Marlon Beavers and Kelley Beavers, both of Las Vegas; five sisters, Ruth Thelma Snead of Hillsborough, Verlene Rogers of Brooklyn, N.Y., Delores Marks, Bettye Johnson and Peggy Wright of Fort Washington, Md.; and seven grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Paynes Chapel AME Church in Hillsborough by the Rev. Dorothy Nordt. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mrs. Nodie B. Pettiford
MEBANE - Mrs. Nodie Belle Bradsher Pettiford, 59, of 226 Honeysuckle St., died Thursday, April 16, 1998, at her home.
A native of Person County, she was the wife of Mr. Guydine Pettiford, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. Edgar B. Bradsher and Mrs. Mary A. Vaughn Bradsher, both deceased. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Usher Board, Kitchen Committee and the Missionary Circle.
Survivors other than her husband of the home include a son, Mr. Quincey Herbin of Burlington; three daughters, Mrs. Shelia P. Ratliff, Ms. Modesta Pettiford and Ms. Melissa Pettiford, all of Burlington; a brother, Mr. Charlie Bradsher of Burlington; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. Willie Bradsher and Mr. James Bradsher; and a sister, Mrs. Emma Gant.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Union Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Rufus Johnson, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at the church from 7 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the home.

Mrs. Mable Cannady
MEBANE - Mrs. Mable Taylor Cannady of 1111 Holt St., died Thursday morning, April 16, 1998, at Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Graham after a short illness.
A native of Vance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Gerald Cannady, and the daughter of Mr. James Taylor and Mrs. Alice Matilda Taborn Taylor, both deceased. She was a graduate of Fayetteville State University. In 1990 she retired from the Alamance County School System, where she had taught at Pleasant Grove Elementary School and B. Everett Jordan Elementary School. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Kittrell.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Stephanie C. Cooke of Greensboro; a sister, Mrs. Lucille Crews of Henderson; a brother, Mr. Lee Morris Taylor of Kittrell; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church of Mebane, formerly Yadkin United Presbyterian Church, by the Rev. D. Logan. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Burial will be in Mebane Community Cemetery.

Mr. John Smith
SNOW CAMP - Mr. John William Smith, 73, of 6910 Beale Road, died Friday morning, April 17, 1998, at his home after several weeks of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Anna Laura McPherson Smith, who survives, and the son of Mr. William Jesse Smith and Mrs. Nezzie Crutchfield Smith, both deceased. He was a retired construction employee and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Sylvan Rurtian Club and was a member of Rock Creek United Methodist Church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include two sisters, Mrs. Nina Dodson and Mrs. Marie Dodson, both of Haw River.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Mr. Rezzie Smith, Mr. Clarence Smith and Mr. Cecil Smith.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Rock Creek United Methodist Church by the Rev. Steve Taylor, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

BURLINGTON - Mrs. Iris Christman Carter, 86, of 106 Woodale Drive, died at 9:15 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 1998, at Alamance Health Care Center after several years of failing health, two weeks critical.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Edward Lee Carter, and the daughter of Mr. William Arthur Christman and Mrs. Minnie Winn Christman, both deceased. She was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons and of First Baptist Church of Elon College.
Survivors include a son, Mr. Charles 'Sonny' Carter of the home; a brother, Mr. Dean Christman of White, Ga.; and three sisters, Mrs. Gwen Breedlove of McLeansville, Mrs. Judy Wyrick of Gibsonville and Mrs. Bernice Tickle of Elon College.

A native of Franklin County, she was the daughter of Mr. Robert Lee Horton and Mrs. Henrietta Denton Horton, both deceased. She was a textile employee and was a Baptist.
Survivors include four daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Shambley and Mrs. Carol Duggins, both of Burlington, Mrs. Barbara Bullard of Roanoke, Va., and Mrs. Patricia Ferrell of Graham; a son, Mr. James Bullard of Burlington; a brother, Mr. Roosevelt Horton of Louisburg; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

YANCEYVILLE - Mr. Alexander Graves of 5498 Burton Chapel Road, Mebane, died Tuesday, April 14, 1998, in the Meadowland Triangle Hospice in Hillsborough.
Born June 8, 1925 in Caswell County, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Sarah Corbett Graves, and the son of Mr. Azzie Allen Graves and Mrs. Lizzie Mims Graves, both deceased. He was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church and was a bus driver in Washington, D.C. before he retired.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Felisha G. Mayo or Washington, D.C.; two brothers, Mr. Herman Graves of Pelham and Mr. Percey Graves of Reidsville; three sisters, Mrs. Lucille G. Poole of Virginia Beach, Va., Mrs. Mattie Sue Lipscomb of Danville, Va. and Mrs. Mary G. Russell of Yanceyville; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mineral Springs Baptist Church by the Rev. Freddie Seabrook. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
