Mrs. Ailiene Patterson
MEBANE - Mrs. Ailiene Langley Richardson Patterson, 83, of 2502 N.C. 119 South, died at 6:40 p.m. Friday, May 1, 1998, at Presbyterian Home of Hawfields after several years of failing health. She was a former resident of 404 Vine St.
A native of Randolph County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Charles Ed Patterson and the daughter of Mr. Robert Langley and Mrs. Holly Siler Langley, both deceased. She was a retired textile employee and was a member of People's Church.
Survivors include a son, Mr. Robert T. Richardson of Greensboro; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Modlin of Church Hill, Tenn.; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Catherine Neighbours of Hillsborough, and Mrs. Audrey Summerell and Mrs. Becky P. Parrish, both of Mebane; five stepsons, Mr. Tyson Patterson of Burlington, and Mr. Vance Patterson, Mr. Eddie Patterson, Mr. Milton Patterson and Mr. Tom Patterson, all of Mebane; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Brenda Richardson Davis.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oakwood cemetery by the Rev. James W. Christopher, pastor of People's Church.
The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane from 7 to 9 this evening.
Mrs. Mildred F. West
GRAHAM - Mrs. Mildred Faye Frick West, 61, of 734179 Olu-Olu Place, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, died Saturday evening, May 2, 1998, in Kailua-Kona, after an illness of several months, three days critical. She was a former resident of Graham.
A native of Graham, she was the daughter of Mr. B. Grady Frick and Mrs. Mildred Euliss Frick Jordan, both deceased. She was a graduate of Graham High School and attended nursing school in Danville, Va. She was a retired representative of an ostomy company of Los Angeles. She was a former member of Andrews Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Tina Marie Webb of the home; a son, Mr. Wesley Keith Brown of Norcross, Ga.; two brothers, Mr. Bill W. Frick of Burlington and Mr. Patrick Gordon Frick of North Hollywood, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Bobby Euliss Frick.
The funeral will be conducted Thursday afternoon in Halehalewai, Hawaii.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.

Mr. James C. Hatch
EFLAND - Mr. James Curtis Hatch, 59, of 3809 Buckhorn Road, died Sunday, May 3, 1998, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
A native of Orange County, he was the husband of Mrs. Linda Dodson Hatch, who survives, and the son of Mrs. Ina Simmons Hatch, who survives, and the late Mr. Herbert Lee Hatch. He worked for Melville Furniture for five years.
Survivors other than his wife of the home and mother of Efland include three daughters, Ms. Betty Haggerty of Mebane, Ms. Bobbie McCullock of Cedar Grove and Ms. Debbie Hatch of Efland; three sisters, Ms. Virgie Dodson of Efland, Ms. Edna Grizzle of Mebane and Ms. Margaret Walker of Burlington; five brothers, Mr. Aubrey Hatch and Mr. William Hatch, both of Yanceyville, Mr. Harvey Hatch of Haw River, and Mr. Robert Hatch and Mr. Hubert Hatch, both of Efland; and a grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Talmadge Hatch.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Chestnut Ridge United Methodist Church by the Rev. Al Trotter. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at Walker's Funeral Home in Mebane from 7 to 9 this evening.
Mrs. Minnie Wilson
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Minnie Bell Sharpe Wilson, 86, of 1567 Arrow Lane, died at 2 a.m. Monday, May 4, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several years of failing health, two weeks critical.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Lonnie Alfred Wilson and the daughter of Mr. Cyrus 'Dick' Sharpe and Mrs. Lessie Stevens, both deceased. She was retired from True Knit Mills and was a member of Vicker's Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Ms. Brenda Wilson Soots of Graham, and a grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Burlington by the Rev. Max W. Rich and the Rev. John F. Skenes Jr. Burial will be in Bellemont United Methodist Church cemetery.
The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Burlington from 7 to 9 Wednesday evening, and at other times at the home of the daughter, 723 Oakgrove Drive, Graham.
Mrs. Jewel Farlow Thomas
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Jewel Farlow Thomas, 87, of 1542 W. Davis St., died at 1:05 a.m. Sunday, May 10, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after an illness of one week.
A native of Randolph County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Charles Moore Thomas and the daughter of Mr. Elmer D. Farlow and Mrs. Hattie Snyder Farlow, both deceased. She was a retired employee of Kayser-Roth Corp. and was a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Fay T. Oakley and Ms. Barbara Driggers, both of Burlington; a son, Mr. Elmer David Thomas of Columbia, S.C.; a brother, Mr. Wade Farlow of Manteca, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington by the Rev. Phillips R. Myers, pastor of First Reformed United Church of Christ.
The family will be at the funeral home after the service, and at other times at the home of Mrs. Fay T. Oakley, 3510 Longview St., Burlington.

Mr. James H. Jackson
BROWNS SUMMIT - Mr. James H. Jackson, 81, of 5724 Summit Ave., died Saturday, May 9, 1998, at Guilford Health Care Center.
He was the husband of the late Mrs. Elaine Church Jackson and the son of Mr. Henry Jackson and Mrs. Callie Jackson, both deceased. He had worked for Southern Webbing Mills and was retired from P. Lorillard. He attended Calvary Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Mike (Carolyn J.) Frye, Mrs. Bobby (Kay J.) Matherly and Mrs. Barry (Janice J.) Jackson, all of Gibsonville; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ms. Pearl Jenkins and Ms. Lois J. Winkle; and a brother, Mr. Dewey 'Stonewall' Jackson.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home North Elm Chapel. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park.
The family will be at the home of Mrs. Janice Jackson and Mr. Barry Jackson, 812 Johnson St., Gibsonville.

Mr. Joseph P. Marley
BURLINGTON - Mr. Joseph P. Marley, 89, of Twin Lake Center, died Saturday evening, May 9, 1998.
Born Jan. 25, 1909, in Greensboro, he was the husband of Mrs. Nancy H. Marley, who survives, and the son of Mr. Henry C. Marley and Mrs. Kathryn P. Marley, both deceased. He had lived in Southern Pines for 38 years before moving to Twin Lakes Center. He was retired from a civilian personnel career at Ft. Bragg. He was an active member of Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church in Southern Pines as an elder.
Survivors other than his wife of Twin Lakes Center include two sons, Mr. Joseph P. Marley Jr. of Cary and Mr. William H. Marley of Charlotte; a sister, Ms. Margaret Idol of High Point; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Twin Lakes Center.
The Cremation Society of the Carolinas is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. John H. Gibson
BURLINGTON - Mr. John Howard Gibson, 81, of 307 Chapel Hill Road, died at 1:47 p.m. Monday, May 11, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a critical illness of one week.
A native of Stokes County, he was the husband of Mrs. Virginia T. Gibson, who survives, amd Mrs. Gladys Davis Gibson, who died in 1982. He was the son of Mr. John Wesley Gibson and Mrs. Agnes Victoria Smith Gibson, both deceased. He grew up in High Point. He was the retired general manager of Collins and Aikman Corp., Graham. He was a member of the Burlington Lions Club and served as past president, was past Lion of the Year, was a Melvin Jones Fellow and had 41 years of perfect attendance. He was active in the United Way and the YMCA. He was a member of Hocutt Memorial Baptist Church, where he served as former deacon chairman, Sunday school superintendent, training union director, Sunday school teacher and was recently named Honorary Deacon for Life.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include two daughters, Mrs. Brenda G. Finger of Raleigh and Mrs. Nancy G. Seberger of Cary; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Rowan of Baltimore, Ms. Avis Gibson of High Point, Mrs. Lucy Varker of Chesapeake, Va., and Mrs. Ella Hayworth of Burlington; three brothers, Mr. Steve Gibson of Greensboro, Mr. James R. Gibson of Hickory and Mr. Donald Gibson of Asheboro; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the retired Rev. Ben W. Cox, former pastor of Hocutt Memorial Baptist Church. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Burlington Lions Club.

Mrs. Twila S. Leming
ESCALANTE, Utah - Mrs. Twila Schow Porter 'Pat' Leming, 83, of Escalante died Saturday, May 9, 1998, at her home.
Born March 14, 1915, in Escalante, she was the wife of Mr. Guy Ammon Leming, who died Dec. 27, 1995, and the daughter of Mr. Andrew H. Schow and Mrs. Susannah Spencer Schow.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Gaytha) Loeffler of Washington and Mrs. Kirt (Carla) Bryant of Burlington; two sons, Mr. Sherril Porter and Mr. Lynn Porter, both of Escalante; three brothers, Mr. Marlo Schow, Mr. Warren Schow and Mr. Calvin Schow, all of Salt Lake City; two sisters, Ms. Myrle Davenport of Salt Lake City and Ms. Maxine Alvey of Aurora, Utah; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. Dick Schow and Mr. Ronald Schow; and four sisters, Ms. Leda Emery, Ms. Oma Jamison, Ms. Zella Alvey and Ms. Iris Porter.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Escalante Second Latter Day Saints Ward Chapel. Burial will be in Escalante Cemetery.
The family will be at the ward chapel from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

Mrs. Dorothy Owens
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Dorothy Gray Hubbard Owens, 66, of 168 Graves St., died at 12:05 a.m. Monday, May 11, 1998, at Alamance Health Care after a long illness.
A native of Caswell County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Paul Andrew Owens, and the daughter of Mr. Charlie Lee Hubbard and Mrs. Ada W. Hubbard, both deceased. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include fours sons, Mr. Randy Lee Owens and Mr. Kenneth Dale Owens, both of Danville, Va., Mr. Carl Andrew Owens of the home, and Mr. Bruce Willard Owens of Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Olivares of Charlotte and Mrs. June Lindsey of Richmond, Va.; a brother, Mr. Billy Hubbard of Virginia; and eight grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Alamance Memorial Park by the Rev. Lester Haney, pastor of Shamrock Evangelical Methodist Church.
