Mr. Wayne Patterson
SILER CITY - Mr. Wayne 'Pat' Patterson of 254 Mount Vernon Spring Road, died Saturday, June 20, 1998, at his home.
He was the husband of Mrs. Ellen Reives-Patterson, who survives. He was a member of Gees Grove AME Zion Church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include five daughters, Mrs. Sandra McCrimmon, Mrs. Barbara Patterson-Hatcher, Mrs. Belinda McKoy, Mrs. Tlynthia Jordan and Mrs. Amanda Patterson-Womble; two sons, Mr. Victor Rodgers and Mr. Morris Clem Patterson; a sister, Mrs. Nevada Jordan; two brothers, Mr. Cecil Patterson and Mr. Joe Patterson; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. today at Gees Grove AME Zion Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Kelvin N. Owen
ROXBORO - Mr. Kelvin Newton Owen, 24, of Raleigh, died Saturday, June 20, 1998, at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock, Texas, of injuries received in an automobile accident.
A native of Durham County, he was the son of Mr. Henry Owen and Mrs. Leona Clayton Owen, who both survive. He was a 1992 graduate of Person Senior High School and a 1997 graduate of Appalachian State University. He worked for Goff Group Insurance Company in Raleigh as an underwriting assistant. He attended Lea's Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors other than his parents of Roxboro include a brother, Mr. Clifton Owen of Roxboro; a sister, Ms. Laura Turberville of Durham; and maternal grandparents, Mr. William Clayton and Mrs. Ada Clayton of Roxboro.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. Clayton Owen and Mrs. Gladys Owen.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lea's Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Burchwood Cemetery.
The family will be at Brooks and White Funeral Home in Roxboro from 7 to 8:30 this evening.

Mrs. Margaret Blevins
HIGH POINT - Mrs. Margaret Kelly Blevins, 56, of 2920-A Archdale Road, died at 6 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, 1998, at her home.
Born Jan. 27, 1942, in Guilford County, she was the daughter of Mr. W.R. Kelly and Mrs. Elizabeth Mallard Kelly, both deceased. She had lived in High Point for the past 40 years. She was employed with Fairfield Enrichment Center and was a member of Reavis Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Mr. Walter David Blevins of Glade Valley; two sisters, Mrs. Mickey (Linda) Carter of Archdale and Mrs. Charlie (Carol) Hill of Sophia; three brothers, Mr. William Richard Kelly III of Elon College, Mr. Thomas Allen Kelly of Laurinburg and Mr. Michael Fant Kelly of High Point; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Reavis Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. Brian E. Biggers, the Rev. Darryl R. Love and the Rev. Richard Shoemaker. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
The family will be at Cumby Mortuary in Archdale from 7 to 8:30 this evening, and at other times at the home.

Mrs. Lucille Kennedy
BALTIMORE - Mrs. Lucille Nelson Kennedy, 83, died Monday, June 22, 1998, at Stella Maris, a hospice facility in Maryland.
Born Sept. 7, 1914, in Minneapolis, she was the wife for more than 50 years to Mr. Clifford F. Kennedy, who died in 1994. She was the daughter of Mr. Axel Nelson and Mrs. Maria Nelson, both deceased. She and her family moved to a homestead at Blackwater, N.D., in 1917. For the past year, she had lived in Burlington with her daughter, Ms. Betty Kee. She had formerly lived in Phoenix; Garrison, N.D.; Simi Valley, Calif.; and Newbury Park, Calif. In 1932, she graduated from high school in Garrison. She attended nurse's training at Anker Hospital in St. Paul, Minn., and graduated as a registered nurse in 1937. She worked as an R.N. in California. She and her hsuband built a retirement home on the North Dakota homestead. She was active in church and Sunday school work in various Baptist churches in California, North Dakota and Arizona. She was a member of Echo Mountain Baptist Church in North Phoenix.
Survivors include three daughters, Ms. Betty Kee of Burlington, Ms. Mary Ruth Bisset of Lutherville, Md., Ms. Barbara Caballero Kennedy of Chapel Hill; a son, Mr. Paul Kennedy of Mesa, Ariz.; a brother, Mr. Neal Nelson of Kirkland, Wash.; and 12 grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted Tuesday, June 30, 1998, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Garrison. Burial will be in Garrison Cemetery.

Mrs. Lorraine Morrison
MIAMI - Mrs. Lorraine Morrison, 76, of 12961 S.W. 117th St., died Friday morning, June 19, 1998, at Camelot Care Center in Miami.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Billy Troy Morrison, and the daughter of Mr. T.J. Bassett and Mrs. Clara Paradise Bassett, both deceased. She was a textile employee for various hosiery mills.
Survivors include a son, Mr. Craig Morrison of Burlington.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Alamance Memorial Park by Dr. W.W. Snyder.

Mrs. Hilda O. Key
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Hilda Oliver Key, 84, of 1708 Glenn St., died at 2:25 p.m. Sunday, June 21, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after an illness.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Albert Key, and the daughter of Mr. James Monroe Oliver and Mrs. Mary Thompson Oliver, both deceased. She was a retired employee of Alamance County Hospital and was a graduate of Alamance County Training School. She was a member of Queen's Chapel AME Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Vonzella Key Long of Burlington; two sons, Mr. Samuel Key of Hagerstown, Md., and Mr. Haldore Key of Connecticut; two brothers, Mr. Joseph Oliver of Burlington and the Rev. Theodore Oliver of Mount Vernon, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Friday at Queen's Chapel AME Church by the Rev. W.H. Morrison, pastor. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will be at Hargett and Bryant Funeral Home from 7 to 8 Thursday evening, and at other times at the home.
Ms. Peola D. Howard
PITTSBORO - Ms. Peola Dora Howard, 74, of 417 Oakwood Drive, died Sunday, June 21, 1998.
A native of Person County, she retired from J.M. Odell Manufacturing Company after 31 years of service. She was a member of Bynum United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Ms. Leitha Glosson of Pittsboro; two sons, Mr. Jackie Howard of Mebane and Mr. Gary Howard of Bear Creek; four sisters, Ms. Katie Scott and Ms. Cleon Scarlett, both of Hillsborough and Ms. Loraine Parker and Ms. Mary Scarlett, both of Mebane; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bynum United Methodist Church by the Rev. David Hutchins. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at Griffin Funeral Service in Pittsboro from 7 to 9 this evening.

Ms. Audrey F. Fisher
REIDSVILLE - Ms. Audrey Flynn Fisher died Sunday, June 21, 1998, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro after a short illness. She was a resident of The Evergreens in Greensboro and a former resident of 921 Watson St., Reidsville, and Highgrove Care Center.
A native of Lake Lure in Rutherford County, she was the daughter of Mr. T. Edgar Flynn and Mrs. Lela Flynn, both deceased. She retired from the American Tobacco Co. in Reidsville in the `70s. She had worked in Lake Lure and Statesville before moving to Reidsville. She was a member of Reidsville Alliance Church.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Ms. JoAnne F. Hendrick of Bessemer City.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens.
The family will be at the funeral home one hour before the service.
Mr. Levi M. Miles
BURLINGTON - Mr. Levi Massey Miles, 87, of 119 James Drive, died at 5:05 a.m. Sunday, June 21, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after an illness of one year.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Glossie Bratcher Miles, who survives, and the son of Mr. Ed Miles and Mrs. Luvenia Wilson Miles, both deceased. He was a member of New Samaritan Church in Washington, D.C.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include two sons, Mr. Willie Miles of Washington, D.C., and Mr. Charles Leon Miles of New York; two sisters, Mrs. Lessie Mae Graves and Mrs. Cassie Dean Enoch, both of Burlington; a brother, Mr. Robert Miles of Burlington; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Mr. Bernard Miles and Mr. Eddie Lee Miles, both deceased.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Martin's Chapel Baptist Church by the Rev. Henry Simmons, pastor, and the Rev. Ronald Brooks. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at the church 30 minutes before the service.
