Mr. Michael P. Bulger
BURLINGTON - Mr. Michael Patrick Bulger of 1212 Queen Ann St., died at 2:50 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 1998, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill after a critical illness of one week.
A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of Mr. Michael James Bulger and Mrs. Catherine Foley Bulger, both deceased. He was a security officer for Darwood Management Inc. in New York City. He was a member of Burlington Moose Lodge and the National Rifle Association. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth M. Quigley of Pearl River, N.Y., and Mrs. Catherine M. Bonk of Stoney Creek; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington by the Rev. Carlton Wilson.

Mr. Philip B. Anthony
HAW RIVER - Mr. Philip Bares Anthony, 76, of 117 Circle Drive, died at 4:55 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, 1998, at the Hospice Home after an illness of five months.
A native of Rowan County, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Martha Brown Anthony, and the son of Mr. Jesse Filmore Anthony and Mrs. Avie Schronce Anthony, both deceased. He was retired from Cone Mills and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the American Legion and the Hillsborough Moose Lodge. He was a member of Haw River United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Mr. Phillip James "Jimmy" Anthony of the home, and Mr. John S. "Steve" Anthony and Mr. Bobby Lynn Anthony, both of Haw River; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Houk of Lincolnton and Mrs. Rosa Ross and Mrs. Bobbie Jean Lambert, both of China Grove; a brother, Mr. Marshall E. Anthony of China Grove; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Russell Anthony.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Haw River United Methodist Church by Dr. Roderic Mullen, pastor, and the Rev. James Rosser, pastor of Haw River Christian Church. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.

Mrs. Irma R. Holman
DURHAM - Mrs. Irma Dean Richardson Holman, 56, of 1202 Berkeley Street, died Sunday, June 7, 1998, at her home.
A native of Durham, she was the daughter of Ms. Essie Richardson, who survives, and the late Mr. Herman Jones. She was educated in the Durham City Schools and worked as a nurse's assistant at several rest homes.
Survivors other than her mother of Durham include four daughters, Ms. Gwendolyn Patrice Holman, Ms. Yvette Richardson and Ms. Jacqueline Holman, all of Durham, and Ms. Willette Michelle Wiley of Burlington; a sister, Ms. Patricia Ann Richardson of Burlington; a brother, Mr. Vertas Carlyle Richardson of Selma; and eight grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fisher Funeral Chapel in Durham by the Rev. Robert Daniels. Burial will be in Glennview Memorial Park.
Mr. William Wescott
WHITSETT - Mr. William H. "Bill" Wescott, 65, of 1337 Village Road, Lot 154, died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, 1998, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro.
A native of Portland, Maine, he was the husband of Mrs. Nancy Wescott, who survives, and the son of Mr. Gerald Wescott and Ms. June Clough Tobey, both deceased. He was retired and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Whitsett Volunteer Fire Department. He was a former member of the Martinsville, Va., Moose Lodge and the Pythians.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include two daughters, Ms. Pam Wescott of Raleigh and Mrs. Diana Collins of Elon College; two sons, Mr. Keith Wescott of Martinsville and Mr. Mark Wescott of Greensboro; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Sandra Brown of Greensboro; two stepsons, Mr. Bobby Goins of Whitsett and Mr. Sam Goins of McLeansville; two brothers, Mr. Robert Wescott of Windsor, Maine, and Mr. Pete Wescott of Aurora, Colo.; five grandchildren; and five step grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Alamance Memorial Park by Dr. Keith Uffman, pastor of Alamance Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Roland Linnens Jr.
BENNETT - Mr. Roland Irist Linnens Jr., 81, of 75 Bonlee St., died Tuesday, June 9, 1998, at Chatham Hospital in Siler City.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Berta Mae Gardner Linnens, who survives. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of World War II. He retired as a weaving general overseer for Klopman Mills after more than 50 years of service. He was a member of Asheboro Lodge No. 699 AF&AM. He was a member of Bennett Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, Sunday school teacher and choir member.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a brother, Mr. Ray Linnens of Burlington.
The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Bennett Baptist Church by the Rev. Tim Strider and the Rev. Robert Webb. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Robert H. Holland
MEBANE - Mr. Robert Hulon Holland, 65, of 6406 U.S. 70, died at 2:43 a.m. Monday, June 8, 1998, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill after an illness of eight months.
A native of Caswell County, he was the husband of Mrs. Marie Sykes Holland, who survives, and the son of Mrs. Irma Harris Cantrell, who survives, and the late Mr. Joe Holland. He was a retired employee of AT&T and was employed with Hawkins Realty and Associates Inc. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a Baptist.
Survivors other than his wife of the home and mother of Graham include two sons, Mr. Bobby R. Holland of Charlotte and Mr. Todd Holland of Graham; two stepsons, Mr. Eddie Green of Mebane and Mr. Marty Green of Graham; and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Mebane by the Rev. Douglas Ludlam, pastor. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mr. Bertram A. West
GRAHAM - Mr. Bertram Adrian "Bert" West, 79, of Box 51, Swepsonville, died Sunday, June 7, 1998, at Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Alamance after two years of failing health, four weeks critical.
A native of Stanley County, he was the husband of Mrs. Leona "Esther" Keene West, who survives, and the son of Mr. Roy B. West and Mrs. Addie Lowder West, both deceased. He was retired from Copland Fabrics and was a Baptist.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include two stepdaughters, Mrs. Betty Crigger of Mavisvale, Va., and Mrs. Loretta "Jean" Cleghorn of Jasper, Ga.; a stepson, Mr. Robert "Bob" Keene of Graham; a sister, Mrs. Raymond (Ruth) Webb of Burlington; seven step grandchildren; and several great-step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Ms. Phyllis R. Johnson; and three brothers, Mr. John West, Mr. Joe West and Mr. Lamar West.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Howard Thompson, pastor of Burlington Assembly of God. Burial will be in Hawfields Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Mr. Norman Perkins
BURLINGTON - Mr. Norman Samuel Perkins, 73, of 2157 S. Gurney St., died at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after one year of failing health, 15 days critical.
A native of Durham, he was the husband of Mrs. Clara Beal Perkins, who survives, and the son of the Rev. Norman Nesbitt Perkins and Mrs. Emily Dodd Perkins, both deceased. He retired after 37 years of service with Kroger Grocery Stores in Greensboro and was the Union Representative for employees. He attended Elon College and was a member of the Alamance Seniors Golf Association. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and took a part in the Normandy Invasion. He was a member of Webb Avenue United Methodist Church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include four sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Willis, Mrs. Esther Capes, Mrs. Martha Jackson and Mrs. Mary Daly, all of Burlington.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Mozelle Dawson
McLEANSVILLE - Mrs. Mozelle Thomas Dawson, 89, of 5824 Carmon Road, died Sunday, June 7, 1998, at Moses Cone Extended Care Center.
Born Oct. 26, 1908, in Guilford County, she was the wife of the late Mr. James Dawson, and the daughter of Mr. John Thomas and Mrs. Bertha May Thomas, both deceased. She was a life member of Bethel Presbyterian Church and was a homemaker.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. James (Fannie) Clark of Burlington, Mrs. Luther (Bertha) Brame and Mrs. Larry (Frances) Batten, both of Greensboro, Ms. Louise Newell of McLeansville and Mrs. Phillip (Mary) Stokes of Gibsonville; six sons, Mr. Herman Dawson of Mechanicsville, Va., Mr. Roy Dawson of Whitsett, Mr. Staley Dawson and Mr. Howard Dawson, both of Gibsonville, and Mr. John Dawson and Mr. Raymond Dawson, both of McLeansville, 27 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Bethel Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Otis Davis, the Rev. Lucius Gray and the Rev. Ralph Webb. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
