Mr. Raymond E. Stone
REIDSVILLE - Mr. Raymond Edward Stone, 65, a resident of Jefferson Family Care Home in Caswell County, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 1998, at Annie Penn Memorial Hospital.
A native of Guilford County, he was the son of Mr. Arthur Lee Stone and Mrs. Allonie Knighten Stone, both deceased. He had lived in Rockingham County most of his life, and was former owner and operator of Stone’s Grocery. He was of the Primitive Baptist faith.
Survivors include one son, Mr. Ronald Anderson Stone of Reidsville; two daughters, Ms. Eunice S. Lutfi of Graham and Ms. Ramona JoAnn Stone of Gibsonville; two brothers, Mr. William E. “Bill’’ Stone and Mr. Tommy C. Stone, both of Reidsville; four sisters, Ms. Ruby S. Griffin, Ms. Louise S. Billingsley, Mrs. Shirley S. Moore and Ms. Lonnie Mae S. Coe, all of Reidsville; and one grandchild.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Wolf Island Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will be at Citty Funeral Home from 7 to 9 thisevening, and at other times at the home of a daughter, Ms. JoAnn Stone, 295 Brown Road, Lot 1, Gibsonville, N.C., in Caswell County.
Mr. Jimmy G. Morris
BURLINGTON - Mr. Jimmy Gray Morris, 57, of 116 Chestnut St., died at 4:15 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998, at his home after a short illness.
A native of Johnson County, he was the husband of Mrs. Bonnie Oakley Morris, and the son of Mr. Elmer Alonza Morris and Mrs. Victoria Lamb Morris, both deceased. He was an employee of textile manufacturing and was a Baptist.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Mrs. Rhonda Morris Wagoner of Burlington; two sons, Mr. Ricky Morris of the home and Mr. Wayne Morris of Burlington; six sisters, Mrs. Ruby Smith, Mrs. Octavia Driver and Mrs. Mary Overman Kimrey, all of Burlington, Mrs. Juanita Whitt of Elon College, Mrs. Connie Edwards of Greensboro and Mrs. Jean Faye Thompson of Four Oaks; five brothers, Mr. Layton Morris of Graham, Mr. E.D. Morris of Kimesville, Mr. Leon Morris and Mr. Linwood Morris, both of Princeton, and Mr. Milford Morris of Burlington; and a grandchild.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Mr. Hubert Morris, Mr. Vester Morris and Mr. Jesse Morris.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington by the Rev. Phil Hardy. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 7 to 9 this evening, and at other times at the home of the daughter, 115 Chestnut St., Burlington.
Mrs. Molee A. Harmon
GRAHAM - Mrs. Molee Andrews Harmon, 71, of 700 Weaver Way, died at 1:35 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7, 1998, at her home after nine months of failing health, three weeks critical.
A native of Bynum, she was the wife of Mr. James G. Harmon, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. Clarence Lambert Andrews and Mrs. Mary Ella Brown Andrews, both deceased. She was a retired accountant with Western Electric. She was a member and former treasurer of the Alamance Regional Medial Center Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Graham.
Survivors other than her husband of the home include a daughter, Ms. Donna L. Harmon of Charlotte; two sons, Mr. Rick Harmon of Graham and Mr. Tim Harmon of Burlington; two stepdaughters, Ms. Deborah Weatherholt of Orlando, Fla., and Mrs. Cynthia Oliver of Luguna Beach, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Wilma Baker of Burlington; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Graham by Dr. Paul A. Lane, pastor, and Dr. Ralph E. Jones Jr., pastor emeritus. Entombment will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 7 to 9 this evening, and at other times at the home.

Mrs. Linda T. Bunting
ELON COLLEGE - Mrs. Linda Kay Thompson Bunting, 44, of 3080 Leath Road, died Monday, Sept.7, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of Mrs. Carrie Ray Thompson who survives, and the late Mr. Isaac Thompson. She was a graduate of Bennett College in Greensboro, and a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors other than her mother of Elon College include a daughter, Miss Lyntonya Bunting of the home; four sisters, Mrs. Doris Lynn of Gibsonville, Mrs. Mary Frances Lynn and Miss Irene Thompson both of Reidsville and Mrs. Shirley Ford of Macon, Ga.; two brothers, Mr. Raymond Thompson of Browns Summit and Mr. Isaac Thompson Jr. of Altamahaw.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Hargett and Bryant Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Herman Long. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Verna S. Holt
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Verna Sharpe Holt, 86, of 4519 N.C. 62 South, died at 11:24 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Robert H. Douthart
BURLINGTON - Mr. Robert H. Douthart, 60, of Hawfields Presbyterian Home in Mebane, died at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7, 1998, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill after one year of failing health. He was a former resident of Trails End Apartments, Burlington.
A native of Chicago, he was the son of Mr. Richard Douthart and Mrs. Anne Bauer Douthart, both deceased. He was an electrical engineer and was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Ms. Karen Horner of Mebane, Mrs. Jennifer Bean of Jordan, Utah and Mrs. Kathie Kupsick of Albermarle; two sons, Mr. Charles Douthart of Garner and Mr. Nathan Douthart of Yanceyville; a sister, Mrs. Kay Davis of Pound Ridge, N.Y.; a brother, Dr. Richard Douthart of Richland, Wash.; and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Rev. Terrence Pescatore, O.F.M. Conv. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.

Mr. Patrick R. Evans
SNOW CAMP - Mr. Patrick Ray Evans, 22, of 7134 Lindley Mill Road, died Sunday, Sept. 6, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness.
A native of Orange County, he was the son of Mr. Ernest Alston and Mrs. Linda Glover, and the stepson of Mr. James Glover. He was employed by Burger King in Mebane.
Survivors other than his father of Hillsborough and mother and stepfather of the home include a daughter, Miss Tamara Russell of Burlington; a son, Mr. Patrick Ray Evans Jr. of Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. Wanda K. Fowler of Glen Raven and Miss Mercedes Evans of the home; a brother, Mr. Elliott Stroman of the home; and maternal grandfather, Mr. Herman Evans of Burlington.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church by the Rev. T.E. Taylor, pastor. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. G. Gano Neese
GRAHAM - Mr. G. Gano Neese, 81, of 3203 Rogers Road, died at 7:05 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7, 1998, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill after a critical illness of five days.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Carlean Bowman Neese, and the son of Mr. Charlie Milton Neese and Mrs. Daisy Sharpe Neese, both deceased. He was retired from Kayser-Roth Hosiery and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church and the Men’s Bible Class.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a son, Mr. James Milton Neese of Burlington; a sister, Miss Mafalda Neese of Graham; a brother, Mr. Stanley Neese of Raleigh; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church by the Rev. Rick Moser, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Robert Simpson Sr.
GIBSONVILLE - Mr. Robert Henry Simpson Sr., 83, of 1985 Wheeler Bridge Road, Burlington, died Monday, Sept. 7, 1998, at Sunshine Care and Rehabilitation in Siler City.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Eunice Fogleman Simpson, who survives, and the son of Mr. Frederick James Simpson and Mrs. Katherine Winn Simpson, both deceased. He was an electrician and farmer. He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include two daughters, Mrs. Judy S. Sizemore of Liberty and Mrs. Carolyn S. Brown of Gibsonville; two sons, Mr. Robert Henry Simpson Jr. of Burlington and Mr. Walter Vance Simpson of the home; a sister, Mrs. Tula Reavis of Burlington; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Mr. Ronnie Simpson and Mr. James Simpson; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at Friedens Lutheran Church by the Rev. Richard a. Rhoades, pastor. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.

MEBANE - Ms. Mary Melton McAlpine, 56, of 1938 Stone St. Ext., died at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998, at Skilled Nursing Division of Alamance Regional Medical Center after several years of failing health.
A native of Bennettsville, S.C., she was the daughter of Mr. Lee Melton and Ms. Greola Ard Lankford, both deceased. She was a homemaker and was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Linda Allred of the home and Mrs. Wanda Cole of Burlington; and a brother, Mr. Don Melton of Burlington.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Pine Hill cemetery by the Rev. Wayne Miller, pastor of Mebane Church of God.
The family will be at the home.

Mr. Allen Wood Jr.
BURLINGTON - Mr. Allen Wood Jr., 67, of 365 Vinson Road, died at 3:25 a.m. Monday, Sept. 7, 1998, at Avante of Lynchburg, Va., after 13 months of failing health, three days critical.
A native of Sampson County, he was the son of Mr. Allen Wood Sr. of Mrs. Bessie Hughes Wood, both deceased. He was a self-employed machinist and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Daisy Wood Arietta of Burlington and Mrs. Vicky Thompson Cottingham of Atlanta, Ga.; four sisters, Mrs. Laura Moore of San Jose, Calif., Mrs. Edna Joyce Bailey of Winston-Salem; Mrs. Hilda Castlebury of Harrisburg, and Mrs. Louise Parks of Union Hill; a brother, Mr. Ralph Wood of Burlington; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Ms. Kimberly Wood and Ms. Cynthia Wood; four brothers, Mr. Dan Wood, Mr. Bobby Wood, Mr. Elbert Wood and Mr. Edward Wood; and a grandchild.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Pine Hill Cemetery, Legion Section by the Rev. Daniel Smith.
