Mr. Charlie L. Jerrell
BURLINGTON - Mr. Charlie Linville Jerrell, 80, of 3241 Pond Road, died at 4:20 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Fleecie Little Jerrell, who survives, and the son of Mr. John Linville Jerrell and Mrs. Carrie Lee Evans Jerrell, both deceased. He was retired from Baker-Cammack Hosiery and was a charter member of Alamance Lutheran Church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Barbara) Huffines of Burlington; a brother, Mr. Robert Jerrell of Burlington; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Lucille Starling.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Chapel of Alamance Lutheran Church by the Rev. James D. Lockley, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at the parlor of Alamance Lutheran Church from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the home.

Mr. Z. Vance Ingle
WHITSETT - Mr. Z. Vance Ingle, 87, a former resident of N.C. 100 in Whitsett, died at 6 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 1998, at Cone Extended Care in Greensboro.
A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Delcie Laws Ingle, and the son of Mr. Daniel Mebane Ingle and Mrs. Ella Frances Shepherd Ingle, both deceased. He was retired from May Hosiery and Kayser Roth Corp after 60 years. He was a member of Springwood Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include three sons, Mr. Jesse Carson Ingle, Mr. James Ronald Ingle and Mr. Howard Vance Incle, all of Whitsett; and a sister, Mrs. Frances Anderson of McLeansville.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Moser, Mrs. Lucille Isley, Mrs. Kathleen Shepherd and Mrs. Ethel Holt; five brothers, Mr. C.B. Ingle, Mr. Lee Ingle, Mr. Jake Ingle, Mr. Woodrow Ingle and Mr. D.M. Ingle Jr.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Springwood Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Jonathan Freeman, pastor. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will be at the Lowe Funeral Home from 7 to 9 this evening, and at other times at the home of Howard Ingle, Rockledge Road, Whitsett.
Mrs. Lillian F. Clark
HAW RIVER - Mrs. Lillian Foster Clark, 84, of 531 Boundry St., died at 11:20 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after one and one-half years of failing health, one week critical.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Murphy Haskins Clark, and the daughter of Mr. Edward Foster and Mrs. Annie Way Foster, both deceased. She was a retired textile worker and a member of First Baptist Church of Haw River.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Barbara Ann Boggs of Haw River and Mrs. Letha Annette Bridges of Mebane; five sons, Mr. Larry Haskins Clark of Liberty, Mr. Daniel Francis Clark Sr. and Mr. Darryl Holmes Clark, both of Graham, Mr. Charles Benjamin Clark of Richmond, Va. and Mr. Randall Ray Clark of Haw River; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ms. Jean Carole Durham.
The funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham by the Rev. Larry Thompson. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.

Mr. Harold D. Allison
GRAHAM - Mr. Harold Dean Allison, 54, of 1557 S. Main St., died at 8:38 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1998, at his home after nine months of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Nancy Caldwell Allison, who survives, and the son of Mr. Marion Watson Allison and Mrs. Mozelle Pegram Allison, both deceased. He was employed by Triad Masonry and was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Miss Kerry “Buffy” Allison of Graham; a son, Mr. Joseph D. “Jody” Allison of Graham; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Taylor of Burlington and Miss Barbara Allison of Graham; a foster son, Mr. Dylan Starr of Graham; two brothers, Mr. Vernon Allison of Mebane and Mr. Floyd Allison of Whitsett; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. Gene Allison and Mr. Willard Allison.
The funeral was concucted Friday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham by the Rev. Jim Hall. Burial was in Graham Memorial Park.
Mr. Roy D. Langston
MOCKSVILLE - Mr. Roy D. Langston, 97, of U.S. 601 North, died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1998, from injuries received in a tractor accident.
Born March 5, 1901, in the Cana Community of Davis County, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Gertrude Simler Langston, the late Mrs. Violet Danner Langston and the late Ms. Fosa Essie Langston. He was the son of Mr. Mack C. Langston and Mrs. Maggie Clodfelter Langston, both deceased. In the early 1920s, he was employed with the Allied Signal Co. in Pittsburgh. For more than 50 years he was a wholesale candy jobber and distributor and was also a farmer. He was a member of Woodmen of the World. He was a member of Eatons Baptist Church were he was a former church treasurer.
Survivors include three daughters, Ms. Delores Goldman of Baltimore, Ms. Vivian Parker of Burlington and Ms. Janet Langston of Washington, D.C.; two sons, Mr. Robert Langston of Mocksville and Mr. Dwight Langston of Greensboro; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Bruce Langston; and two brothers, Mr. Macy Langston and Mr. Phillip Langston.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Eatons Baptist Church by Dr. David Gilbreath. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at the home of Mr. Robert Langston, U.S. 601 North, Mocksville.

Mrs. Lessie R. Miller
MEBANE - Mrs. Lessie Arleen Ray Miller, 89, of 5505 U.S. 70, died at 12:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 1998, at her home after an illness of one month.
A native of Orange County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Dan W. Miller, and the daughter of Mrs. Milton Albert Ray and Mrs. Sally Shambley Ray, both deceased. She was retired from Customex, Burlington, and was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church in Hillsborough.
Survivors include a son, Mr. John A. Miller of Mebane; three sisters, Mrs. Mable Lynch of Mebane, Mrs. Emma Lemmons of Hillsborough and Mrs. Elizabeth Shambley of Burlington; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Ruby Miller Roberts; three sisters and two brothers.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cross Roads Baptist Church by the Rev. Phil Moore. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery in Mebane.

Mr. James W. Oldham
MEBANE - Mr. James Wallace Oldham, 77, of 308 Tate Ave., died at 11:34 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1998, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Durham.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Minister Norean Oldham who survives, and the son of Mr. Hall Oldham and Mrs. Alice Oldham Glenn, both deceased. He was a custodian and a concrete finisher. He was a member of Glenn Grove United Holy Church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include nine sons, the Rev. Steven Oldham of Snow Camp, Mr. Anthony Oldham of New York, Mr. Leroy Smith, Elder Tyrone Oldham, Mr. Fredrick Jennings, Mr. Michael Wayne Jennings and Mr. Lamont Jennings, all of Mebane, Mr. Bruce Oldham of Burlington and Mr. Ronald Oldham of Lafayette, Ind.; two daughters, Ms. Audrey Oldham Darring of Goldsboro and Ms. Barbara Jennings of Mebane; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Aubrey Oldham.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Glenn Grove United Holy Church by Elder Edward Clark, pastor. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Burial will be in St. Luke’s Community cemetery on Lebanon Road in Efland.

Mr. Clarence M. Mullins
BURLINGTON - Mr. Clarence Mitchell Mullins, 71, of 1711 Whitsett St., died at 4:15 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 1998, in Graham after two and one-half years of failing health, several weeks critical.
A native of Harnett County, he was the son of Mr. Clarence M. Mullins and Mrs. Blanche Gurkins Mullins, both deceased. He was a self-employed Kirby distributor and a member of the Burlington Assembly of God.
Survivors include one son, Mr. Michael Dennis Mullins of Sanford; two sisters, Mrs. James (Dorothy) Duncan and Mrs. Gilda M. Barham, both of Burlington; one brother, Mr. James Rudolph Mullins of Burlington; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at McClure Funeral Home in Graham by the Rev. Howard Thompson, pastor of Burlington Assembly of God. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Ruth C. Simpson
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Ruth Carter Simpson, 84, of 1625 Littlejohn Lane East, died at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several years of failing health, two weeks critical. She was a former resident of Front Street.
A native of Rockingham County, she was the wife of Mr. John Harvey Simpson who died in 1966, and the daughter of Mr. Walter Dameron Carter and Mrs. Savannah Toller Carter, both deceased. She was a homemaker, a former housemother with Elon College and Greensboro College, and was formerly employed by Carolina Biological Supply Co. She was a member of the Pilot Club and the Rockingham County Home Demonstration Club. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Burlington.
Survivors include one son, Mr. Walter Harvey Simpson of La Junta, Colo.; one daughter, Mrs. John (Dianne) Gerlach of the home; one sister, Mrs. Lillian Carter Powell of Burlington; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Greenview cemetery in Reidsville by the Rev. Philip Hughes, associate pastor of First Baptist Church of Burlington.
The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home from 5 to 7 Saturday evening, and at other times, at the home.

Mrs. Ann P. Thompson
HAW RIVER - Mrs. Ann Poe Thompson, 69, of 407 Thompson St., died Thursday, Sept. 3, 1998, at her home after a sudden illness.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Alfred Haywood Thompson Jr., and the daughter of Mrs. L.E. Culberson Poe Atkinson, who survives, and the late Mr. Thomas Jackson Poe. She was retired from Glen Raven Mills.
Survivors other than her mother of Burlington include a daughter, Mrs. Phil (Denise) Gammon of Mebane; a son, Mr. Alfred H. 'Woody' Thompson Jr. of Graham; a brother, Mr. Ralph Poe of Mebane; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Libby Warren.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Haw River Christian Church by the Rev. James L. Rosser, pastor, and the Rev. Richard Myers, associate pastor. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
