Mr. Harold D. Allison
GRAHAM - Mr. Harold Dean Allison, 44, of 1557 S. Main St., died at 8:38 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1998, at his home after nine months of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Nancy Caldwell Allison, who survives, and the son of Mr. Marion Watson Allison and Mrs. Mozelle Pegram Allison, both deceased. He was employed by Triad Masonry and was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Miss Kerry 'Buffy' Allison of Graham; a son, Mr. Joseph D. 'Jody' Allison of Graham; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Taylor of Burlington and Miss Barbara Allison of Graham; a foster son, Mr. Dylan Starr of Graham; two brothers, Mr. Vernon Allison of Mebane and Mr. Floyd Allison of Whitsett; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. Gene Allison and Mr. Willard Allison.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham by the Rev. Jim Hall. Burial will be in Graham Memorial Park.
The family will be at the home.

Mr. C. Cacy Johnson
GRAHAM - Mr. C. Cacy Johnson, 87, of 1553 Center Church Road, Pittsboro, died at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1998, at Sunrise Care and Rehab Center in Siler City after several years of failing health.
A native of Chatham County, he was the husband of Mrs. Pauline Lewis Johnson, who survives, and the son of Mr. Seymore Johnson and Mrs. Augusta Jones Johnson, both deceased. He was a retired owner and operator of Johnson Brothers Saw Mill. He was a member of Big Meadows Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Joanne) Self of Raleigh; a son, Mr. Claude L. Johnson of Maxton; two sisters, Mrs. George (Ruby) Fulk of Guilford College and Mrs. Vivian Scott of Siler City; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Junie Johnson.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham by Elder Kenneth Key, pastor of Big Meadows Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will be in Big Meadows Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Graham following the service.

Mr. Bruce D. Cates
GRAHAM - Mr. Bruce Darrell Cates, 86, of 222 S. Maple St., died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1998, at Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Alamance after one year of failing health.
A native of Durham County, he was the husband of Mrs. Maie Hancock Cates, who survives, and the son of Mr. Wilson Cates and Mrs. Lucy Cates, both deceased. He was a retired truck driver for Huffman Oil Co. and was a member of Andrews Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a half brother, Mr. Lee Cates of Durham.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rich and Thompson Chapel in Graham by Dr. Tommy Willis, pastor of Andrews Memorial Baptist Church and the Rev. Glenn Hancock. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.
The family will be at Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Graham from 7 to 9 this evening, and at other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to Andrews Memorial Baptist Church, 301 W. Elm St., Graham, N.C. 27253.

Mr. Kenneth E. Turner
GIBSONVILLE - Mr. Kenneth Earl Turner, 38, of 407 Gerringer St., died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1998, at the Hospice Home after an illness of three months.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Sharon Stone Turner, who survives, and the son of Mr. Obediah Turner Sr. and Mrs. Mary Ann Breeze Turner, who both survive. He was a member of Mack's Chapel Holiness Church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home and parents of Burlington include a foster son, Mr. Robert Redman of the home; three sisters, Mrs. Marion Watlington of Graham, Mrs. Juanita Fuller and Miss Edna Turner, both of Burlington; three brothers, Mr. Obediah Turner Jr. of Burlington, Mr. Ronnie Turner of Gibsonville and Mr. Reggie Turner of Greensboro; and maternal grandparents, Mr. George Breeze and Mrs. Juanita Garrison Breeze of Ossipee.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mack's Chapel Holiness Church by the Rev. Milton Rogers, pastor, the Rev. Weaver Davis, Dr. Richard W. Styles and Elder Peter Bell Jr. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service.
The family will be at Hargett and Bryant Funeral Home from 7 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the home of Mrs. Mary Ann Turner, 2468 W. Webb Ave., Burlington.

Ms. Thelma E. Page
ELON COLLEGE - Ms. Thelma Elizabeth Page, 87, of 2733 Old N.C. 87 North, died Wednesday evening, Sept. 2, 1998, at the Brian Center in Yanceyville.
A native of Caswell County, she was the daughter of Mr. Milton Page and Mrs. Nannie Page, both deceased. She was a homemaker and a caretaker for the elderly. She attended Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Ms. Sallie Page Foster of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. Claude Page and Mr. Henry Page.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will be at the funeral home one hour before the service.

Mrs. Elinta F. Thornton
MEBANE - Mrs. Edna Elinta Fowler Williams Thornton, 77, of 306 S. Fourth St., died at 5:17 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1998, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham after an illness of seven weeks.
A native of Horry County, S.C., she was the wife of the late Mr. George Alard Williams and the late Mr. Odie Thornton. She was the daughter of Mr. Guthrie W. Fowler and Mrs. Rincey Bullock Fowler, both deceased. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Mebane and the Eva Jeffries Sunday School class.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Blanche Causey of Thomasville, Mrs. Alice Rogers of Fork, S.C., Mrs. Mildred 'Millie' Hall and Mrs. Gayle Williams, both of Mebane, and Mrs. Polly Martin of Graham; four sons, Mr. Howard Williams, Mr. Austin Williams, Mr. Billy Williams and Mr. Mike Williams, all of Mebane; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Ruth Covington of Salisbury; a stepson, Mr. Earl Thornton of Mebane; two sisters, Mrs. Bernice Pulley of Mullins, S.C., and Mrs. Bonnie Kelly of Columbia, S.C.; a brother, Mr. Freeman Fowler of Fairmont; 25 grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Mebane by the Dr. Terry Farmer.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cox-Collins Funeral Home Chapel in Mullins. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery in Nichols, S.C.
The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane from 7 to 9 this evening, and at other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Youth Program, 301 S. Third St., Mebane, N.C. 27302.

Mrs. Stephanie G. Allen
BOWIE, Md. - Mrs. Stephanie Gibson Allen of Bowie, died Sunday, Aug. 30, 1998, at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Springs, Md., after a short illness.
She was the wife of Mr. James Richard Allen Sr., who survives, and the daughter of Mr. LaRue Gibson and Mrs. Savannah Graves Gibson, who both survive. She received a bachelor of science degree in mathematics from Boston College.
Survivors other than her husband and parents of Washington, D.C., include a daughter, Ashley Nicole Allen of the home; and a son, James Richard Allen Jr. of the home.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. Jimmy Graves and Mrs. Mary Lillian Graves, who were residents of Burlington.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bright Light Baptist Church in Brentwood, Md., by Dr. Isaac Alston. Burial will be in Fort Lincoln Cemetery.
The body may be viewed at Marshall Funeral Home from 9:30 to 10:30 Saturday morning, with a memorial service following at 10:30 a.m.

Mr. Norman S. Baylor
REIDSVILLE - Mr. Norman Stanley 'Skip' Baylor, 80, of 1326 Cotswald Terrace, died Thursday, Sept. 3, 1998, at Annie Penn Memorial Hospital.
A native of Morris Park, N.J., he was the husband of Mrs. Kathleen Cheek Baylor, who survives, and the son of Mr. Moses A. Baylor and Mrs. Flossie Gulick Baylor, both deceased. He was a former resident of Burlington and moved to Reidsville three years ago. He was a retired employee of Fortress Insurance Co. He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Reidsville and a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Burlington. He was a charter member of Alamance Country Club and was a member of Pennrose Park Country Club and Reidsville Elks Lodge No. 1723.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Mrs. Wanda B. Fuller of Kingwood, Texas; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Jane P. O'Neal of Greensboro; a stepson, Mr. Mark Perkins of Reidsville; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Clifford M. Baylor.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Main Street United Methodist Church. A graveside service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday at Alamance Memorial Park in Burlington.
THe family will be at Citty Funeral Home from 7:30 to 9 this evening, and at other times at the home.

Mr. Walter W. Lee
BURLINGTON - Mr. Walter W. Lee, 78, of 1619 Maple Ave., died at 7:05 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 1998, at Hospice Home of Burlington after four years of failing health, one month critical.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Lena Jones Lee, who survives, and the son of Mr. Samuel W. Lee and Mrs. Mattie Longest Lee, both deceased. He was retired from textile manufacturing. He was a Methodist and attended Baynes Baptist Church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Mrs. Ronnie (Maria) Fowler of Burlington; two brothers, Mr. Delma Lee of Graham and Mr. Garland 'Billy' Lee of Burlington; a half sister, Mrs. Carolyn Bader of Graham; a half brother, Mr. Donald Lee of Graham; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Norma G. Andrews; and two brothers, Mr. Jack Lee and Mr. Thomas Lee.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rich and Thompson Chapel in Graham by the Rev. Larry McCarty, pastor of Baynes Baptist Church, and the Rev. Paul Stennett, pastor of Bethel United United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will be at Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Graham from 7 to 9 this evening, and at other times at the home.

Mrs. Lora W. Garner
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Lora Elizabeth Prince Weaver 'Libby' Garner, 50, of 407 Chestnut St., died Monday afternoon, Aug. 31, 1998, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, after two weeks of failing health.
A native of Hillsborough, she was the wife of Mr. Leon F. Garner, who survives, and the son of Mr. R. Bruce Prince and Mrs. Ruby Scott Prince, both deceased. She was the owner and operator of Garner Grocery and Grill in Mebane. She was a Baptist.
Survivors other than her husband of the home include two daughters, Mrs. Tammy Weaver of Burlington and Ms. Renee Whittington of Elon College; four sons, Mr. James R. Prince, Mr. Robert F. Garner and Mr. Gary M. Garner, all of the home, and Mr. Eric L. Garner of Hickory; two brothers, Mr. James H. Prince of Mebane and Mr. Larry Prince of McLeansville; and 12 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Alice Cockerill.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington by the Rev. Lynn Gordon. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 7 to 9 this evening, and at other times at the home.
