Mrs. Perry D. Fuller
GRAHAM - Mrs. Perry Dorsett Fuller, 91, of 207 W. Market St., died at 9:05 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, 1998, at the Skilled Nursing Division of Alamance Regional Medical Center after five years of failing health, three weeks critical.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. James Thomas Fuller Sr., and the daughter of Mr. H.K. Dorsett and Mrs. Maggie Perry Dorsett, both deceased. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Graham.
Survivors include two sons, Mr. Bill Fuller of the home and Mr. Bob Fuller of Graham; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Mr. James T. Fuller Jr. and Mr. Donald Dorsett “Jack” Fuller; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church of Graham by the Rev. Paul Phillips, pastor. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 7 to 9 this this evening, and at other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Graham, 303 N. Main St., Graham, N.C. 27253.

Mr. Jessie Morris
GRAHAM - Mr. Jessie Morris, 69, of 1021 Gant Road, died at 12:44 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 1998, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Graham is in charge of arrangements which are incomplete.

Mr. James Kernodle Sr.
HILLSBOROUGH - Mr. James Woodrow Kernodle Sr., 61, of 4123 U.S. 70 East, Durham, died at his home at 10:39 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, 1998.
A native of Cedar Grove, he was the husband of Mrs. Sylvia Ann King Kernodle who survives, and the son of Mr. Thom as C. Kernodle Sr. and Ms. Dealie Westbrooks Kernodle, both deceased. He attended school at the Methodist Orphanage in Raleigh, in Hillsborough and at Williams High School in Burlington.. He was a graduate of Burlington Business College and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of The American Legion and the National Rifle Association. He was a printer most of his life and retired as supervisor of the printing department at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include one son, Mr. James W. Kernodle Jr. of Durham; four brothers, Mr. Garland Kernodle of Mebane, Mr. William Kernodle of Durham, Mr. Wayne Mitchell and Mr. Edward Mitchell, both of Burlington; and four sisters, Ms. Geraldine H. Cole and Ms. Nellie Terrell, both of Hillsborough, Ms. Eva Stephens of Dubline, Va., and Ms. Peggy Grice of Selma.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Walker’s Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Ronnie Bradfer. Burial will be in Bethlehem Christian Church cemetery.
The family will be at Walker Funeral Home in Hillsborough from 7 to 9 this evening.

Ms. Geneva M. Vance
GRAHAM - Ms. Geneva “Jean” M. Vance, 61, of 7-D Cates Circle, died at 11:05 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, 1998, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill after one year of failing health, one week critical.
A native of Wyoming County, W.Va., she was the daughter of Mr. Isaac Vance and Mrs. Garnet Rose Oglesby Vance, both deceased. She was a retired textile worker, and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. James (Diane) Scott of Elon College, Mrs. David (Renee) Perry of Pittsboro and Mrs. Ricky (Dale) Perry of the home; two sons, Mr. James B. Blaylock of Burlington and Mr. Michael E. Blaylock of South Carolina; one sister, Ms. Mary Ann Vance of Graham; one stepbrother, Mr. Ronnie Oglesby of New Mexico; 10 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Graham Memorial Park by the Rev. R.E.L. Moser, Methodist minister.
The family will be at the Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Graham from 12:30 to 1:30 Monday afternoon, and at other times, at the home.

Mr. W. Daniel Moore
HAW RIVER - Mr. W. Daniel “Dan” Moore, 47, of 4125-B S. Jim Minor Road, died at 2:10 p.m. Friday at Maria Parham Hospital in Henderson.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Kay Turner Moore who survives, and the son of Mrs. Alma Dean Ray Moore of Haw River, and the late Mr. Herman Lindle “Moe” Moore. He was a cost analyst and computer systems analyst for Cortina Fabrics, and a member of Grove Park Baptist Church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home, and his mother, include one daughter, Miss Kaitlyn Kaity Moore of the home; two sons, Mr. Joshua Lindle Moore and Mr. Justin Daniel Moore, both of the home; and a brother, Mr. David Lindle Moore of Haw River.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday at Northside Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Dan Bartel, pastor.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Hattie M. Enoch
BURLINGTON - Ms. Hattie Juanita Moore Enoch of 912 Avon Ave., died Oct. 7, 1998 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill after a brief illness.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of Mrs. Carleen Wade who survives, and the late Mr. Howard Wade. She was disabled. She was a member of Ruffin Chapel Christian Church where was a choir member and an usher.
Survivors other than her mother of Burlington include one son, Mr. Marcus Leon Moore of Burlington; four brothers, Mr. Clifton Leon Wade of Baltimore, Mr. Howard Wade, Mr. Ronnie Wade and Mr. Clayton Wade, all of Burlington; one sister, Ms. Elizabeth Ann Wade of Burlington; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ms. Penelope Wade.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Sharpe Memorial Chapel by the Rev. Joe Oakley and the Rev. James Pulliam. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery.
The family will be at Sharpe Memorial Chapel 30 minutes before the service, and at other times, at the home.

Mr. Paul R. Hoffner Sr.
GIBSONVILLE - Mr. Paul Rothrock Hoffner Sr., 63, of 305 Church St., died at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 1998, of leukemia after three and one-half years.
Born Jan. 30, 1935, in Salisbury, he was the husband for 45 years of Mrs. Sylvia Miller Hoffner who survives, and the son of Mr. James L. Hoffner and Mrs. Florence Rothrock Hoffner Fleming, both deceased.
He was a graduate of Boyden High School in Salisbury. He received a degree in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He served in the U.S. Armed Forces, 82nd Airborne Division, MP Company, from 1954 to 1956.
An employee of Laboratory Corporation of America, formerly Bio-Medical Reference Laboratories and Roche Bio-Medical Laboratories, since 1970, he served the company as senior vice president of sales, marketing, pathological services, national accounts and special projects. He served Hoffmann-LaRoche as assistant vice president of sales after joining Bio-Medical Reference Labs as its first and only salesman. Prior to 1970 he was employed with Lloyd Brothers Pharmaceuticals, Sandoz Pharmaceuticals and Bio-Dynamics Inc.
He and his family lived in Raleigh from 1960-1975, at which time he was a member of the Raleigh Jaycees, AMBUCS, and St. Giles Presbyterian Church. He was a member of Gibsonville United Methodist Church..
Survivors other than his wife include two sons, Mr. Paul R. Hoffner Jr. of Charlotte and Mr. Christopher J. Hoffner of Salisbury; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Saundra) Magee of Charlotte and Mrs. Gregory (Stephanie) Chen of Winston-Salem; one sister, Mrs. Joseph (Martha) Casey of Salisbury; and seven grandchildren.
The family will be at the home.
A memorial celebration of life service will be held at the Gibsonville United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to The Hutch School, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, 1100 Fairview Ave. North, Mail Stop H-FCHL, Seattle, Wash., 98109; to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, P.O. Box 2122, Burlington, N.C. 27216-2122; or to a charity of choice.

Mr. John M. Turner
BURLINGTON - Mr. John Mack Turner, of 5755 N.C. 62 North, died Saturday, July 11, 1998, at his home after a long illness.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Gracetta Williamson Turner, and the son of Mr. James Monroe Turner and Mrs. Beatrice Enoch Turner, both deceased. He was a former manager of a Burlington-Graham ABC store and a Winn Dixie Store in Greensboro. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a 33rd Degree Mason, member of Khalif Temple No. 144, Invincible Lodge No. 251, Greensboro Consistory No. 106 and Grand Inspector General. He was a member of Union Chapel United Church of Christ.
Survivors other than his wife include a daughter, Miss Joy Marietta Turner of the home; a son, Mr. John Marcus Turner of Norfolk, Va.; five sisters, Mrs. Nacala T. Mitchell of Los Angeles, Mrs. Elsie Turner of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Bobbi Floyd of Simi Valley, Calif., Ms. Joyce T. Charleston of Charlotte and Mrs. Linda Fuller of Bradford, Mass.; and three brothers, Mr. James Turner, Mr. Horace Turner and Mr. Keith Turner, all of Burlington.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Union Chapel United Church of Christ by the Rev. Ervin Milton, pastor. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at the church 30 minutes before the service, and at other times at the home.

Mr. Howard Mayo Sr.
ORMOND BEACH, Fla. - Mr. Howard A. Mayo Sr., 84, died Sunday, July 12, 1998, at his home.
A native of Wilson, he moved to Ormond Beach from Hendersonville after retiring from Kimberly-Clark Corp. in 1987. He was a lab technician at Halifax Hospital and was a member of St. James Episcopal Church.
Survivors include two sons, Mr. Howard Mayo Jr. of Ormond Beach, and Mr. Frank Mayo of Burlington; a brother, Mr. Henry Mayo of Danville, Va.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel at Thomas Shepherd Memorial Park in Hendersonville.
The family will be in the chapel following the service.
Memorials may be made to St. James Episcopal Church, Youth Ministry, 44 S. Halifax Drive, Ormond Beach, Fla., 32176.

Mrs. Cora R. Murray
GRAHAM - Mrs. Cora Rackley Murray, 79, formerly of 115 Chestnut St., Burlington, died at 2:15 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 1998, at the Presbyterian Home of Hawfields, after several years of failing health, two weeks critical.
A native of Anderson County, S.C., she was the wife of the late Mr. Lloyd Raymond Murray, and the daughter of Mr. Charles Rackley and Mrs. Minnie Clamp Rackley, both deceased. She was a retired textile employee and was a member of Harvest Hills Church of God.
Survivors include a son, Mr. Lloyd Alan Murray of Graham; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Rector of Lexington.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Cleo Miller and Mrs. Helen Miller, a brother, Mr. Norman Rackley, and a grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham by the Rev. Jerry Tow, pastor of Harvest Hills Church of God. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Maxine B. Gray
GREENSBORO - Mrs. Maxine B. Gray, 77, of 902 Glenwood Ave., died Monday, July 13, 1998, at Wesley Long Hospital.
A native of Greensboro, she was the wife of the late Mr. Frank J. Gray. She worked as a merchandise inspector at Sears before retiring after 39 years of service. She was a member of 16th Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Ms. Barbara Gray of the home; three sons, Mr. James B. Gray of Greensboro, Mr. Randy Gray of Summerfield and Mr. Timothy K. Gray of Randleman; four sisters, Ms. Ruth Lowe of Liberty, Ms. Mildred Petree of Burlington, Ms. Doris Robinson of Hickory and Ms. Joan Monroe of College Station, Texas; a brother, Mr. Ray Phillips of Burlington; and four grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Guilford Memorial Park.
The family will be at Hanes-Lineberry North Elm Chapel from 7 to 9 Thursday evening, and at other times at the home of Mr. James Gray, 1503 Hanner St., Greensboro.
Memorials may be made to 16th Street Baptist Church, 900 16th St., Greensboro, N.C. 27405.
