STONEY CREEK - Mr. Walter M. Bonk, 63, of 6439 Bell Cross Trail, died at 11:16 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 1998, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

Mrs. Ruth B. McIntyre
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Ruth Blalock McIntyre, 86, of 2304 Hyde St., died Wednesday, July 8, 1998, after a critical illness of three weeks.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Carl Richard "Mutt" McIntyre, and the daughter of Mr. George L. Blalock and Mrs. Fannie Huffines Blalock Terrell, both deceased. She was a retired department head at Belk Beck of Burlington. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she was a former teacher of the Earnest Workers Class and was awarded an honorary life membership in the Women of the Church Organization in 1976.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Betty Hermansdorfer of Charlottesville, Va., Mrs. Nancy Trent of Louisville, Ky., and Mrs. Susan Baggett of Camden, Ala.; four sons, Mr. Carl L. McIntyre and Mr. Mark D. McIntyre, both of Burlington, Mr. Kenneth L. McIntyre of Prospect Hill and Mr. M. Ray McIntyre of Graham; a sister, Mrs. Brownie Dempsey of Chapel Hill; 21 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. George H. Blalock.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Westminster Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Powell Sykes, pastor. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will be at the church from 12:45 to 1:45 Saturday afternoon, and at other times at the home.

Mrs. Ruth B. Mauney
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mrs. Ruth Barrier Mauney, 89, a resident of Twin Lakes Center, died at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 1998, at the center.
A native of Mount Pleasant, she was the wife of the late Dr. Jacob Luther Mauney, and the daughter of Mr. George Lewis Barrier and Mrs. Mattie Hahn Barrier, both deceased. She was a former school teacher and a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church in Burlington.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mary Mauney Wells of Greensboro and Mrs. Grace Virginia Mauney of Winston-Salem; a son, Dr. Jacob Luther Mauney Jr. of Goodview, Va.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Kings Mountain by Dr. John David Mauney and Dr. Marshall F. Mauney. Burial will be in Mountain Rest cemetery in Kings Mountain.
Memorials may be made to the Mauney Scholarship Fund, c/o Roanoke College, Salem, Va.; to the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, S.C.; or to a charity of choice.

Mrs. Hallie Beckerdite
CLEMMONS - Mrs. Hallie Stadler Beckerdite, 76, of Driftwood Drive, died Wednesday evening, July 8, 1998, at Wake Forest University/Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Born Feb. 7, 1922, in Caswell County, she was the wife for 51 years of Mr. Bill O. Beckerdite, who survives, and the daughter of the late Mrs. Elizabeth Stadler. She was employed by Southern Bell and by Western Electric, where she was active in the Pioneer work. She was a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem and Order of the Eastern Star, Walter C. Kerns, No. 298, where she held numerous offices. She was an active member of Ardmore United Methodist Church and a former member of Camp Springs United Methodist Church in Caswell County.
Survivors include her husband and other relatives in the Burlington area.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, Silas Creek Chapel, by Dr. William T. Medlin III and the Rev. Bill E. Bass. Burial will be in Forsyth Memorial Park.
Mr. Raymond Bradley
FRANKLINVILLE - Mr. Raymond F. Bradley of 3787 N.C. 22 North, died at 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 1998, at Randolph Memorial Hospital.

Mr. George R. Talley
BURLINGTON - Mr. George Rufus Talley, 60, of 530 Beaumont Ave., died at 10:36 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness.
A native of Lincoln County, Tenn., he was the husband of Mrs. Ann Green Talley, who survives, and the son of Mr. William Thomas Talley Sr., and Mrs. Jewell Morehead Talley, both deceased.
Survivors other than his wife include a son, Mr. Kenny A. Talley of Fayetteville, Tenn.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Jean McLaughlin of Uniondale, N.Y.; and four brothers, Mr. William T. Talley Jr. of Burlington, Mr. Levoyd Talley and Mr. Robert D. Talley, both of Petersburg, Tenn., and Mr. Lee Mitchell Talley of Simpsonville, S.C.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Eastside Church of Christ in Petersburg by the Rev. Roy Holman, pastor. Burial will be in Pleasant View cemetery in Petersburg.
Mr. Rudy L. Allison
GRAHAM - Mr. Rudy Lee Allison, 83, of 1727 Melody Lane, died at 2:25 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 1998, at his home after several years of failing health, two weeks critical.
A native of Orange County, he was the husband of Mrs. Molly Mae Massey Allison, who survives, and the son of Mr. David V. Allison and Mrs. Essie Vane Allen Allison, both deceased. He was retired from Cannon Mills and was a member of Christian Alliance Church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include two son, Mr. Richard D. Allison of Mebane and Mr. Murphy D. Allison of Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. Irma Ellington Pike and Miss Pearl Allison, both of Burlington; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ms. Martha Faye Allison Harrell, and three brothers, Mr. Junius Allison, Mr. Walter Allison and Mr. Melvin Allison.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rich and Thompson Chapel in Graham by Elder Wallis Smith. Burial will be in McCray Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. James R. Wade
BURLINGTON - Mr. James Raymond Wade, 81, of 2417 Jeffries Cross Road, died at 9:10 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center, after one year of failing health, nine days critical.
A native of Caswell County, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Mary Belle Hargis Wade, and the son of Mr. Willie Ervin Wade and Mrs. Luna Cobb Wade, both deceased. He was a retired farmer and textile worker.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jimmy (Wanda) Wynn of Hurdle Mills; a son, Mr. Gary R. Wade of the home; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Barnwell, Mrs. Pauline Loy and Mrs. Melba Warren, all of Burlington; six brothers, Mr. Wilbur Wade and Mr. Hassell Wade, both of Burlington, Mr. Warren Wade of Frogsboro, Mr. Franklin Wade of Graham, Mr. Carlton Wade of Milwaukee and Mr. Bobby Dean Wade of Ft. Charlotte, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. Edgar Wade and Mr. J.D. Wade.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham by the Rev. Steve Loy, pastor of Antioch Baptist Church. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
Mrs. Elva Kaucher
EPHRATA, Pa. - Mrs. Elva Kaucher, 66, of 270 Clay School Road, died Wednesday morning, July 8, 1998, at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia after a long illness.
A native of Ephrata, she was the wife for 45 years of the Rev. Howard L. Kaucher, who survives, and the daughter of Mrs. Helen Sheaffer Martin, who survives, and the late Mr. Noah W. Martin. She was a registered nurse and worked at various hospitals and doctors offices in Tennessee, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia during her husband's ministry. She was previously from Palmyra and had lived at her present address for the past three years. She was a member of the Annville Church of the Brethren, where she served on the ministry commission.
Survivors other than her husband and mother of Ephrata include a daughter, Mrs. Kathy D. Hizar of Altoona, Pa.; three sons, Mr. Kerry L. Kaucher of Graham, Mr. Kenneth L. Kaucher of Newville, Pa., and Mr. Keith L. Kaucher of Carlisle, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Janice Martin of East Petersburg, Pa., and Mrs. Jean Deckard of Ephrata; a brother, Mr. Harold S. Martin of York, Pa.; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Annville Church of the Brethren by the Rev. Richard F. Shreckhise. A private graveside service will be in Middle Creek Brethren cemetery in Ephrata Township.
The family will be at the church following the memorial service.

Ms. Mary G. Carter
REIDSVILLE - Ms. Mary Gillie Carter, 95, of 6181 N.C. 700, Eden, died Thursday morning, July 9, 1998, at Annie Penn Hospital.
A native of Alamance County, she was retired from American Tobacco Co. She was a member of Happy Home United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Mr. Martin Gillie of Reidsville; a sister, Ms. Annie Ward of Elon College; a brother, Mr. Paul Tate of Elon College; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Willard McPherson
BURLINGTON - Mr. Willard G. McPherson, 77, of 1416 White Kennel Road, died Tuesday evening, July 7, 1998, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham after a serious illness of two months.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband for 55 years of Mrs. Inez Barnes McPherson, who survives, and the son of Mr. Robert L. McPherson and Mrs. Etta Cheek McPherson, both deceased. He was the former owner of Maple Avenue Dry Cleaners and was still active in dry cleaning with McPherson Cleaners. He was the oldest dry cleaner in Alamance County with more than 50 years of service. He was past member of the N.C. Dry Cleaners Association and member of American Legion Post 63 in Burlington. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a member of Bellemont United Methodist Church, where he was former superintendent of the Sunday school department and was active in the Men's Bible Class.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include three sons, Mr. Jeffrey W. McPherson of Richmond, Va., Mr. Gary R. "Bub" McPherson of Gibsonville and Mr. Duane B. McPherson of Graham; three sisters, Mrs. Doris Johnson of High Point and Mrs. Naomi Capps and Mrs. Kathryn Glenn, both of Burlington; a brother, Mr. Bobbie McPherson of Burlington; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Ms. Mae McPherson, and three brothers, Mr. Homer McPherson, Mr. Ben McPherson and Mr. Raymond McPherson.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Bellemont United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jeff Roberts, pastor, and the Rev. R.E.L. Moser, retired Methodist minister. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.

Mr. Edward Crawford Jr.
GREAT NECK, N.Y. - Mr. Edward "Dukey" Crawford Jr., 50, of 10 Sprnney Hill Drive died Monday, July 6, 1998, in New York after a sudden illness.
A native of Alamance County, he was the son of Mr. Edward Crawford Sr. and Mrs. Fannie Richmond Crawford, both deceased.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Betty C. Bynum and Mrs. Emma C. Mebane, both of Burlington; and two brothers, Mr. Larry Doby Crawford and Mr. Wilbur Crawford, both of Burlington.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hargett and Bryant Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Larry Covington. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will be at the funeral home 30 minutes before the service, and at other times at the home of Mrs. Emma C. Mebane, 2430 Aaron St., Glen Raven.
