Mr. Robert Martin
BURLINGTON - Mr. Robert S. I. Martin, 62, of 1711 Whitsett St., Apt. C-8, died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 1997, at his home after a critical illness of one month.
A native of Jackson, Mich., he was the husband of Mrs. Joyce Holt Martin, who survives, and the son of Mrs. Ann M. Paciorek, who survives, and the late Mr. Ignatius Marcinkiewicz. He was the stepson of Mr. Joseph Paciorek, who survives. He was a former employee of Penn Central Railroad and Collins and Aikman. He was a Roman Catholic.
Survivors other than his wife of the home and mother and stepfather of Jackson, include two daughters, Mrs. Angie M. McNichols and Mrs. Wendy M. Chatfield, both of Jackson; two sons, Mr. Steven M. Martin and Mr. Patrick J. Martin, both of Jackson; and seven grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
The family will be at the home of Mrs. Earlene H. Terrell, 308 Banks St., Graham, from 7 to 9 this evening and at other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
Mrs. Ada L. Atkins
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Ada Little Atkins, 90, of 3241 Pond Road, formerly of Brunswick County, died at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 1997, at Alamance Health Care Center after two years of failing health, three weeks critical.
A native of Columbus County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Dempsy Cemore Atkins and the daughter of Mr. Hiram Melvin Little and Mrs. Victoria Mooney Little, both deceased. She was a member of Camp Branch Baptist Church in Whiteville.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Fleecie Little Jerrell of the home; and a brother, Mr. Ernest Little of Lake Waccamaw.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Miss Rosa Little, Mrs. Ida McKeithan and Mrs. Alma Sharpe; and a brother, Mr. George Little.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Lake Waccamaw cemetery by the Rev. Garland Long, pastor of Camp Branch Baptist Church.
There will be no visitation.

Mr. W. Hugh Winn
ELON COLLEGE - Mr. Willard Hugh 'Piggie' Winn, 90, of 2711 Laundry Road, died at 1:35 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 1997, at the Hospice Home in Burlington after a critical illness of one month.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Elzora 'Jack' Barber Winn, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. William Henry Winn and Mrs. Ellen Gravely Winn, both deceased. He was retired from Burlington Industries, Williamsburg Plant, after 47 years of service. He was a life-long member of Berea Christian Church, where he served as deacon, trustee and cemeterian.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (June W.) Sellars of Burlington and Mrs. William J. (Jeanette) Jones of Black Mountain; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by seven sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Waynick, Mrs. Minnie Crisman, Mrs. Fannie Kernodle, Mrs. Matilda Gerringer, Mrs. Catherine Simpson, Mrs. Marcella Hughes and Mrs. Ruby Murr; and four brothers, Mr. Ben Winn, Mr. Henry Winn, Mr. Jennings Winn and Mr. Glenn Winn.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at Berea Christian Church by the Rev. Bland Leebrick, pastor, and the Rev. Milton Reimer, former pastor. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home from 7 to 9 this evening and at other times at the home.

Mr. Bobby Durham
BLUFF CITY, Tenn. - Mr. Bobby Durham, 62, died at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6, 1997, at Ocracoke Island.
A native of Orange County, he was the husband of Mrs. Mary Ann Kirkpatrick Durham, who survives, and the son of Mr. Luther L. Durham and Mrs. Annie Pendergraph Durham, both deceased. He was a retired employee of Smith Cline Beecham Laboratories.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Ms. Debra Durham Isley of Cedar Grove; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Holmes and Mrs. Gladys Rook, both of Efland, and Ms. Virginia Durham of Mebane; three brothers, Mr. Jodie Durham of Mebane, Mr. Frankie Durham of Hillsborough and Mr. Curtis Durham of High Point; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 8 this evening at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home Chapel in Bristol, Tenn.

Mr. Lonnie M. Setzer
BURLINGTON - Mr. Lonnie Milton Setzer, 81, of 3830 N. Main St., died at 9:05 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 1997, at High Point Care Center after a critical illness of five weeks.
A native of Cabarrus County, he was the son of Mr. Julius Milton Setzer and Mrs. Willie Maude Chriscoe Setzer, both deceased. He was a retired textile employee and a Baptist.
Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Nora Mae Harvey, Mrs. Catherine Baker and Mrs. Mozelle Whitten, all of Burlington, and Mrs. Jean Lattimer of Atlanta; and a brother, Mr. Archie Setzer of Gibsonville.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Alamance Memorial Park by the Rev. Randy Hobbs, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church.
The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Burlington from 9:30 to 10:30 Friday morning.
Mr. Wallace H. Bradshaw
GRAHAM - Mr. Wallace Henry Bradshaw, 70, of 212 S. Marshall St., died at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 1997, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after one year of failing health, three days critical.
A native of Orange County, he was the husband of Mrs. Ozelle Andrews Bradshaw, who survives, and the son of Mr. Sperrell Hill Bradshaw and Mrs. Alma Brewer Bradshaw, both deceased. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was retired from White's Furniture Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Graham.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Mrs. Annya Ceton Toney of Graham; a son, Mr. Coyle S. Bradshaw of Graham; four brothers, Mr. James Bradshaw of Efland, Mr. Cecil R. Bradshaw of Mebane, Mr. Charles Bradshaw of Florida and Mr. John R. Bradshaw of Burlington; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Ms. Etrola Sykes; and a brother, Mr. Ralph H. Bradshaw.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Graham by Dr. Paul A. Lane, pastor, Dr. Ralph E. Jones Jr., pastor emeritus, and the Rev. Keith Moore, pastor of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in Moore's Chapel Cemetery.

Mr. Edward E. Wambersie Jr .
MIDLOTHIAN, Va. - Mr. Edward Ernest 'Ernie' Wambersie Jr., 63, formerly of Burlington, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 1997.
He was the husband of Mrs. Elizabeth A. Wambersie, who survives. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and attended Hampton-Sidney College.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include two daughters, Mrs. Mary Rolland Davenport of Richmond, Va. and Miss Ann Barbour Wambersie of Midlothian; two stepsons, Mr. John W. Hawkins of Richmond and Mr. Richard Hawkins of Radford, Va.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Burns of Seattle and Mrs. Catherine A. Hawkins of Midlothian; two sisters, Mrs. Eugenia W. Lankford of Vienna, Va. and Mrs. Philippa Anne Andrade of Portsmouth, R.I.; and one stepgrandchild.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home in Richmond.

Mrs. Mary P. Belton
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Mary Page Belton, 84, of 2103 S. Mebane St., died at 2:59 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 1997, at Vencor Hospital in Greensboro after several months of failing health.
A native of Caswell County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Dewey Paul Belton and the daughter of Mr. Joe Albert Page and Mrs. Louise Page Page, both deceased. She was a homemaker and worked part time at Violet's Beauty Shop. She was a member of Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Violet Priddy of the home; three sons, Mr. Billy T. Belton and Mr. Richard L. Belton, both of Burlington, and Mr. Joe Harold Belton of Graham; two sisters, Mrs. Katie Smith and Mrs. Anabel Butler, both of Reidsville; six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-stepgrandchild.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Ms. Maggie Lovelace, Ms. Jennylee Cobb and Ms. Daisy Hall; and a brother, Mr. Isaac Page.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church by Elder Wallis Smith, Bush Arbor Baptist Church, and the Rev. Floyd Repass, pastor of Community Baptist Church. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Mernell London
GREENSBORO - Mrs. Mernell Graves London of 1607 Benbow Road, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 1997, at her home.
A native of Gibsonville, she was the daughter of Mr. James William 'Orange' Graves and Mrs. Addie Wade Graves, both deceased. She attended elementary school in Gibsonville and Immanuel Lutheran College High School in Greensboro. She graduated from North Carolina A&T State University with a bachelor's degree and a master's degree. She attended Columbia University in New York and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Kellogg Foundation awarded her a fellowship to participate in an Inter-Cultural Workshop in Kalamazoo, Mich. She taught English, social studies, humanities, dramatics, journalism and debating techniques in several North Carolina schools for more than 43 years. She retired from the Burlington City School system in 1976. She was a charter member of Alpha Phi Chapter, North Carolina A&T State University and the Beta Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. She was named Golden Soror because she was in the sorority for 50 years. She was a member of One More Effort Community Club and the STROB Community Club. She was a volunteer with the American Red Cross bloodmobile, the former L. Richardson Hospital Auxiliary and served as a registrar for the Guilford County Board of Elections, precinct No. 7. She was a member of the National Education Association, the North Carolina Association of Educators, the North Carolina Retired School Personnel, Retired N.C. Governmental Employees Association and the Greensboro Chapter of American Association of Retired Persons. She was a former member of First Gibsonville Baptist Church and a member of Providence Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Community Service Guild, Library Club, Vacation Bible School, the Sunday school class and the Bible study class.
Survivors include a brother, Mr. Harold Graves of Richardson, Texas.
She was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Providence Baptist Church, 1106 Tuscaloosa St., Greensboro. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. will have a service at 7 p.m. Thursday at Hargett's Funeral Home in Greensboro.

Mrs. Navella T. Terrell
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Navella Torain Terrell, 92, of 1610-E Morningside Drive, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 1997, at her home after a critical illness of several months.
A native of Orange County, she was the wife of the late Mr. James Allen Terrell and the daughter of Mr. Wiley Torain and Mrs. Betty Warren Torain, both deceased. She was a member of Guiding Light Holy Church, where she was a mother of the church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Betty Oakley of the home, Mrs. Corene T. Booker and Mrs. Doris Oakley, both of Burlington; three sons, Mr. Clemon Terrell, Mr. Rudolph Terrell and Mr. Robert Terrell, all of Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. Janet Pitts of Goldsboro and Mrs. Bertha Villines of Cedar Grove; two brothers, Mr. Jule Torain and Mr. Ralph Torain, both of Durham; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Guiding Light Holy Church in Graham by Elder George Mitchell. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
