Mrs. Catherine Crawley
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Catherine Phillips Crawley, 75, of 1014 Rauhut St., died Monday, July 20, 1998, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill after a critical illness of several weeks.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Henry Ernest Crawley, and the daughter of Mr. Willie Phillips and Mrs. Mary Collins Phillips, both deceased. She was a member of the Christian Tabernacle United Church of Christ.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Mary Louise Perkins, Mrs. Evelyn Rogers and Mrs. Ernestine Price, all of Burlington; a son, Mr. Dwayne Crawley of Burlington; three foster daughters, Ms. Lillie Belle Briggs of Detroit, and Ms. Timeca Phillips and Ms. Doretha Phillips, both of Burlington; a sister, Mrs. Hattie P. Russell of Riverhead, N.Y.; two brothers, Mr. Charlie Phillips and Mr. James Phillips, both of Burlington; two foster sisters, Mrs. Faye Jean Haith and Mrs. Annette Williamson, both of Burlington; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ms. Beatrice Phillips; and a brother, Mr. Walter Phillips.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Christian Tabernacle United Church of Christ by the Rev. Calvin Langley, pastor. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will be at Hargett and Bryant Funeral Home from 7 to 8 Thursday evening, and at other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Perkins, 909 Short St., Burlington.
Mr. W.E. Bartlett Jr.
GIBSONVILLE - Mr. W.E. 'Bill' Bartlett Jr., 73, of 515 Church St., died at 2:40 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 1998, at Duke University Medical Center.
A native of Richmond, Va., he was the husband of Mrs. Colene Pope Bartlett, who survives, and the son of Mr. Willis E. Bartlett Sr. and Mrs. Annie Starke Bartlett, both deceased. A 1953 graduate of the Cincinnati College of Embalming, he was the owner and operator of Bartlett Funeral Home of Gibsonville since June 1, 1955, and the former owner of Brooke Funeral Home in Stokesdale. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Tabasco Masonic Lodge No. 271 AF&AM, Scottish Rite and Shrine of Greensboro, and the Board of Directors of the Gibsonville Community Savings Bank. He was a former member of the Gibsonville Rotary Club. He was a member of Gibsonville United Methodist Church, where he was a former member of the Board of Trustee, Administrative Board and church treasurer.
The funeral will be conducted at 7 p.m. today:30 to 6:30 this evening.

Mr. Hubert Harrelson
BURLINGTON - Mr. Hubert Y. Harrelson, 71, of 7608 N.C. 62 North, died at 10:57 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a critical illness of several days.
A native of Orange County, he was the husband of Mrs. Lucille Bradsher Jacobs Harrelson, who survives, and the son of Mr. Willie Thomas Harrelson and Mrs. Rady Byrd Harrelson, both deceased. He was retired from Burlington Industries and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Augustus Lodge No. 642, Prince Hall Masonic Order, the El Jebel Temple No. 97 Shriners, and he was a 33rd degree member of the James T. Diggs GIG No. 308. He was a member of Sweet Gum Baptist Church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Mrs. Lena Harrelson Burnette of Burlington; four sons, Mr. Sydney 'Rooster' Corbett of Burlington, Mr. Hubert Wesley Harrelson, Mr. Julius Harrelson and Mr. Gathern Harrelson, all of the home; three sisters, Mrs. Alease H. Poteat, Mrs. Betty Lou Curry and Ms. Cozy O. Harrelson, all of Greensboro; four brothers, Mr. Jerry Harrelson and Mr. Kelly Harrelson, both of Greensboro, Mr. Robert Harrelson of Burlington and Mr. Elmer Harrelson of Polston; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mr. David Lee Harrelson; a sister, Ms. Faye Harrelson; and a brother, Mr. Willie T. Harrelson.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sweet Gum Baptist Church by the Rev. Rufus L. Johnson and the Rev. Larry E. Covington. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Rosa J. Brewer
MEBANE - Mrs. Rosa Jane Brewer, 88, of 4135 N.C. 54 East, Graham, died at 9 a.m. Monday, July 20, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 6, 1910, in Patrick County, Va., she was the wife of the late Mr. Clarence Brewer, and the daughter of Mr. Richard Lee Foley and Mrs. Sarah Foley, both deceased. She was a homemaker and a member of People's Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Ms. Mary Price of Graham and Ms. Faye Womble of Mebane; two sons, Mr. Johnny Brewer of Burlington and Mr. Richard Brewer of Saxapahaw; three sisters, Ms. Ethel Foley and Ms. Pearl Edwards, both of Virginia, and Ms. Josie McKinston of Greensboro; a brother, Mr. Roy Foley of Virginia; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at People's Church by the Rev. James Christopher. Burial will be in Bethel Church Cemetery.
The family will be at Walker's Funeral Home from 7 to 9 this evening.
Mr. Glosson Edwards
SILER CITY - Mr. Glosson R. Edwards, 83, of 3180 Old U.S. 421, died Sunday, July 19, 1998, at Chatham Hospital in Siler City.
He was the husband of Mrs. Dale Coble Edwards. He was a retired truck driver for Carolina Tank Lines and was a member of Moon's Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors other than his wife of Siler City include a daughter, Ms. Sharon G. Burton of High Point; three sons, Mr. Roger G. Edwards of Huntersville, and Mr. Barry Edwards and Mr. Garry Edwards, both of Siler City; a sister, Ms. Rachel E. Moon of Snow Camp; 10 grandchildren; and two foster grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Moon's Chapel Baptist Church in Siler City by the Rev. Garland Foushee and the Rev. Steve Meads. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at Smith and Buckner Funeral Home in Siler City from 7 to 9 this evening.

Mr. Myron A. Mora II
WHITSETT - Mr. Myron Alfonzo 'Mike' Mora II, 42, of 7107 Burlington Road, died at 2:20 p.m. Sunday, July 19, 1998, at his home after nine months of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, he was the son of Mr. Myron Alfonzo Mora Sr. and Mrs. Betty Lowe Mora, who both survive. He graduated from Eastern High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He attended Vandalia Presbyterian Church.
Survivors other than his mother of Whitsett and father of Haw River include a sister, Mrs. Penny Coleman of Haw River.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham by the Rev. Larry Lamberth, pastor of Harvest Baptist Church. Burial will be in Hawfields Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 7 to 9 this evening.

Ms. Nora L. Lambert
KERNERSVILLE - Ms. Nora Lisa Lambert, 89, of 230 Hopkins Road, Robinwood Retirement Center, died at 4:35 a.m. Monday, July 20, 1998, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
Born Dec. 14, 1908, in Stanley County, she was the daughter of Mr. Adam Eli Lambert and Mrs. Margaret Louise Huneycutt Lambert, both deceased. She was a house mother at Elon Homes for Children and was a member of Church of Christ in Elon College.
Survivors include a son, Mr. Joe Lambert of Winston-Salem; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle by Dr. W.W. Snyder. Burial will be in Running Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Stanfield.

Mrs. Marie F. Lawson
HOUSTON - Mrs. Marie Freiley Lawson, 86, of Houston, died Friday, July 17, 1998, in Houston.
She was the wife of the late Mr. Myron Emmett Lawson. She was an active volunteer with the San Jacinto Girl Scout Council, where she served as a Scout Leader for 10 years and worked directly with the Council many years following.
Survivors include one daughter, Ms. Martha Webster of Bellaire, Texas; two sons, Mr. Robert E. Lawson of Longview, Texas, and Mr. Charles A. Lawson of Burlington; and eight grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Earthman Bellaire Chapel, 6700 Ferris, Bellaire. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the San Jacinto Girl Scout Council, 3110 SW Freeway, Houston, Texas 77098.<

A native of Alamance County, he was the son of Mr. Myron Alfonzo Mora and Mrs. Betty Lowe Mora.
Survivors other than his father of Haw River and mother of Whitsett include a sister, Mrs. Penny Coleman of Haw River.

Ms. Mary M. King
BURLINGTON - Ms. Mary Magdalene King of 3003 Dickey Mill Road died Friday, July 17, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of Mr. Daniel King and Mrs. Claytor Spencer King, both deceased. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Miles Chapel Baptist Church in Mebane.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Stephens of Virgilina, Va., and Ms. Lona King of Burlington; and one brother, Mr. Edward King of Burlington.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Miles Chapel Baptist Church by the Rev. Bruce Hurst, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at the church 30 minutes before the service and at other times at the home.
