Mrs. Eula H. Pike
LIBERTY - Mrs. Eula Hinshaw Pike, 89, formerly of 2563 Pike Road, died at 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 31, 1999, at White Oak Manor in Burlington.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Mr. Jesse A. Pike, who died in 1963, and the daughter of Mr. Isham J. Hinshaw and Mrs. Mary Andrews Hinshaw, both deceased. She was retired from Kayser-Roth Hosiery Mill. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church and past member of the Circle No. 1 Club.
Survivors include a son, Mr. Max R. Pike of Liberty; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Pleasant Hill Christian Church cemetery by the Rev. Howard Spray, pastor.
The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home from 7 to 9 this evening, and at other times at the home of the son, 2671 Pike Road, Liberty.
Mrs. Joann W. Murray
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Joann Wade Murray, 52, of 417 Enoch St., died Monday, May 31, 1999, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a critical illness of several days.
A native of Orange County, she was the daughter of Ms. Doria Leola Wade and Mr. William Johnson, both deceased. She was a 1964 graduate of Jordan Sellars High School. She was a member of Allen’s Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lavern Holman Hester and Miss Sharon L. Wade, both of Burlington; two sons, Mr. Thomas Holman and Mr. Kerry Wade, both of Burlington; a brother, Mr. Frederick Wade of Greensboro; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Allen’s Chapel Baptist Church by the Rev. James Brown. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at Hargett and Bryant Funeral Home from 6 to 6:30 this evening, and at other times at the home of Ms. Sharon Lynette Wade, 439 Dudely St., Apt. B, Burlington.
Mr. B.W. Moore
GRAHAM - Mr. B.W. “Brad” Moore, 62, of Burlington, died at 5:09 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, 1999, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness.
A native of Anson County, he was the son of Mr. J.T. Moore and Mrs. Eunice Braswell Moore, both deceased. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lisa Moore Alcon of Graham; two sons, Mr. Mike Moore of Graham and Mr. Terry L. Moore of Raleigh; two sisters, Mrs. Lucille Hartley of Albemarle and Mrs. Betty Jean Lee of Morvan; a brother, Mr. Everette Moore of Burlington; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Lorine Tucker, and a brother, Mr. Charles Moore.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rich and Thompson Chapel in Graham by the Rev. Lester Haney. Burial will be in Graham Memorial Park.
The family will be at Rich and Thompson Chapel in Graham following the service, and at other times at the home of the daughter, 2400 Rogers Road, Graham.

Mr. Glenn R. Miller
BURLINGTON - Mr. Glenn Reginald Miller, 93, of 414 W. Willowbrook Drive, died at 9:35 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, 1999, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after an illness of one month.
A native of Luray, Va., he was the husband of Mrs. Lyda Lee Long Miller, who survives, and the late Mrs. Beulah Morton Miller. He was the son of Mr. Joseph S. Miller and Mrs. Retta Shenk Miller, both deceased. He served as personal secretary and business manager for Gov. Angus W. McLean for six years. He became secretary of Production Credit Corp. in Columbia, S.C., for 11 years. In 1940, he opened Morton-Miller Inc. with Wayne Morton, formerly with Somers Pardue Real Estate for 10 years. He later owned Miller Insurance and Real Estate Co. and was a rental agent for Cum Park Plaza. He retired in 1972. He was a member of Front Street United Methodist Church and the Men’s Bible Class, where he was secretary/treasurer for 20 years. He was recently awarded life membership on the Administrative Board. He was a member of the Burlington Kiwanis Club.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a stepdaughter, Mrs. Buell (Pat) Moser of Burlington; three stepsons, Dr. Gene Long and Mr. Jerry Long, both of Burlington, and Mr. B. Alan Long of Raleigh; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren; and 19 step great-granchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Dudley (Anne) Clinard; and a sister, Mrs. Mary M. Hardcastle.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Front Street United Methodist Church by Dr. William C. Simpson, pastor. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Burlington Kiwanis Club

Dr. Jose M. Bohigas
BURLINGTON - Dr. Jose M. Bohigas, of 510 Atwater St., died at 4:45 p.m. Sunday, May 30, 1999, at his home after seven months of failing health.
A native of Camaguay, Cuba, he was the husband of Mrs. Lourdes Bello Bohigas, who survives, and the son of Mr. Jose Bohigas Casals and Mrs. Isaura Caballero Bohigas Casals, both deceased. He was a retired professor of Spanish and language arts.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Ms. Maria Bohigas Foster of Burlington; a son, Mr. Bernardo M. Bohigas of Madison; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ms. Milagros Caballero and Ms. Graciela Bohigas.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington by Dr. Howard Thompson, pastor of Burlington Assembly of God. Entombment will be in Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Mrs. Sadie S. Shaw
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Sadie Seamster Shaw, 91, of White Oak Manor died at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 1999, at the manor after 10 years of failing health. She was formerly of Wilkins Street.
A native of Caswell County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Samuel Luther Shaw and the daughter of Mr. James Monroe Seamster and Mrs. Laura Sue Phillips Seamster, both deceased. She was a former employee of Sellars Department Store and was a member of Hocutt Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Hinton of Burlington, Mrs. Mary S. Massey of Danville, Va., and Mrs. Lucille S. Hughes of Winston-Salem.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hocutt Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. Ben Cox. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

MEBANE - Ms. Kathryn Sue Jones Leath, 49, of 122 Edgewood Church Road, died at 3:03 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 1999, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after an illness of 2½ years.
Born Jan. 19, 1950, in Alamance County, she was the daughter of Mr. Charles Victor Jones and Mrs. Frances Williamson Jones Marhsall, both deceased. She was retired from Brown Wooten Hosiery Co., and was a member of First Baptist Church of Haw River.
Survivors include a son, Mr. Mark Blackmon of Burlington; and two sisters, Mrs. Linda J. Preston of Thomasville and Mrs. Donna Coralee Dodson of Mebane.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Haw River by the Rev. Richard Poindexter and the Rev. Tim Taylor. Burial will be at a later date.

RAMSEUR - Mr. Isaac Woodrow Parks, 86, of 7697 Coltrane Meadow Road, died Tuesday, June 1, 1999, at Greensboro Retirement Center.
A native of Randolph County, he was a farmer and member of Parks Cross Roads Christian Church.
Survivors include two sons, Mr. Larry Parks of Mebane and Mr. Jerry Parks of Ramseur; a daughter, Ms. Julia Smith of Greensboro; two brothers, Mr. Samuel Parks and Mr. Franklin Parks, both of Ramseur; a sister, Ms. Mary Allen of Ramseur; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

SWEPSONVILLE - Mrs. Elma Davis Isley of 102 N. Front St., died at 3:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, 1999, at Alamance Heath Care Center after a short illness.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. D. Twyman Isley and the daughter of Mr. J. Lee Davis and Mrs. Zanie Pickard Davis, both deceased. She was a retired employee of Virginia Mills and was a member of Swepsonville Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Mr. Larry J. Isley of Melbourne, Fla.; two grandchildren; three step grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
