Mrs. Adella S. Hoyle
PLEASANT GARDEN - Mrs. Adella Elizabeth Sodosky Hoyle, 84, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999, at 6809 Rustic Wood Court, after a long illness. She was a former resident of Albright Avenue, Burlington.
A native of Savannah, Ga., she was the wife of the Rev. Earl Theadore Hoyle, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. Stephen Stanley Sodosky and Mrs. Mary Pavalick Sodosky, both deceased. She was a homemaker and served for 22 years in ministry work at Skilled Nursing Division of Memorial Hospital of Alamance. She attended Holmes College of the Bible. She was a member of Trinity Worship Center.
Survivors other than her husband include three sons, Mr. Earl Stanley Hoyle and Mr. David Leslie Hoyle, both of Greensboro, and the Rev. Hugh Elliott Hoyle of Pleasant Garden; two brothers, Mr. Edward Sodosky of Baltimore and Mr. Steve Sodosky of Beckley, W. Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Sophia Ann Ahart of Danville, Va., Ms. Julia Ann Sodosky (Sister Mary Augusta) of Providence, R.I., and Ms. Helen Sodosky; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. Pete Sodosky and Mr. Alex Sodosky Mason; and three sisters, Ms. Katy Sodosky, Ms. Victoria Sodosky Murasky and Ms. Mary Sodesky Andres.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Worship Center by the Rev. Darrell Cox, pastor, and Thomas H. McGhee, superintendent of the Western N.C. Conference of Pentecostal Holiness Churches. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home from 6 to 8 this evening and at other times at the home of Mrs. Catherine Michael, 1407 Ridgecrest Ave., Burlington.

Mrs. Lucille H. Smith
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Lucille Huffine Smith, 87, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999, at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford. She was a former resident of Elon-Ossipee Road in Elon College.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Eddie Rose Smith, and the daughter of Mr. William Wertz Huffine and Mrs. Zona Pritchard Huffine, both deceased. She was a homemaker and a member of Fairview United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Ruth Huffine Rierson of Madison; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Betty Smith Johnson.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. John Dutton, pastor of Fairview United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home from 7 to 9 this evening.
Mr. Ira D. Jones
BURLINGTON - Mr. Ira Donald “Cotton” Jones, 59, of 1330 Cloverdale St., died at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999, at the Hospice Home in Burlington after two months of failing health.
A native of Burlington, he was the son of Mr. Ira Allen Jones and Mrs. Edith Kennedy Jones, both deceased. He was a former U.S. Marine and was a member of Kinnett Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Rains of Burlington, Mrs. Jean Kearns of Greensboro and Mrs. Susan Hopkins of Morehead City; and three brothers, Mr. Max H. Jones of Elon College, Mr. Larry A. Jones of Fayetteville and Mr. Timothy L. Jones of Raleigh.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington by the Rev. Don Pegg, pastor of Kinnett Memorial Baptist Church, and the Rev. Donald Swinney. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will be at the Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 7 to 9 Friday evening.

Mrs. Lois C. Ingle
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Lois Clapp Ingle, 90, a resident of Twin Lakes Center, died at 10:35 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999, at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was a former resident of 7261 Burlington Road, Whitsett.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Lewis W. Ingle, and the daughter of Mr. Wyatt A. Clapp and Mrs. Bessie Baulding Clapp, both deceased. She was former cafeteria manager with Burlington Schools. She was a member of the First Reformed United Church of Christ where she was active in the Sunday school.
Survivors include two sons, Mr. John W. Ingle of Whitsett and Dr. Clyde R. Ingle of Laurel Springs; one sister, Mrs. Pearl McLelland of Burlington; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Walker and Mrs. Freida Wilson; and two brothers, Mr. Fred Clapp and Mr. Clyde Clapp.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the First Reformed United Church of Christ by the Rev. Phillip Myers, pastor. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will be at the Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the home of a son, Mr. John Ingle, 7261 Burlington Road, Whitsett.

Mr. Patrick S. Dineen
BURLINGTON - Mr. Patrick S. “Skip” Dineen, 53, of 2331 Pineview Drive, died at 3:06 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro after a critical illness of one week.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Sylvia Kennedy Dineen, who survives, and the son of Mrs. Elizieree Dineen of Graham and the late Mr. Bliel Moore Dineen. He was quality administrator for Purolator Products Co. and a member of Grove Park Baptist Church. He was a member of the American Motocyclist Association, Districts 29 and 13. He graduated from the Spartan School of Aerodynamics and was a licensed pilot. He was a Sports Car Clubs of America driver and a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Survivors other than his wife of the home, and his mother, include one son, Mr. Jamie Stephen Dineen of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Marion Simpson of Graham and Ms. Ann McKenzie of Burlington; and one brother, Mr. Tim Dineen of Graham.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington by Dr. Roy Taylor, pastor emeritus of Grove Park Baptist Church, and the Rev. Bennie Smith, pastor of Staley Memorial Baptist Church. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will be at the Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 7 to 9 Friday evening and at other times at the home.

Mrs. Mildred F. Hensley
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Mildred Fisher Hensley, 80, a longtime resident of Burlington, died at 12:40 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, 1999, at Alamance Health Care after one year of failing health.
A native of Cowpens, S.C., she was the daughter of Mr. Jasper Yelton Fisher and Mrs. Naomi Thomas Fisher, both deceased. She was retired from Zayre’s Department Store and was a member of Brookwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include five daughters, Ms. Steva Hensley Jones and Mrs. Mike (Annie) Scoggins, both of Burlington, Mrs. Richard (June Hensley) Armstrong of Haw River, Ms. Karen Hensley McCauley of Charleston, S.C. and Ms. Barbara Fisher Halyburton of Houston; one brother, the Rev. Alfred G. Fisher of Cowpens; and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mrs. Della Mackens, Mrs. Jessie Shyka and Mrs. Sudie Freeman; two brothers, Mr. Hayden Fisher and Mr. Colette “Bud” Fisher.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Garry Gates, associate minister at Brookwood Baptist Church. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will be at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Annie Scoggins, 2907 McKinney St., Burlington, N.C. 27217.

Mr. H. Ray Armstrong
MEBANE - Mr. Harley Ray Armstrong, 68, of 3672 Old Hillsborough Road, died at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999, at his home after three years of failing health, three weeks critical.
A native of Orange County, he was the husband of Mrs. Annie Boggs Armstrong, who survives, and the son of Mr. Thomas Martin Armstrong and Mrs. Nancy Dianah Gray Armstrong, both deceased. He was a retired textile worker and a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Swepsonville Baptist Church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include one sister, Mrs. Vergie Mae Byrd of Graham; two stepsons, Mr. Jack Webster of Asheboro and Dr. Barry Webster of Bassett, Va.; eight step grandchildren; and five great-step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Coy Gray Armstrong.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane by the Rev. Don Clements and Chaplain Mike Shannon. Burial will be in Hawfields Presbyterian Church cemetery.

Mr. Fader C. Ayers
GRAHAM - Mr. Fader Clarence Ayers, 74, a resident of Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Alamance, died at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999, at the residence after six months of failing health.
A native of Fieldale, Va., he was the husband of the late Mrs. Martha Pringle Ayers, and the son of Mr. Lewis Ayers and Mrs. Mae Barlette Ayers, both deceased.
He is survived by a brother, Mr. L.F. “Bubby” Ayers of Burlington.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Tommy Willis, pastor of Andrews Memorial Baptist Church. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 7 to 9 this evening and at other times at the home of a niece, Mrs. Becky Stidham, 2031 Fox Run Road, Burlington.
Mr. Clarence V. Clark
RANDLEMAN - Mr. Clarence V. Clark, 69, of 228 Allred Way, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999, at his home.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Sarah J. Clark, who survives. He was retired from P. Lorillard Tobacco Co. after 32 years. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Asheboro.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include three sons, Mr. Randy J. Clark of Slidell, La., Mr. Michael Clark of Burlington, and Mr. Larry Wood of Mount Airy; one daughter, Ms. Christine Nichols of Randleman; one sister, Ms. Ollie Clark Bramlett of Greenville, S.C.; and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Pugh Funeral Home in Randleman by the Rev. Max Allman. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

Mr. Ronald F. Blythe
EDEN - Mr. Ronald Francis Blythe, 53, of 107 Dillard Court, died Wednesday morning, Aug. 25, 1999, at N.C. Baptist Hospital.
A native of Greensboro, he was the son of Mr. Marion Blythe and Mrs. Virginia Blythe of Burlington. He was employed at Miller Brewing Co.
Survivors other than his parents include two daughters, Ms. Christine Michelle Blythe of the home and Ms. Angela Blythe-Jones of Graham; two sons, Mr. Gregory Alan Blythe of the home and Mr. William Jefferson “Jeff” Blythe of Burlington; two sisters, Ms. Amy Blythe Haynes of Greensboro and Ms. Margaret Blythe Adams of Burlington; one brother, Mr. Aaron Spencer Blythe of Winston-Salem; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.
