Mr. John E. Price

MILTON - Mr. John Echols Price, 72, of 143 East St., died Sunday, Sept. 28, 1997, at his home.
Born April 14, 1925, in Dry Fork, Va., he was the husband of Mrs. Katie Stewart Price, who survives, and the son of Mr. Weldon Price and Mrs. Marie Price, both deceased.
He was a former employee of Milton Shell Service Station.
Survivors, other than his wife of the home, include a daughter, Mrs. Mary Ann Miller of Pottstown, Pa.; three sons, Mr. John Price, Jr. and Mr. James Price, both of Milton, and Mr. Lee Price of Pottstown; seven brothers, Mr. George Price, Mr. Preston Price, Mr. Butch Price and Mr. Marvin Price, all of Danville, Va., Mr. Robert "Geech" Price of Yanceyville, Mr. James Price and Mr. Boysaw Price, both of Baltimore; six sisters, Mrs. Carolyn McCaden of Baltimore, Mrs. Eva Anderson of Silver Spring, Md., Mrs. Ruth Tucker, Ms. Clara Price, Ms. May Price and Ms. Rosetta Price, all of Danville; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Macedonia A.M.E. Church, by the Rev. Clyde Long.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at Fulton Funeral Home, from 7 to 8 Friday evening, and at other times, at the home.

Ms. Annie Mae Daye

BURLINGTON - Ms. Annie Mae Daye, 95, of 508 Maple Ave., died at 7:58 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997, at her home after several months of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of Mr. Charlie B. Daye and Mrs. Sally Haith Daye, both deceased.
She was employed at the former Ward Hotel.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Louise D. Burgess of the home; four sons, Mr. Charlie William Daye of Pennsylvania, Mr. Willie "Lil Bro" Daye of Burlington, Mr. Robert Lewis "Butch" Daye and Mr. William "Big Bro" Daye, both of the home; a brother, Mr. Frank "Shine" Daye of Burlington; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Peggie Daye Booker; and two sons, Mr. Eddie "June" Daye and Mr. Robert "Pete" Daye.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Hargett and Bryant Funeral Home Chapel, by the Rev. William J. Holt.
Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
The family will be at Hargett and Bryant Funeral Home, from 5 to 6 Saturday afternoon, and at other times, at the home.

Mrs. Marian L. Wilson

SOUTHPORT - Mrs. Marian Lesko Wilson, 82, formerly of Burlington, died at 2:10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 1997, at Ocean Trail Convalescent Center in Southport.
A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the wife of the late Mr. Reginald S. Wilson and the daughter of Mr. Stanley Lesko and Mrs. Ophelia Bezubik Lesko, both deceased.
She was a member of the Eastern Star.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Burlington.
Survivors include two sons, Mr. John Wilson of Rosamond, Calif., and Mr. Frank Wilson of La Vergne, Tenn.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Pine Hill Cemetery by Dr. Charles Williams, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Burlington.
The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington, one hour before the service.

Mr. D.V. Pike, Jr.

SILER CITY - Mr. D.V. Pike, Jr., 78, of 7788 Silk Hope-Liberty Road, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997, at Country Forest Manor.
A native of Chatham County, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Dorothy White Pike.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a charter member of Silk Hope Ruritan Club.
He attended Guilford College and was retired from Beaman Corp. in Liberty.
He was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class, where he was a Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include two sons, Mr. Phillip Michael Pike of Siler City, and Mr. Donald Lee Pike of Carthage; two daughters, Ms. Phyllis P. Haga and Ms. Bonnie P. Albright, both of Siler City; two brothers, Mr. Phryne P. Pike of Siler City, and Mr. Carter Ingle Pike of Asheboro; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, at Rocky River Friends Meeting, by the Rev. David K. Hobson and the Rev. Gerald Pike.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Phyllis P. Haga, 7895 Silk Hope-Liberty Road, Siler City.
Memorials may be made to Rocky River Friends Permanent Cemetery Fund, c/o Mary Arrington, 1100 Ben Smith Road, Siler City, N.C. 27344.
Smith and Buckner Funeral Home in Siler City, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Richard Whitted

HILLSBOROUGH - Mr. Richard "Chink" Whitted, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997, at his home.
Born March 16, 1911, in Orange County, he was the son of Mr. John Page Whitted and Mrs. Julia Harris Whitted, both deceased.
He was retired from the Orange County School System and was a member of Lipscombe Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include eight daughters, Ms. Lucy Henderson of Kittrell, Ms. Virgie Wilson of Baltimore, Ms. Joyce Crisp and Ms. Tanya Whitted, both of Mebane, Ms. Arlena Fuller of Cedar Grove, Ms. Josephine Johnson of Burlington, and Ms. Iome Whitted and Ms. Pamela Whitted, both of Hillsborough; two sons, Mr. Carlton "Pete" Whitted of Hillsborough, and Mr. John Page Whitted of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Ms. Mary Scarlett of Durham; a brother, Mr. George Whitted of Hillsborough; and many grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Lipscombe Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. T.E. Taylor and the Rev. Reginal Burnette. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at Lipscombe Baptist Church from 7 to 8:30 this evening.
Chavis-Parker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Joseph V. Gaspard
GRAHAM - Mr. Joseph Victor Gaspard, 70, of 1543 Moore's Chapel Cemetery Road, died at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 1997, at his home after two years of failing health.
A native of Alexandria, La., he was the husband of Mrs. Helen Ray Gaspard, who survives, and the son of Mr. Edgar Gaspard and Mrs. Gladys O'Briant Gaspard, both deceased.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was a retired telecommunications supervisor.
He was Catholic.
Survivors, other than his wife of the home, include a daughter, Ms. Vicki Paul of Pineville, La.; a sister, Ms. Patricia Smith of Pineville; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Pineville.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, P.O. Box 2122, Burlington, N.C. 27216-2122.
McClure Funeral Home in Graham, is in charge of local arrangements.

Mrs. Jean W. Hundley

DANVILLE, Va. - Mrs. Jean Willis Hundley, 64, of 1957 Blair Loop Road, died Thursday morning, Oct. 2, 1997, at her home, after several months of failing health.
Born Sept. 5, 1933, in Floyd County, Va., she was the wife of the Rev. Gilmore Hundley, who survives, and Mr. James Edward McDaniel, Sr., who died July 2, 1965.
She was the daughter of Mrs. Fannie Young Willis Stout, who survives, and the late Mr. Thomas Lee Willis.
She had spent most of her life in Danville, and Pittsylvania County.
She worked for the Danville Public School System and was previously co-owner of Hundley's Body Shop.
She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, where she was a member of the ladies circle.
Survivors, other than her husband of the home, and mother of Danville, include a daughter, Ms. Wanda Gail Hodges of Danville; a son, Mr. James Edward McDaniel of Danville; four sisters, Ms. Betty W. Bray of Cascade, Va., Ms. Nelda W. Harris of Gatewood, Ms. Shirley W. Robinson of Baltimore and Ms. Glenda W. Myers of New York; two brothers, the Rev. Tommy Willis of Graham, and Mr. Elmer Willis of Cascade; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ms. Jean Levonne Warner.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, at Shermont Baptist Church, by the Rev. Bill Soyars and the Rev. Tommy Willis.
Burial will be in the Hundley family cemetery.
The family will be at the home.
Swicegood Funeral Home in Danville is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Winona B. Boyd

PLYMOUTH - Mrs. Winona B. Boyd, 88, of 1206 E. Main St., died Friday morning, Oct. 3, 1997, at Britthaven Nursing Home in Goldsboro, after a long illness.
Born Nov. 2, 1908, in Plymouth, she was the wife of Mr. Carl White, who died in 1950, and Mr. Melvin H. Boyd, who died in 1963.
She was the daughter of Mr. George William Bowen and Mrs. Matilda Bateman Bowen, both deceased.
She operated Winona's Beauty Shop at her home and was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Ms. Iris W. Hoke of Burlington; three brothers, Mr. Robert Ellwood Bowen of Southern Pines, Mr. William Ervin Bowen of Williamsburg, Va., and Mr. Earl Grayson Bowen of Martinsville, Va.; a sister, Ms. Della Elizabeth Gregory of Baton Rouge, La.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Hillside Memorial Gardens, by the Rev. Richard Flowers.
Memorials may be made to the Memorial Fund of First Christian Church, P.O. Box 97, Plymouth, N.C. 27962.
Horner-Walker Funeral Home of Plymouth, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Floyd J. Graves

BURLINGTON - Mr. Floyd J. Graves, 73, of 810 Williams St., died at 12:15 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 1997, at Alamance Health Care after a long illness.
A native of Caswell County, he was the husband of Mrs. Hannah Talley Graves, who survives, and the son of Mr. Floyd Graves, Sr. and Mrs. Pearl Paul Graves, both deceased.
He was a self-employed brick mason.
Survivors other than his wife include two sons, Mr. Ronnie L. Boswell of Rochester, N.Y., and Mr. Floyd Graves of Chapel Hill.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mr. James Alvis Graves.
The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday, at Sharpe Memorial Chapel, by the Rev. Harrold Carr, pastor of Mount Zion Congregational Church.
Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
The family will be at Sharpe Memorial Chapel 30 minutes before the service, and at other times, at the home of Mrs. Mary G. Woods, 723 N. Fisher St., Burlington.

Joclyne A. Burnette

BURLINGTON - Joclyne Angel Burnette, infant daughter of Mrs. Melissa Sue Robertson of 2403 Berkeley Road, and Mr. Harvey Lee Burnette, Jr. of Burlington, died at 11:23 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
She was a native of Orange County.
Survivors other than her mother of the home and father of Burlington, include maternal grandparents, Mrs. Debra Johnson of Macon, Ga. and Mr. James Marshall Robertson, Sr. of Burlington; paternal grandparents, Mr. Harvey Lee Burnette, Sr. and Mrs. Mexie Christine Marsh of Siler City; and paternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Valerie Robertson of Reidsville.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, at Alamance Memorial Park by the Rev. David Jackson.
The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Graham, from 1:30 to 2:30 Sunday afternoon, and at other times, the home.
