Mr. Gary Nunnalley Jr.
REIDSVILLE - Mr. Gary Nunnalley Jr., 54, of 650 Long Road, died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Durham.
Born Nov. 23, 1943, in Portsmouth, Va., he was the husband of Mrs. Rosa Long Nunnalley, who survives, and the son of the late Mr. Gary Nunnalley Sr. and Mrs. Lucy Thorpe Nunnalley, both deceased. He was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church, was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of American Legion Post No. 210.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Nunnalley Fuller of Reidsville; a brother, Mr. Thomas W. Nunnalley of Greensboro; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Red Hill Baptist Church by the Rev. Gregory Hopkins. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at Fulton Funeral Home in Yanceyville from 7 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the home.
Mrs. Julia R. Linster
HILLSBOROUGH - Mrs. Julia Bell Russell Linster, 57, died Tuesday, Jan., 6, 1998, at UNC Hospitals.
She was the daughter of Mr. Thomas Russell and Mrs. Osea Walton Russell, both deceased.
Survivors include a daughter, Ms. Tammy Russell Williamson of Durham; three sons, Mr. Thomas Linster III of the home, Mr. Darryl D. Linster of Hillsborough and Mr. Jerome Linster of Durham; two sisters, Ms. Lillian Willis of San Bernardino, Calif., and Ms. Rena Jones of Pleasant Grove; two brothers, Mr. Thomas Russell of California and Mr. Joseph Rainey of Hillsborough; and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Mount Bright Baptist Church by the Rev. G.I. Allison, pastor. Burial will be in Hillsborough City Cemetery.

Mr. Jack E. Steele Sr.
BURLINGTON - Mr. Jack Edwin Steele Sr., 88, died at 8:10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a critical illness of two weeks.
A native of Rock Hill, S.C., he was the husband of the late Mrs. Juanita Ephland Steele, and the son of Mr. William Thomas Steele Sr. and Mrs. Nancy Alice Hough Steele, both deceased. He was retired from Duke Power Company after 48 years of service. He was a charter member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Mr. Jack E. Steele Jr. of Columbia, S.C., and Mr. C. Thomas Steele Sr. of Burlington; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five sisters, Miss Marian Evelina Steele, Mrs. Della Estelle Steele Crenshaw, Mrs. Ethel Mae Steele Bailey, Mrs. Mary Jane Steele Shearin and Mrs. Eudora Vasti Steele White; and three brothers, Mr. William Thomas Steele Jr., Mr. John William Steele and Mr. Charles Herbert Steele.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church by the Rev. Skip Williams, pastor. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mr. Sammie M. Stultz
ELON COLLEGE - Mr. Sammie Martin Stultz, 74, of 1824 Chandler St., died at 11:50 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after one month of failing health.
A native of Union County, S.C., he was the husband of Mrs. Faye Mullis Stultz, who survives, and the son of Mr. Clarence Stultz and Mrs. Elsie Revels Stultz. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a tailgunner in the B-29 that flew the first mission off Saipan in the Pacific Theater, later flying a total of 35 missions. He was retired from Western Electric Corp. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and was a Baptist.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a son, Mr. Douglas Calvin Stultz of the home.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mr. S. Ronnie Stultz; one sister, Mrs. Mildred Lindsey; and one brother, Mr. Clarence J. Stultz.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington by the Rev. Randy Hobbs, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.

GRAHAM - Mr. Paul H. 'Blackie' Stubbs, 69, of 1264-C Shoreline Trail, died at 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 1998, at his home after two years of failing health, five weeks critical.
A native of Robeson County, he was the husband of Mrs. Alice Crayton Stubbs, who survives, and the son of Mr. James Boyd Stubbs and Mrs. Dorothy Leach Stubbs Springer, both deceased. He was a retired truck driver. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Elks Club and Christ Memorial Christian Church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Brenda) Jewell of Beaufort, Mrs. Jonathan (Paula) Crowfoot of Burlington and Ms. Bonnie G. Stubbs of Clayton; a son, Mr. Tommy H. Stubbs of Graham; a sister, Mrs. Dottie Howe of Syracuse, N.Y.; a brother, Mr. James B. Stubbs of Burlington; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

GRAHAM - Mrs. Maude Holt Thompson of 3922 Mt. Hermon-Rock Creek Road, died Friday afternoon, Jan. 9, 1998, at Alamance Health Care Center.

Mr. Thomas Riley Sr.
ALAMANCE - Mr. Thomas Franklin Riley Sr., 67, of 2947 Cabin Road, died at 5:25 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, 1998, at Duke University Medical Center after three years of failing health.
A native of Wake County, he was the husband of Mrs. Jean Councilman Riley, who survives, and the son of Mr. James Franklin Riley and Mrs. Lila Coley Riley, both deceased. He was formerly employed by Associated Transport and was retired from Burlington Industries. He was a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Zula) Hinshaw of Liberty; a son, Mr. Thomas Franklin Riley Jr. of Alamance; a sister, Mrs. Jim (Betsy) Fogleman of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Phillip Riley.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Reformed United Church of Christ by the Rev. Phillip Myers, pastor. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Entombment will be in Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum.

MAYODAN - Mrs. Annie Mills Williams, 89, of Mount Villa Apartments, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 1998, at Morehead Hospital.
A native of Henry County, Va., she was retired from Washington Mills. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Mayodan for 50 years.
Survivors include a son, Mr. Charles W. Williams of Madison; a daughter, Ms. Sondra W. Carter of Burlington; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church of Mayodan. Burial will be in Mayodan Municipal Cemetery.

Mr. Luther T. Wiley
MEBANE - Mr. Luther Thaddeus Wiley of 708 N. Carr St., died Wednesday, Jan., 7, 1998, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill after several years of failing health.
A native of Orange County, he was the husband of Mrs. Norma Jean Edwards Wiley, who survives. He was employed with Erwin Mills for many years. He was a member of Lattisville Grove Baptist Church in Hurdle Mills.
Survivors other than his wife include four sons, Mr. Thaddeus Wiley Jr. of Waldorf, Md., Mr. Terry Wiley, Mr. Ronald Wiley and Mr. Randy Wiley, all of Durham; three daughters, Ms. Phyllis Wiley, Ms. Sharon Wiley and Ms. Angela W. Pettiford, all of Durham; five sisters, Mrs. Jennie Bee Crawford and Mrs. Bessie Haith, both of Burlington, Mrs. Nancy Day of Hillsborough, Mrs. Patty Faulkner of Leasburg and Mrs. Callie Mae Snipes of Mebane; four brothers, Mr. James Wiley of Mebane, Mr. William Wiley of Roxboro, Mr. Ollie Wiley Jr. and Mr. Robert Wiley, both of Burlington; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

GRAHAM - Mr. Edgar Warren Taylor, 78, of 505 Washington St., died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998, at his home after four years of failing health.
A native of Randolph County, he was the husband of Mrs. Ava Faulkner Taylor, who survives, and the son of Mr. Henry J. Taylor and Mrs. Luna Hassel Massey, both deceased. He was a retired automobile body repairman and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include three sons, Mr. Melvin Taylor of Snow Camp, Mr. Jerry Taylor of Virginia Beach, Va., and Mr. Billy Taylor of Norfolk, Va.; three daughters, Mrs. Sylvia Price of Columbia, S.C., Mrs. Jennifer Moore of Elgin, S.C., and Mrs. Jenny Gail Carson of Lawrenceville, Ga.; two brothers, the Rev. Dallas Taylor of Burlington and Mr. James Henry Taylor of Atlanta; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Lee Groce of Graham, Mrs. Eula Clayton of Glen Raven and Mrs. Louise Burgess of Mebane; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
