Mrs. Lee H. Boley
GRAHAM - Mrs. Annie Lee Henderson Boley, 85, of 1825 Saxapahaw-Bethelehem Church Road, died at 3:15 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 1997, at her home after six months of failing health and a critical illness of one month.
A native of Cocke County, Tenn., she was the wife of the late Mr. Orval A. Boley, and the daughter of Mr. Joseph Henderson and Mrs. Susie Grooms Henderson, both deceased. She was retired from Sellars Manufacturing Company. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include one daughter, Ms. Joyce Boley of the home; three sons, Mr. Charles J. Boley of Snow Camp, Mr. Joseph H. Boley and Mr. Roger D. Boley, both of Graham; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Moore's Chapel cemetery by the Rev. Arnold Faw, pastor of Saxapahaw Evangelical Friends Church.
The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 7 to 9 this evening.
Mrs. Dixie A. Johnson
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Dixie Avis Johnson of 1987 Hilton Road, died at 5:55 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 1997, at Alamance Health Care after five years of failing health, four days critical.
A native of Chatham County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Joe Alton Johnson Sr., and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Will Thomas, both deceased. She was retired from the hosiery industry, and a member of Andrews Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mary Jo Crenshaw of Raleigh and Ms. Peggy Johnson of Florida; one son, Mr. Joe Johnson of Graham; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Andrews Memorial Baptist Church by Dr. Tommy Willis. Burial will be in the Mount Olive Baptist Church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 this evening at McClure Funeral Home in Graham.

Mr. Lamar R. Wilson
BURLINGTON - Mr. Lamar Reynolds Wilson, 80, a resident of Pleasant Grove Retirement Home, died at 2:15 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 1997, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. He was a former resident of Wilkins Street.
A native of Monticello, Ga., he was the husband of the late Mrs. Mary Elmore Wilson, and the son of Mr. Lucius Leon Wilson and Mrs. Minnie Reynolds Wilson, both deceased. He was a retired painting contractor and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include one son, Mr. Lucius Reynolds Wilson of Burlington; a stepdaughter, Mrs. May P. Savage of Atlantic Beach; one sister, Mrs. Dorothy 'Dot' Morris of Villa Rica, Ga.; 10 step grandchildren and 12 great-step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Mrs. Elsie Payne Pinnix; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Turner and Mrs. Mildred Lawrence; and four brothers, Mr. Roby Wilson, Mr. Lowery Wilson, Mr. Jack Wilson and Mr. Roy Wilson.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington by the Rev. Michael Brown. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will be at the Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, and at other times at the home of the son, Mr. Lucius Wilson, 709 Edinburgh Court, Burlington.
Mrs. Nellie N. Ellington
GRAHAM - Mrs. Nellie Newton Ellington, 83, of 1012 Townbranch Road, Apt. 1F, died at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 1997, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after two years of failing health.
A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Donald McIver Ellington and the daughter of Mr. Robert Lee Newton and Mrs. Thelma Lowe Newton, both deceased. She was retired from Burlington Industries, and was a member of Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Rebecca Gail Moseley of Charleston, S.C.; two sons, Mr. Robert Eugene Ellington of Hopewell, Va. and Mr. William Lewis Ellington of Burlington; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Ferrier of Spring Hill, Fla.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. R.L. 'Red' Newton.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Graham by the Rev. Frederick Bunts, pastor of Hope Baptist Church, and the Rev. Bennie Smith, pastor of Staley Memorial Baptist Church. Burial will be in Salem United Methodist Church cemetery.
The family will be at the Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Graham from 6 to 8 Monday evening, and at other times at the home of the son, Mr. William L. Ellington, 1306 Cleveland Ave., Burlington.
Mr. Ronald D. Nixon Sr.
EFLAND - Mr. Ronald Dewey Nixon Sr., 46, of 2511 Mount Willing Road, died Friday, Dec. 12, 1997, at his home.
A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of Mrs. Trenis Pender Nixon who survives, and the son of Mrs. Nola Johnson of Greensboro and the late Mr. Hugh Cyrus Nixon.
Survivors other than his wife and his mother include three sons, Mr. Justin Nixon and Mr. Jeremy Nixon, both of Greensboro, and Mr. Ron Nixon Jr. of the home; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Crystal Castle Elmore of Efland and Miss Amberly Castle of the home; and one sister, Mrs. Gail Poole of Charlotte.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday at Chestnut Ridge United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jay Bissett, pastor.
The family will be at the church following the service.

Mr. John T. Tate
EFLAND - Mr. John Thomas Tate 76 of 7404 Harmony Church Road died at 9:40 p.m. Thursday Dec. 11 1997, at Chapel Hill Health Center in Chapel Hill after a long illness. Born June 6, 1921, in Orange County, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Edna Inola Brooks Tate, and the son of Mr. John Tate and Mrs. Mattie Maude Pentecost Tate, both deceased. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 94th Infantry. He was a retired farmer and textile worker. He attended Mount Zion Christian Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Ms. Gail T. Smith and Ms. Brenda Ward, both of Efland, and Ms. Linda Simpson of Roxboro; three sisters, Ms. Betty Laws of Hillsborough, Ms. Ruby Terry of Mebane and Ms. Mazie Blalock of Elfand; two brothers, Mr. Dan Tate of Mebane and Mr. Maxie Tate of Graham; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Kenneth 'Kent' Tate.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mount Zion Christian Church cemetery by the Rev. John Boland.
The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane from 7 to 8:30 this evening, and at other times at the home of a daughter, Ms. Gail Smith, 4801 Gails Trail, Efland.
Mr. Andre Thompson
BURLINGTON - Mr. Andre Thompson of 317 Key St. died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 1997.
A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of Mrs. Norma Miles Canty, who survives, and the late Mr. Charlie 'Jimmy' Thompson. He was formerly employed by Annadeen and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was a member of Arches Grove United Church of Christ, where he was a co-founder of the Junior Usher Board.
Survivors other than his mother of Brooklyn, include foster mother, Mrs. Judy T. Pickard; two sisters, Mrs. Barbara P. Freeman of Brooklyn and Mrs. Jerry P. Taylor of Burlington; and five brothers, Mr. Michael Snipes of Marietta, Ga., Mr. James Day, Mr. Daniel Day, Mr. Terrence Canty and Mr. Thaddus Canty, all of Brooklyn.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Charles Thompson Jr.; and two sisters, Ms. Deborah Bolding and Ms. Patty Denise Day.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Arches Grove United Church of Christ, by the Rev. William H. Carr, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at Sharpe Memorial Chapel from 7 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the home.
Mrs. Viola R. Ireland
SOUTHERN PINES - Mrs. Viola Ringwald Ireland, 90, of Penick Home, formerly of Parkview Drive, died at 11:21 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 1997, at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
A native of Memphis, Tenn., she was the wife of the late Mr. John Rich Ireland II, and the daughter of Mr. Theodore Earl Ringwald and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Lyon Ringwald, both deceased. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter.
Survivors include a son, Mr. John Rich Ireland III of Ligonier, Pa.; and two grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Pine Hill cemetery by the Rev. David Williams, rector of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter.
The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 Sunday evening.
Mrs. Mary I. Robinson
MEBANE - Mrs. Mary Irene Robinson, 74, of 7201 U.S. 70 East, died Friday, Dec. 12, 1997, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a long illness.
A native of New Jersey, she was the wife of Mr. George C. Robinson, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. Matteno Mantal Bano and Mrs. Annie Guardino Bano, both deceased. She was retired from Holt Manufacturing Company in Burlington. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Burlington.
Survivors other than her husband of the home include a daughter, Mrs. Betty Christopher of Haw River; a son, Mr. Roland George Robinson of Salisbury; three sisters, Mrs. Betty Rohrer and Mrs. Lillian Quercia, both of Port Richie, Fla., and Mrs. Ann Petrunti of Parmas, N.J.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
A funeral Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by the Rev. Terry Pescatorre. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

BURLINGTON - Mrs. Annie Mae L. Jones, 74, of 507 Everett St., Burlington Homes, died at 11:10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 1997, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several years of failing health.
A native of Chatham County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Lonnie 'L.C.' Clarence Jones Jr., and the daughter of Mr. Edgar Bailey Lambe and Mrs. Nannie Kidd Lambe, both deceased. She was retired from Annedeen Hosiery and attended Powerline Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include a son, Mr. Darryl C. Jones of Jamestown; and two sisters, Mrs. Ila L. Clark of Burlington and Mrs. Mildred C. Crawford of Graham.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ms. Katie Mitchell and a brother, Mr. Hal Lambe.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pine Hill cemetery by the Rev. Darryl Kroeze.
The family will be at the home of a sister, Mrs. Ila M. Clark, 2110 Maple Ave., Burlington.

ABBEVILLE, S.C. - Mr. Walter Putman 'Putt' Clark, 76, of 70 Oak Drive, died Friday, Dec. 12, 1997, at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood.
A native of Abbeville, he was the husband of Mrs. Frances Young Clark, who survives, and the son of Mr. Walter Lee Clark and Mrs. Della Putman Clark, both deceased. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a retired employee of Abbeville Mills. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a sister, Ms. Peggy Clark Gable of Burlington.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Chandler Chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Abbeville. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
