Mrs. Annie McCaden
YANCEYVILLE - Mrs. Annie Bell Brown McCaden of 216 Suncrest Apartments died Thursday, Dec. 4, 1997.
A native of Caswell County, she was the wife of Mr. Tony McCaden, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. John Henry Brown and Mrs. Fannie Bowe Brown, both deceased. she was a member of Yanceyville Missionary Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Survivors other than her husband of the home include three daughters, Mrs. Deloris M. Johnson, Ms. Gladys McCaden and Mrs. Joyce M. Southern, all of Yancyeville; a stepson, Mr. Leonza Graves of Reidsville; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Yanceyville Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. Cephus Lea. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at Fulton Funeral Home from 7 to 8 Sunday evening, and at other times at the home.
Mrs. Joanna R. Sims
ERWIN - Mrs. Joanna Rosser Sims, 29, of 302 13th St. died at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 1997, in Harnett County.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Mr. Andrew H. Sims, who survives, and the daughter of the Rev. James L. Rosser and Mrs. Jewelle Bass Rosser, who survive. She was a registered nurse and was a member of Haw River Christian Church.
Survivors other than her husband of the home and parents of Graham include a daughter, Miss Lindsay Sims of the home; a son, Mr. Colton Sims of the home; a sister, Mrs. Beth Rosser Smith of Graham; a brother, Mr. James L. Rosser Jr. of Greensboro; and paternal grandmother, Mrs. Nancy Rosser of Sanford.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Haw River Christian Church by Dr. Fred Treadwell, the Rev. Phil Hardy, the Rev. Richard Myers and Mr. Kevin Hunter. Burial will be in Graham Memorial Park.
The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 6 to 9 Friday evening, and at other times at the home of the parents, 530 Rockwood Drive, Graham.
Mr. James D. Pegram
BELLAIRE, Texas - Mr. James Darrell Pegram, 57, of 7502 Ave. B, died at 10:36 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 1997, in New Braunfels, Texas.
A native of Iredell County, he was the husband of Mrs. Sedonia Pegram, who survives, and the son of Mrs. Reta Pegram Violette, who survives, and the late Mr. James Wiley Pegram. He was an architect and was a member of Hocutt Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home and mother of Burlington include two sons, Mr. Joseph Wiley Pegram and Mr. Jaime Edward Pegram, both of the home; and a sister, Mrs. Nola Pegram Duffy of Houston.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington by the Rev. E. Al Roberts. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary following the service.
Mr. Elwood Farrell
BURLINGTON - Mr. Elwood Farrell, 85, of 2106 Maple Ave., died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 1997, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after three years of failing health, two days critical.
A native of Chatham County, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Catherine Wicker Farrell, and the son of Mr. Cicero Farrell and Mrs. Mary Lizzie Farrell, both deceased. He was retired from Burlington Industries and worked for Splawn's Tool Shop. He was a member of Eastlawn Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon and was a member of the Men's II Sunday school class.
Survivors include a son, Mr. Larry Farrell of Danville, Va.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Michael David Farrell.
The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Harold Ball, former pastor of Eastlawn Baptist Church, and the Rev. Vernon Lewis, interim pastor of Eastlawn Baptist Church. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home from 7 to 9 Friday evening, and at other times at the home.

Mr. Major G. Wells Jr.
BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Mr. Major Graham Wells Jr., 50, of 1432 Pickens Ave., died Sunday, Nov. 30, 1997, in New York.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Mary Bass Wells, who survives, and the son of Mr. Major G. Wells Sr. and Mrs. Charlotte Upsher Wells, both deceased. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Ms. Samantha Wells of Brooklyn; and two brothers, Mr. Sandy Wells of West Virginia and Mr. Asbury Wells of Baltimore.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hargett and Bryant Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. J. Eugene Gant. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
The family will be at Hargett and Bryant Funeral home one hour before the service, and at other times at the home of an aunt, Mrs. Della M. Browning, 302 Apple St., Burlington.
Mr. Clyde H. Pettiford
BURLINGTON - Mr. Clyde Hudson Pettiford, 68, of 2968 Pleasant Grove Union School Road, died at 3 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 1997, at the Brian Center of Yanceyville after an illness of several months.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Mabel Pettiford, and the son of Mr. James Henry Pettiford and Mrs. Rebecca Jeffries Pettiford, both deceased.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Vina D. Thompson of Altamahaw; a son, Mr. Freddie Dixon of Mebane; a sister, Mrs. Ruth P. Bostic of Philadelphia; a brother, Mr. Elmer Pettiford of the home; and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hargett and Bryant Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Rainey Enoch. Burial will be in Snow Hill Church cemetery.
The family will be at Hargett and Bryant Funeral Home one hour before the service.
Mrs. Sue W. Ledbetter
WENDELL - Mrs. Adelaide Sue Wall Ledbetter, 82, of 84 Hanor Lane, Apt. A-102, formerly of Burlington, died at 2:17 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
A native of Henrietta, she was the wife of the late Mr. Thomas Baxter Ledbetter, and the daughter of Mr. Hardaway P. Wall and Mrs. Pearl M. Wall Wall, both deceased. She was a retail sales clerk for Belk Beck in Burlington and was a member of First Baptist Church of Burlington.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Freida L. Starke of Richmond, Va., and Mrs. Belinda C. Womack of Raleigh; two sisters, Mrs. Mary D. Greenway of Elizabeth City and Mrs. Hazel M. Snow of Greenville, S.C.; seven granchildren; and five great-grandchidren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ms. Hilda A. Stowe; and two brothers, Mr. Cecil H. Wall and Mr. Rohe P. Wall.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel at First Baptist Church of Burlington by Dr. Dale O. Steele, pastor of Penelope Baptist Church in Hickory, and the Rev. Glenn Greenway of Elizabeth City. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the serivce. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will be in the chapel from 1 to 1:45 Friday afternoon.

Mr. Willie F. Warren
CORONA, N.Y. - Mr. Willie Frank Warren, 69, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 1997, in Corona after a long illness.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Alberta Warren, who survives, and the son of Mr. Thomas Warren and Mrs. Polly Bradsher Warren, both deceased.
Survivors other than his wife of Burligton include two sons, Mr. Willie Warren and Mr. Larry Warren, both of Burlington; a daughter, Ms. Rosie Ann Warren of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three brothers, Mr. Al Warren of Burlington, Mr. John Warren of Flushing, N.Y., and Mr. Robert Warren of Corona; five sisters, Mrs. Ruth Pulliam of Burlington, Mrs. Ruby Russell of Yanceyville, Mrs. Catherine Thurmond of Addison, Ill., Mrs. Rosa McDougal of Maywood, Ill., and Mrs. Ora Warren of Corona.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at Sharpe Memorial Chapel by the Rev. Robert Vanhook. Burial will be in Sweet Gum Grove Church cemetery.
Mrs. Hazel B. Coffey
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Hazel Badgett Coffey, 77, of 611 Atwater St., died Sunday evening, Nov. 30, 1997, at her home.
A native of Surry County, she was the wife of Mr. Lynn Allen Coffey, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. Thomas Lafayette Badgett and Mrs. Mary Moser Badgett, both deceased. She was a member of the Burlington Assembly of God.
Survivors other than her husband of the home include a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Harrill of Charlotte.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ms. Mary Anne Coffey; three sisters, Mrs. Lula B. Needham, Mrs. Yvonne B. Hodge and Mrs. Alma B. Waddell; and three brothers, Mr. Jess Badgett, Mr. George Badgett and Mr. Clive Badgett.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Burlington Assembly of God by Dr. Howard Thompson, pastor, and the Rev. L.C. Troxler, associate pastor. Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem, Va.

Mr. Gustave Lehr
GRAHAM - Mr. Gustave Andrew Lehr, 82, of B-5 Cates Circle died at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 1997, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after three years of failing health.
A native of New Jersey, he was the husband of Mrs. Christine Florence Lassiter Lehr, who died in 1994. He was a member of the Merchant Marine during World War II and was retired from Webco Finishing.
There are no immediate survivors.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Blanch Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 7 to 8 Friday evening.
Mrs. Mary Clements
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Mary Moon Clements, 73, of 323 Bidney Drive, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 1997, at her home.
A native of Elberton County, Ga., she was the wife of the late Mr. Jack Thomas Clements Sr., and the daughter of Mr. James Moon and Mrs. Louise Tolbert Moon, both deceased. She was retired from Kayser-Roth and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Graham.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. J.W. (Mary) 'Chippy' Allen and Mrs. Jerry (Brenda) Watkins, both of Burlington; one son, Mr. John Thomas Clements Jr. of Tifton, Ga.; two brothers, Mr. James Edward Moon of Burlington and Mr. Hugh D. Moon of Sylva; four grandchildren; three step grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Mr. Alvin Moon.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Bethel Baptist Church. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
