Mrs. Mary Shambley
DURHAM - Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Mills Shambley, 73, of 807 S. Duke St. died Thursday, Nov. 13, 1997, at Treyburn Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.
A native of Duplin County, she was the daughter of Mr. William Mills and Mrs. Lacy Mills, both deceased. She grew up in Mebane.
Survivors include a son, Mr. W. Kent Murray of Hillsborough; a daughter, Mrs. Alfred K. (JoAnn) Patterson Jr. of Efland; and five grandchildren.
There will be a private memorial service.
Memorials may be made to any public library.
The Cremation Society of the Carolinas is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Paul K. Cox
ASHEBORO - Mr. Paul Kritz Cox, 84, of 506 Mount Cross St., died Monday, Nov. 17, 1997, at Clapps Convalescent Nursing Home.
He was married
to Mrs. Jessie Redding Cox, who survives. He was retired from Nance Chevrolet, and was a charter member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1159. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors other than his wife include one son, Mr. Kritz Cox of Burlington; one brother, Mr. Joe Robert Cox of Asheboro; one sister, Ms. Beulah L. Clark of Asheboro; and one grandchild.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church cemetery in Randleman with military honors by the Rev. William Christopher Thore.
The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro from 7 to 9 Tuesday evening.
Mrs. Luevanua Latta
HILLSBOROUGH - Mrs. Luevanua Walker Latta, 79, a former resident of Detroit, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1998, in Hillsborough.
Born Oct. 29, 1919, in Dallas, she was the wife of the late Mr. Eddie Latta. She was a member of St. Bernard's Church in Detroit and was affiliated with Mount Bright Baptist Church. She made her home in Hillsborough with her niece, Ms. Nannie Latta Richmond, who survives.
Survivors include a daughter, Ms. Brenda Faye Russell of Seymore, Texas.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Mount Bright Baptist Church by the Rev. G.I. Allison. Burial will be in Lattisville Grove Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mr. Dock D. Smith
BURLINGTON - Mr. Dock David Smith, 65, of 712 Rauhut St., died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998, at his home after a critical illness of several weeks.
A native of Person County, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Sally Poole Smith and the son of Mr. Grant Smith and Mrs. Dora Swann Smith Villines, both deceased. He was a member of Mill Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Miss Glenda Smith of the home and Miss Angela Smith of Burlington; four sons, Mr. James Smith, Mr. Douglas Smith and Mr. Michael Smith, all of Burlington, and Mr. Jeffrey Smith of Durham; six sisters, Mrs. Emily Morrison and Mrs. Doretha Paylor of Leasburg, Mrs. Queen Currie of Roxboro, Mrs. Nancy Gibson of Westbury, N.Y., and Miss Maxine Villines and Miss Diane Villines of Forestville, Md.; three brothers, Mr. Wiley Villines of Philadelphia, Mr. Bernice Villines of Greensboro and Mr. Johnnie Villines of Washington, D.C.; two half sisters, Ms. Faye Brown of Cedar Grove and Ms. Pamela Ferrell of Graham; and 19 grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Warren's Chapel Baptist Church by the Rev. James Brown, pastor. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at Hargett and Bryant Funeral Home from 6 to 7 this evening, and at other times at the home.
Mrs. Ola Mae Overcash
VERNON HILLS, Ill. - Mrs. Ola Mae Holt Overcash, 70, of 10 E. Hawthorn Parkway, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1998, at her home.
Born April 12, 1927, in Salisbury, she was the wife of Mr. Raymond R. Overcash, who died Jan. 26, 1986, and the daughter of Mr. Jap Odell Holt and Mrs. Pearl May Holt, both deceased. She was a 1944 graduate of Boyden High School. She was secretary / bookkeeper for Southern Implement Company in Spencer. She was a former resident of Conway, S.C. and had lived in Vernon Hills for the past six years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Myrtle Beach, S.C., and the Woodman of the World Camp in Myrtle Beach.
Survivors include two sons, Mr. Ronald R. Overcash of Midlothian, Va. and Mr. Darrell R. Overcash of Long Grove, Ill.; two brothers, Mr. Earl Holt of Gastonia and Mr. Edward Holt of Elon College; a sister, Mrs. Ruth H. Bost of Salisbury; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Floyd Holt.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Summersett Memorial Chapel in Salisbury by the Rev. Jim Harris. Burial will be in Rowan Memorial Park.
The family will be at Summersett Funeral Home from 6 to 8:30 this evening, and at other times at the home of the sister, 180 Sides Road, Salisbury.

Miss Martha E. Askew
BURLINGTON - Miss Martha E. Askew, 82, of 1124 Gattis St., died at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998, at her home.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of Mr. John Franklin Askew and Mrs. Rosann Clark Askew, both deceased. She was a retired weaver with Cannon Mills. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Beulah Halacheff; and two brothers, Mr. Marvin Askew and Mr. Charles Askew.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Pine Hill cemetery by the Rev. Jay Kennett, Hospice chaplain.
The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 10 to 11 this morning.

Mrs. Vickey Hundley
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Vickey Campbell Hundley, 47, of 611 Piedmont Way, died at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998, at Duke University Medical Center after two years of failing heath, one week critical.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Mr. Kenneth Wayne Hundley, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. Howard Campbell and Mrs. Claudia McPherson Campbell, both deceased. She was employed by Holt Manufacturing and was a U.S. Army veteran and National Guard veteran of the Vietnam War. She was a Seventh-day Adventist.
Survivors other than her husband of the home include two sons, Mr. Eugene Edward Lynn of the home, Mr. Jerry Cochran of Manteo; a stepson, Mr. Robert Wayne Hundley of Graham; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Alicia Christine Mattherly of Haw River; two sister, Mrs. Jackie Clark of Graham and Mrs. Kay Johnson of Salisbury; two brothers, Mr. Richard Campbell and Mr. Bobby Campbell, both of Graham; and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Haw River by Elder James Rochester, pastor. Burial will be in Graham Memorial Park.
