Mrs. Margie Brannock
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Margie Dollard Brannock, 94, of Pine Haven Convalescent Center in Henderson, died at 1:45 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, at her home.

Mrs. Elizabeth Elder
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Elizabeth Cheek Elder of 1007 W. Davis St., died at 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill after a short illness.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. W. Clifton Elder, and the daughter of Mr. Edward Plummer Cheek and Mrs. Sallie Albright Cheek, both deceased. She was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She and her husband founded Elder Hosiery and Elizabeth-Meade Hosiery Mill and she was a retired hosiery executive. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Burlington.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Thomas J. (Sandra) Harper of Burlington, Mrs. Holmes (Gail) E. Harden of New Canaan, Conn., and Mrs. Frank R. (Cliffie) Warder of Columbia, S.C.; a son, Mr. James Crawford Cheek of Visalia, Calif; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church of Burlington by Dr. Charles Williams, pastor. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will be at the home from 7 to 9 Wednesday evening. The body will be placed in the home for the visitation.

Mrs. Lillian Crowder
MEBANE - Mrs. Lillian Opal Reeves Crowder, 91, of 235 Gibson Road, died at 3:23 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
A native of Rush, Ky., she was the wife of the late Mr. Ira Abel Crowder, and the daughter of Mr. Brack Pollard Reeves and Mrs. Marian 'Mammie' Banfield Reeves. She was a former nurse in Logan, W.Va. She was a teacher at Chapmanville School in Chapmanville, W.Va., and later taught at Altamahaw-Ossipee Elementary School in Elon College. She was a Seventh-Day Adventist.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Dreama) Stout of Mebane; and a grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ms. Iva Reeves and Ms. Evelyn Reeves; and two brothers, Mr. Jarrell C. Reeves and Mr. Royzell Reeves.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Forest Lawn cemetery in Pecks Mill, W.Va., by the Rev. David Jackson, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church in Graham.
The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home from 7 to 9 this evening.
Mr. James R. King
BURLINGTON - Mr. James Ronald King, 57, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, at his home.
A native of Pennsylvania, he was the husband of Mrs. Carol Barr King, who survives, and the son of Mrs. Mary Louise Finch King, who survives, and the late Mr. Cecil King. He was retired after 25 years with Xerox Corp. He served in the U.S. Air Force and attended Elon College Community Church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home and mother of Clifton Springs, N.Y., include a son, Mr. Ronald Cunningham of Canandaigua, N.Y.; and three sisters, Mrs. June Burkett and Mrs. Jorene Declerck, both of Clifton Springs, and Mrs. Joyce Horton of Newark, N.Y.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Patrick Funeral Home in Clifton Springs. Burial will be in Riverview cemetery in Clifton Springs.
The family will be at Patrick Funeral Home from 2 to 4 Wednesday afternoon and from 7 to 9 Wednesday evening.

Mr. John C. Henley
SNOW CAMP - Mr. John C. Henley, 69, of 8809 Snow Camp Road., died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, at his home.
A native of Pilot Mountain, he was the son of Mr. James T. Henley and Mrs. Flora Stout Henley, both deceased. He was retired from Chatham Novelties of Siler City and was a member of Cane Creek Friends Meeting.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cane Creek Friends cemetery by the Rev. Dale Matthews.
He is survived by cousins.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. James Henley and Mr. William Henley; and one sister, Ms. Annie W. Henley.
The family will be at Smith and Buckner Funeral Home in Siler City from 6 to 8 this evening.

BURLINGTON - Mrs. Judith Warren Williamson, 56, of 414 Bland Blvd, died at 12:28 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Govenor Moretz Jr.
MEBANE - Mr. Govenor Vance Moretz Jr., 61, of 120 Gibson Road, died at 12:50 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, at Hospice Home of Alamance-Caswell in Burlington after a short illness.
Born March 7, 1936, in Wythe County, Va., he was the son of Mr. Govenor Vance Moretz Sr. and Mrs. Lucy Hartzog Moretz, both deceased. He was a long-time employee of Lowe's Home Improvement Store in Burlington and attended Tabernacle Baptist Church in Graham.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Ida Bristow of Southern Pines, Mrs. Gladys Wiseman of Galax, Va., and Mrs. Linda Faye Isley of Mebane; and a brother, Mr. Charles M. Moretz of Mebane.
The funeral will be conducted at 7 p.m. today at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham by the Rev. Norman Fargis, pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church. A graveside service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Oakwood cemetery in Mebane.
The family will be at the funeral home following the funeral.

Mr. Melvin Smith
MEBANE - Mr. Melvin Smith, 65, of 1863 Turner Road, Lot 28, died at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, at his home.
A native of Mebane, he was the husband of Mrs. Patricia Standridge Smith, who survives, and the son of Mrs. Mattie Kirk Smith, who survives, and the late Mr. Gilbert M. Smith. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran and was the manager of Amsco Inc. of Mebane. He was a Baptist.
Survivors other than his wife of the home and mother of Mebane include two daughters, Mrs. Donna Worrell of Wilmington and Ms. Tammy Smith of Lompoc, Calif; three sons, Mr. Melvin Smith Jr. of Twenty Nine Palms, Calif., Mr. Stephen Smith of Virginia and Mr. Ricky Smith of Lompoc; two stepsons, Mr. Michael Roach and Mr. Sammy Roach, both of Burlington; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Alice Bradshaw of Florida, Mrs. Shirley S. Shambley of Efland, Mrs. Anette S. Stone of Chapel Hill and Mrs. Jeanette S. Smith of Mebane; four brothers, Mr. Gilbert M. Smith Jr. and Mr. Gerald D. Smith, both of Mebane, Mr. George E. Smith and Mr. L. Darwin Smith, both of Burlington; six grandchildren; and two step grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham. Burial will be in Graham Memorial Park.

Mrs. Dorothy K. Most
MEBANE - Mrs. Dorothy Ruth Buck Kyte Most, 80, of 1730 Foxhall Lane, died at 6:32 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 1998, at Al/-a/-mance Health Care Center in Burlington.
A native of Levels, W.Va., she was the wife of the late Mr. Vernon Most and the daughter of Mr. Roscoe Buck and Mrs. Jesse Watson Buck, both deceased.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Barbara K. Knight of Mebane; one son, Mr. Frederick L. Kyte of Berrian Springs, Mich.; and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Duda-Ruck Funeral Home in Dundalk, Md., by the Rev. Stephen Humphrey. Burial will be in Oaklawn cemetery in Baltimore.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 today and from 7 to 9 tonight at the Duda-Ruck Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cora M. Futch
ROCKY POINT - Mrs. Cora Lee Morgan Futch, 78, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center.
Born Feb. 15, 1919, in Pender County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Archie Clarence Futch, and the daughter of Mr. David Madison Morgan and Mrs. Mary Lenora Howard Morgan.
Survivors include three sons, Mr. C.D. Futch of Wilmington, Mr. William Allen Futch and Mr. David Porter Futch, both of Rocky Point; three daughters, Mrs. Claire Ramsey of Rocky Point, Mrs. Jeanette McLean of Wilmington, and Mrs. Wanda Lee Futch of Burgaw; one sister, Ms. Pearl Morgan Way of Burlington; two brothers, Mr. Willie Morgan of Harrells and Mr. Henry Morgan of Burlington; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ms. Betty F. Goldston.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Arnold Griffin. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Wilmington.

GRAHAM - Mrs. Haruko Yameda Wilkerson, 69, of 613 Keck Road, Haw River, died at 3:20 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, 1998, at the Hospice Home after three months of failing health, one month critical.
A native of Okinawa, Japan, she was the daughter of Mr. Kamado Yamada and Mrs. Matu Toni Yamada, both deceased. She was employed by Sue Lynn Hosiery and was a member of Haw River Christian Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Ms. Kathy W. Carey of Graham and Miss Yuriko Yamada of Okinawa; four sons, Mr. Donald Ray Wilkerson Jr. of Franklinton, Mr. Bobby Wilkerson of Haw River, Mr. Yoshinori Tome of Okinawa and Mr. Katuji Yamada of Tokyo; one sister, Mrs. Humiko Shiromo of Okinawa; one brother, Mr. Gisei Yamada of Okinawa; and 10 grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Haw River Christian Church by the Rev. James L. Rosser, pastor. Burial will be in Graham Memorial Park.

GRAHAM - Mr. Griffin William Goodman, 62, of 510 Elm St., died at 9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several years of failing health and a critical illness of four days.
A native of Alamance County, he was the son of Mr. John William Goodman and Mrs. Alice Hensley Goodman, both deceased. He was a painter.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Gwendolyn Faye Jeffries and Ms. Brenda Eileen Goodman, both of Burlington, and Ms. Sandra Goodman of Graham; two sons, Mr. William F. Goodman of Burlington and Mr. Thomas Lynn Barnwell of Leland; one sister, Ms. Virginia Goodman of New Jersey; two brothers, Mr. Devell Goodman of Burlington and Mr. Gene Goodman of Gibsonville; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pine Hill cemetery by Dr. Don Carter, pastor of Baptist Temple of Alamance County.
The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 7 to 9 this evening, and at other times at the home of a son, Mr. William Goodman, 316 Cates Ave., Burlington.

MEBANE - Mr. Parker Wood, 74, of 821 S. Eighth St., died at 8 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a one-year illness.
