BURLINGTON - Mrs. Lessie Davis Rainey, 95, of 2134 Martin St., died at 12:50 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Myrtle H. Haith
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Myrtle Hall Haith, 84, of 1611 Oklahoma Ave., died at 4:55 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, 1997, at Alamance Health Care Center after three and a half years failing health, one day critical.
A native of Halifax County, Va., she was the wife of the late Mr. Hubert George Haith, and the daughter of Mr. John Edward Hall and Mrs. Rosa Cates Hall, both deceased. She was retried from Variety Hosiery Mill. She was a member of Glen Hope Baptist Church for 60 years and was a member of the Stephens Bible Class.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Bolden of Burlington; two sons, Mr. Hubert Haith Jr. of Alabastor, Ala., and Mr. John Bruce 'J.B.' Haith of Henderson; a sister, Mrs. Maudie Wyatt of Raleigh; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two step grandchildren; and one great-step grandchild.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Lebanon United Methodist Church cemetery by the Rev. Bob Stephenson, pastor of Glen Hope Baptist Church.
The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 3 to 5 this afternoon, an at other times at the home.
Mr. Furman Moore
MEBANE - Mr. Furman Moore of 615 N. Third St., died Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997, at this home.

Mr. James E. Parrott
HAW RIVER - Mr. James Erskin Parrott, 71, of 360 Trollingwood Road, died at 9:40 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 25, 1997, at Skilled Nursing Division of Alamance Regional Medical Center, after five years of failing health, two years critical.
A native of Caswell County, he was the husband of Mrs. Deloria Frye Parrott, who survives, and the son of Mr. Robert Olin Parrott and Mrs. Minnie Dunevant Parrott, both deceased. He was owner/operator of Parrott's Grocery & Grill and T.V. Repair. He was a member of Haw River Christian Church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Mrs. Robin Parrott Cook of Idaho Falls, Ind.; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret P. Wellons of Alamance, Mrs. Clara P. Freeman and Mrs. Katy P. Phillips, both of Burlington; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Robert Olin Parrott.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Haw River Christian Church by the Rev. James Rosser, pastor, the Rev. Richard Myers, associate pastor, and Mr. Kevin Hunter, youth pastor. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 7 to 9 this evening, and at other times at the home.

Ms. Ethel Morrow
BURLINGTON - Ms. Ethel Morrow, 77, of 1522 E. Webb Ave., died Thursday, Dec. 25, 1997, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a long illness.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of Mr. Harry Morrow and Mrs. Ella Morrow, both deceased. She attended the Alamance school system and was a domestic service employee. She was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ, where she was a member of the Usher Board and Missionary Circle Board.
Survivors include a son, Mr. Jerry Morrow of the home; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Monday at Ebenezer United Church of Christ by the Rev. Larry E. Covington, pastor. Burial will be in Graham Memorial Park.
The family will be at the church 30 minutes before the service, and at other times at the home.

Mr. John E. Morton
ALTAMAHAW - Mr. John Everette Morton, 76, of 2355 Osceola Road, died at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997, at the Hospice Home in Burlington, after 11 years of failing health, three days critical.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Mae Harrison Morton, who survives, and the son of Mr. J.E. 'Ebb' Morton and Mrs. Sally Price Morton, both deceased. He was a charter member of the National Association of Federal Employees, 2245 Chapter of Burlington.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a son, Mr. Gary Morton of the home; a brother, Mr. Russell V. Morton of Burlington; three sisters, Mrs. John W. (Hazel) Robertson Jr. of Burlington, Mrs. Desmont T. (Peggy) Wilson of Elon College and Mrs. Mack Dwight (Alyse) Simpson of Altamahaw.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. Frank Morton and Mr. Vance Morton; and a sister, Mrs. Edith Morton Tunstall.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Fairview United Methodist Church by the Rev. John Dutton, pastor, and the Rev. Dave Gilbert, pastor of Bethlehem Christian Church. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will be at the home.

Miss Fannie B. Loy
BURLINGTON - Miss Fannie Belle Loy, 86, of 1183 Kirkpatrick Road, died at 1:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 26, 1997, at her home after several years of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of Mr. Joe Ellis Loy and Mrs. Anner Pettigrew Loy, both deceased. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Maggie Loy Holt.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Mr. Hillary H. Loy, Mr. Will C. Loy, Mr. John R. Loy, Mr. Tom Loy and Mr. Eddie Loy; and a sister, Ms. Mary Loy Troxler.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Mark's Reformed Church cemetery by the Rev. Robert M. Disher Jr., pastor.
The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times at the home.

Mrs. Winnie McGowan
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Winnie Lee Cottle McGowan, 95, formerly of 3968 N.C. 62 South, died at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 25, 1997, at White Oak Manor.
A native of Wayne County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Aaron Willie McGowan, and the daughter of Mr. Christopher Davis Cottle and Mrs. Emma Blackmon Cottle, both deceased. She was retired from Kayser-Roth Hosiery. She was a member of Alamance Lutheran Church and the Golden Agers.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Elizabeth Howard of Burlington; a son, Mr. John McGowan of Seattle; a sister, Mrs. Annie Rivenbark of Durham; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, Mr. James Cottle, Mr. Henry Cottle, Mr. Winfred Cottle, Mr. Davis Cottle, Mr. Joe Cottle and Mr. William Cottle; and a sister, Ms. Minnie Jones.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Alamance Lutheran Church by the Rev. James D. Lockley, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be in the church fellowship hall from 1 to 1:45 this afternoon, and at other times at the home of the daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Howard, 2303 Moran St., Burlington.

Mrs. Nettie F. Connell
BEAR CREEK - Mrs. Nettie Kidd Fesmire Connell, 68, of Windsor House Nursing Home, Rockingham, formerly of 18763 N.C. 902, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 1997.
A native of Chatham County, she was a homemaker. She was a member of Edward Hills Friends Meeting.
Survivors include a daughter, Ms. Janis Fesmire Purvis of Laurinburg; a sister, Ms. Mary Stanley of Thomasville; five brothers, Mr. Archie Kidd of Liberty, Mr. Leslie 'Buddy' Kidd of Gibsonville, Mr. J. Van Kidd of Asheboro, Mr. Willie Kidd of Randleman and Mr. Junior Kidd of Staley; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mr. David L. Fesmire.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Edward Hills Friends Meeting by Dr. Linda Greene. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Christopher W. Bryson
TRINITY - Christopher Wayne Bryson, 10, of Marlbrook Court, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 1997, at High Point Regional Hospital.
Born Jan. 7, 1987, in Thomasville, he was the son of Ms. Angela Bryson, who died March 5, 1987. He was a fifth grader at New Market Elementary School in Sophia.
Survivors include a sister, Miss Elizabeth 'Beth' Holt of Trinity; maternal grandmother, Ms. Patsy Cave of Gibsonville; step grandmother, Mrs. Dean Bryson of Trinity; maternal grandfather, Mr. Wayne Bryson of Trinity; and great-step grandmother, Mrs. Naomi Joyce of Asheboro.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cumby Archdale Chapel by the Rev. Ricky Sessoms. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park cemetery in High Point.

Mr. John Spinelli
GRAHAM - Mr. John Joseph Spinelli, 78, of 310 Woodhaven Drive, Burlington, died at 4:45 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 25, 1997, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after 20 years of failing health.
A native of Brooklyn, King's County, New York, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Helen Spinelli, and the son of Mr. Peter Spinelli and Mrs. Francis Spinelli, both deceased. He was a retired warehouse manager.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Rose Spinelli Blake of the home; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be conducted at a later date. There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Faye A. Harrell
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Faye Allison Harrell, 58, of 702 S. Sellars Mill Road, died at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 25, 1997, at her home after several years of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Mr. Aubrey McDonald Harrell, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. Rudy Lee Allison and Mrs. Molly Mae Massey Allison, who both survive. She was a homemaker and a member of First Alliance Christian Church.
Survivors other than her husband of the home and parents of Burlington include a daughter, Mrs. Donna H. McIntyre of Goldston; two sons, Mr. Aubrey Mitchem Harrell of Burlington and Mr. David Matthew 'Matt' Harrell of the home; two brothers, Mr. Richard D. Allison of Mebane and Mr. Murphy D. Allison of Burlington; and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Burlington by the Rev. Bob Eldridge. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
