DOWELL Mr. William Beal Dowell, age 59, of 1009 Fries Rd., Galax, Va., died Monday evening, March 29, 1999, at the Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax, Va., he is survived by his wife, Sally Dixon Dowell of the home, one daughter, Ashley Nicole Dowell of Galax, Va., three step-daughters, Jeanette Justice of Conowingo, Md., Judy Crisan of Galax, Va., and Bobbie Lynn Wise of Aberdeen, Md., four step-sons, Bane Dowell of Aberdeen, Md.,Jack Dowell of Phoenix, Az., John Dowell of Galax, Va., and Joe Dowell of Conowingo, Md., three sisters, Ruby Singleton of Bel Air, Md., Eloise Hagy of Darlington, Md., and Bonnie Hackler of Galax, Va., three brothers, Rev. Mac Dowell of Darlington, Md.,Charles Dowell of Bel Air, Md., and Herbert C. Dowell of Roanoke, Va., fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survives. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the Grandview Memorial Chapel with Burial in the Whitehead-Joines Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta.

RICHARDSON Mr. Dency Andy Richardson, age 97, of 106 Hawthorne St., Sparta, N.C., died Sunday evening, March 28, 1999, at the Grayson Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Independence, Va., he is survived by four daughters, Clyde Mabe of Havre de Grace, M.D., Mildred Haine of Bel Air, Md., Laura Jean Emerson of Havre de Grace, Md., and Carol Mays of Bel Air, Md., one son, Amos Richardson of Perryman, Md., ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren also survives. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at 11:00 a.m. at the Grandview Memorial Chapel with Burial in the Shiloh Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral services at the Funeral Home.

FENDER Mr. Robert Hoke Fender, age 83, of 10629 Hwy. #113, Piney Creek, N.C., died Saturday, March 27, 1999, in the Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Naomi Strader Fender of the home, one son and daughter-in-law; Michael and Sue Fender of Piney Creek, N.C., one grandson, Robert Fender of Piney Creek, N.C., three step-sons and spouses, Joey and Cassie Edwards of Piney Creek, N.C.,Jimmy and Cindy Edwards of Danville, Va., Dennis and Susan Edwards of Blanch, N.C., four step-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Elsie Wyatt, Hazel and John Baton, all of Sparta, N.C. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, March 29, 1999, at 1:00 p.m. at the Grandview Memorial Chapel with Burial in the Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Bruce Wayne Osborne VFW Post # 7034. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta.

LYONS Mr. Bishop Jerome Lyons, age 76 of 14428 Hwy. 18 North, Ennice, N.C., died Saturday, March 27, 1999, in the Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta, N.C. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lois Jean Lyons of the home, one daughter-in-law, Wanda Crouse Lyons of Galax, Va., two grandsons and spouses, Ricky Wayne and Susan Lyons of Yadkinville, N.C., Michael Charles and Sharon Lyons of Glade Valley, N.C., two sisters, Betty Lockey of Sparta, N.C., and Mildred Lyons of Natasluga, Alabama, two step-daughters, Glenda Reece of Fincastle, Va., and Karen White of Radford, Va., four great-grandchildren and six step-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren also survives. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday Morning, March 30, 1999, at 11:00 a.m. at the Grandview Memorial Chapel with Burial in the Edmonds Community Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Bruce Wayne Osborne VFW Post # 7034. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 p.m. Monday evening at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta.

BRINEGAR Mrs. Clyde Mary Smithers Brinegar, age 72, of 159 Riley St., Sparta, N.C., died Wednesday morning, March 24, 1999, at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C., she is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law; Mary and Bobby Evans, of Sparta, N.C., Martha and Phillip Madrid of Ennice, N.C.,Christine and Patrick Griggs of Enterprise, Alabama, Charlotte and William Alford of Sparta, N.C., and Ellen and James Byrd of Morganton, N.C; four sons and daughters-in-law; Eld. Charles and Opal Brinegar, David and Vickie Brinegar, Chris and Michelle Brinegar and John Brinegar, all of Sparta, N.C., two sisters, Leila Hodge of Morganton, N.C., and Doris Edwards of Spidell, N.C., one brother, Richard Smithers of Sparta, N.C., sixteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survives. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 26, 1999, at 11:00 a.m. at the Landmark Union Baptist Church, with Burial in the Church Cemetery, the body will be placed in the Church 30 minutes prior to the funeral services to lie-in-state. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00p.m. Thursday evening at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta. Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon, March 26, 1999, at 2:00p.m. at the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with Burial in the Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the Church 30 minutes prior to funeral services to lie-in-state. SPEARS Mrs. Norma Glasco Spears, Age 69, of 12907 Hwy. 18 North, Ennice, N.C.., died Saturday evening, March 20, 1999, at the Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta., N.C., She is survived her husband, Homer Spears, of the home, three sons and daughters-in-law, Don & Barbara Spears of Ennice, Gary and Judy Spears of Merritt Island, Fla., Dale and Donna Spears of Ennice, one brother, Bob Glasco of Ennice, five sisters, Virginia Harless, Marie Glasco, Loyce Tompkins and Joyce Higgins,all of Ennice, and Nellie Starnes of Hiddenite, N.C., five grandchildren also survives. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m.Tuesday, March 23, 1999 at the Savannah United Methodist Church with Burial in the Edmonds Community Cemetery. The body will be taken to the Church Monday evening where the family will receive friends from 7:00p.m. to 9:00p.m.. Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to the Savannah United Methodist Church, or to the American Cancer Society.Grandview Memorial is in charge of the arrangements.

JOHNSON Mrs. Jewel Beck Johnson, age 53 of 2283 Shawtown Rd., Glade Valley, N.C., died Monday morning, March 15, 1999, at her home. She is survived by her husband, Billy Johnson of the home, one daughter, Penny Johnson of Winston-Salem, N.C., one son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Annette Johnson of Yadkinville, N.C., one granddaughter, Ashley Johnson of Yadkinville, N.C., her mother, Bertie Wall Beck of Trinity, N.C., two sisters, Teresa Cannon of High Point, N.C., and Janet Beck of Lexington, N.C., one brother, Randy Beck of Archdale, N.C. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at the Grandview Memorial Chapel in Sparta, with Burial in the Glade Creek Union Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta. Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made to Hospice of Alleghany, P.O. EVANS Mrs. Lorine Talbert Evans, age 70, of 80 Clyde St., Sparta, N.C. died Saturday morning, March 13, 1999, at the Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta. She is survived by her husband, Oscar (Doc) Evans of the home, one son and daughter-in-law, David & Linda Evans of Galax, Va., one daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Monnie Pasley of Sparta, one grandson and spouse, James & Norma Pasley of Jefferson, one granddaughter and spouse, Debbie Lynn & Ronnie Elliott of Jefferson, one great-granddaughter,Christian Lorine Pasley of Sparta, one step great-grandchild, Jennifer Jones of Jefferson, one brother, R.L. (Bob) Talbert of Palm City, Florida, one sister-in-law, Doreen Talbert of Stuart, Florida, several nieces and nephews also survives. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 15, 1999, at the Shiloh United Methodist Church, with Burial in the Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the Church 30 minuter prior to funeral services to lie-in-state. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta. LINDAMOOD Mr. Ralph Eugene Lindamood, age 84, of 433 Carriage Hill, Pulaski, Va. died Tuesday March 9, 1999 at the Radford Community Hospital in Radford, Va. He is survived by his wife, Berkie Poe Lindamood of the home, two daughters Patsy Tipton of Ft. Washington, Maryland and Patricia Gill of Roanoke, Va. two sons, Ralph Eugene Lindamood Jr. and Daniel T. Lindamood both of La Plata, Maryland, one sister, Eliza Sager of Mt. Jackson, Va. one brother, James M. Lindamood of Mt. Jackson, Va. Sixteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survives. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.March 13, 1999 at the Grandview Memorial Chapel with Burial in the Reeves Family Cemetery at Twin Oaks. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral services at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta.

CAMPBELL Mrs. Cora Faye Campbell, age 91, of Thomasville, N.C., died Saturday morning, March 6, 1999, at the Meadowbrook Manor Nursing Center in Clemmons. She is survived by a son, Roy Campbell of Clemmons, N.C.; two daughters, Edith Campbell of Thomasville, N.C., and Doris Wall of Winston-Salem, NC; a sister, Nan Butner of Winston-Salem; and a brother, Jack Reed of Florida. Ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-granchild also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 8, 1999, at 2:00 p.m. at the New Haven Church of the Brethren. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.

JOINES Elder Earl Lee Joines, age 72, of 1360 Pine Swamp Rd. Sparta, N.C., died Friday, March 5, 1999, at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. He is survived by his wife: Mary Walls Joines of the home, two daughters: Patricia McIntosh of Sparta, and Gail Joines of High Point, N.C., three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, March 7, 1999, at 2:00 p.m. at the Grandview Memorial Chapel with Burial in the Whitehead-Joines Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Bruce Wayne Osborne VFW Post #7034. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta. BRINEGAR Mrs. Delia Sexton Brinegar, age 87, a resident of Sunrise Health Care in Sparta, died Tuesday morning, March 2, 1999, in that facility. She is survived by one brother and sister-in-law: Clifford and Eileen Sexton of Lorida, Fla.; one sister: Margaret Presnell of Burlington, N.C.; one sister-in-law: Ann Sexton of Sparta, N.C. Funeral services will be conducted Friday morning, March 5, 1999, at 11:00 A.M. at the New Haven Church of the Brethren, with Burial in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the services at the church. Flowers will be appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to the Joy Ranch, or to the New Haven Church Needy Fund, c/o Max Webb, Sparta, N.C. 28675. GASCHO Mr. Ivan D. Gascho, age 70, of 774 Cox's Chapel Road, Mouth of Wilson, Va., died Tuesday morning, March 2, 1999, at the Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta. He is survived by his wife: Elizabeth Walls Gascho of the home; one son and daughter-in-law: Ronald and Maxine Gascho of Denver, Col.; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Charlotte Gascho of Nashville, Tn., Joy and Greg McPhearson of Dayton, Ohio, and Regina and Mark Fox of Louisburg, Ohio; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter also survives. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday morning, March 6, 1999, at 11:00 A.M. at the Grandview Memorial Chapel, with Burial in the Cox's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta.

BARE Mrs. Lucille Wingler Bare, age 59, of 75, Jarvis Rd. Ennice, N.C., died Monday, March 1, 1999, at her home. She is survived by her husband: Johnny Bare of the home; two sisters: Louise Wingler of Piney Creek, and Ruth Eldreth of West Jefferson, N.C. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, March 3, 1999, at the Scottville Baptist Church, with Burial in the Church Cemetery. Rev. Fred Jennings and the Rev. Reeves Jones will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, and at other times at the home of a sister, Louise Wingler, 1701 Allen Rd., Piney Creek. Grandview Memorial is in charge of the arrangements.
