DOUGHTON Mrs. Lula M. Doughton, age 95, of Sparta, died Thursday morning, December 30, 1999, at the Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta. She was the widow of J. Bain Doughton. She is survived by a granddaughter: Lisa McConnell of Greensboro, N.C.; a grandson: Bain McConnell of Clemmons, N.C.; two great-grandsons: Brian and Tommy McConnell of Clemmons; and a sister: Lola Goins of Corbin, Ky. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Sparta, with Burial in the Shiloh Cemetery. HINES Mr. Ralph John Hines, age 78, of 1291 Antioch Church Rd. Sparta, N.C., the Stratford Community, died Wednesday, December 22, 1999, at the Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta. He is survived by his wife: Ruth Osborne Hines of the Home; one daughter and son-in-law: Glona & Donnie Brim of Sparta, N.C.; his mother: Lela Hines of Sparta; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Edna Rose and Walter Jones of Laurel Springs, NC; Reba and John Walker of Bel Air, Md.; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Wiles Rex & Edith Hines of Winston-Salem, N.C., and William & Betty Hines of Columbia, S.C.; three grandchildren: Kevin Bennett and Kimberly Howard, both of Sparta, and Eric Bennett of Elkin, NC; and three great-grandchildren: Jennifer Howard, Julie Howard and Michael Bennett, all of Sparta. WALLACE Miss Linda Kay Wallace, age 50, of Sparta, NC, died Thursday morning December 16, 1999, in the Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta. She is survived by one sister and brother-in-law: Elana and Michael Rosinger of Lewissville, NC; one brother: George Wallace of Oklahoma; and two nephews: Nathan Rosinger and Asher Rosinger, both of Lewisville, NC. PUGH Mrs. Ruby Faircloth Pugh, age 89, of 12428 Highway 221 N. Scottville, NC, died Wednesday, December 15, 1999, in Walkertown, NC. She was the widow of Guy Wilson Pugh. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Jackie and C.O. Mabe of Greensboro, NC, Christine and Randall Martin of King, NC, Ann and Kenneth Triplett of Sparta, NC; five sons and daughters-in law: Dean and Shirley Pugh of Walketown, NC, Nicky Pugh of Morganton, NC, Robert Pugh of Winston Salem, NC, Sherman Pugh of Piney Creek, NC, Thomas and Mary Pugh of Winston Salem, NC; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Grace and Wayne Warden of Laurel Springs, NC, and Faye Medley of Sparta; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is survived by one step-daughter: Mrs. Wanda Burlot of Aberdeen, Md.; two step-sons: Robert Petty, Sr. of Galax, Va., and Leonard Petty of Greensboro, NC.; two sisters: Magalee Caldwell of Kannapolis, NC and Clara Kampe of Creston, NC.; four half-sisters: Margaret Norris of T. Washington, Md., Doris Delfield of LaPlata, Md., Jackie Masten of Easley, S.C., and Dare Cole of Mtn.City, Tenn.; four half-brothers: Joseph Pope and Bryce Pope both of New Castle, Del., Norman Pope of Pendleton, Ore. and Charles Pope of Oxford, Pa.; five step-grandchildren: Clay Petty, Jr., of Winston-Salem, N.C., Tim Petty of Sparta, Tony Burlot of Aberdeen, Md., Tessa Petty and Justin Petty both of Galax, Va.; two step-great-grandchildren: Autumn and Megan Petty both of Sparta; a sister-in-law and spouse: Grace and Brady Crouse of Sparta; and several nieces and nephews. PERDUE Mrs. Mattie Lee Evans Perdue, age 75, of 1786 Grandview Dr., Sparta, N.C., died Sunday evening, December 12, 1999, at her home. She is survived by one son: John Anderson of Sparta; one daughter: Carolyn Cobler of Mt. Airy, N.C.; two grandchildren: Johnnie Eldridge and Richard Eldridge, both of Mt. PHARR Mr. Donald Albert Pharr, age 77, of 440 Cahn Rd., Sparta, N.C., died Sunday, December 5, 1999, in the Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Ellen and Jim Fender of Sparta; two grandsons: Darrell Maynor and Jason Fender, both of Sparta; a step-grandson: James Fender of Sparta; a step granddaughter: Fran Crouse of Elkin, N.C.; one brother: Robert Pharr of Statesville, N.C.; three sisters: Mary Arvil Edwards of Statesville, N.C., Elva Ruth Pharr of Sparta, and Mrs. Dean Turner of Lansing, N.C.; several nieces and nephews; three great-grandchildren; and a special friend: Carolyn Shaw of Sparta. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. LOGGINS Mr. John Robert Loggins, age 53, of 546 Prathers Creek Church Rd., Laurel Springs, N.C., died Saturday morning, December 4, 1999, at his home. He was the son of the late Felix and Ruth Crouse Loggins. He is survived by his wife: Lillie Dixon Loggins of the home; one daughter and son-in-law: Sylvia Annette and Mark Medley of Boone, N.C.; four brothers: Lamon Loggins of Sparta, N.C., Larry Loggins of Lansings, N.C., Roger Loggins of Piney Creek, N.C., and Mark Loggins of White Top, Va.; and five sisters: Lois Miller of Glendale Springs, Linda Miller of Clover, S.C., Carolyn Brown of Greenville, Tennessee, Diane Loggins of Millers Creek and Peggy Brown of McGrady, N.C.
